Yes, that is exactly what we need. Another rich real estate developer without any political experience getting into politics so that he can shape the laws in his favor. Because that worked so well the first time.
There needs to be checks and balances, ACTUAL C & B, when a developer holds an elected office that may influence planning commissions and local government construction bids. We've already witnessed a POTUS walking all over the Emoluments Clause without any repercussions.
I can't believe how easily people believe multi-millionaires telling them to vote for a billionaire. You actually think Caruso will take care of YOU??!?

Wasn't there a bill someone was trying to get passed so that you could fund your own campaign and then get reimbursed? That's how I see this 40 million is going to go...
LA city budget for 2021/22 is about $11.5bn and real estate projects can easily reach several hundred million each. there should be ample opportunities to recoup $50m or $100m for the new mayor - several times over
Please note that most of the Democrat base in California are centrist dems and liberal Republicans and not just progressives.. progressives are just 35 to 40% of the Democrat base.

Bull💩 Rick Caruso will be tough on crime and homeless encampments. We want someone who will be tough. Karen Bass wants to put therapists instead of police officers. These thugs with guns are not going to listen to a therapist. Rick Caruso for Mayor
If Caruso wanted to make more money the last thing he should do is run for mayor. It’s a bad job, so the only reason he wants it is probably because he genuinely cares.
LA city audit finds $1.2 billion dollar program spends $837,000 to house a single homeless person. democrats just want to steal peoples money and squander it all into oblivion
Caruso is bad news for the Gen Pop here in LA. Yet, with so many redevelopments and investors reinventing the city for the upper echelon, he just might win... Ultimately, money seems to dictate most things.
He’s not bad news for Angelenos. What are you talking about? We want someone to add cops on the streets to fight rising crime. We want someone who is going to put a stop to homeless encampments. If the homeless don’t abide by the rules, they will face consequences.
Bad news? So you want Karen Bass who is going to be the same thing we have been having in LA for the past few years. Easy on crime and vagrants/homelessness.
@@imalwaysright.6663 From a guy that isn't from LA, or anywhere close by, you don't stop crime by just putting more officers on the street, nor do you stop the homeless's problem by stopping their encampments. This is a social problem that will require a complex approach in many fields, whoever says the answers is just more cops or give simple answers, they're most likely wrong. But hey, that's just my 2 cents.
@@MyToranja he is for having more cops on the streets since there is a shortage. Karen wants social workers and therapists to tell criminals to not steal and attack innocent people. That’s not going to work. Criminals need to be held accountable. Caruso will have shelter built for the homeless and they will have to take it. If they don’t take it, it will be an issue. If there are homeless that are causing chaos on the streets, they will be placed in conservatorships. Karen says she feels safe on the streets.. because she’s planning on being soft on the homeless and we want them off the streets.
The irony of this situation is that if he really wanted to "get the homeless off the streets" he could have used that 40 million dollars to have: bought some land, built some apartment buildings, started a charity so that he'd have more cash coming in for the cause, moved some homeless into the buildings rent free for the first year of their stay, help them rehabilitate into society by the end of that year, keep the rent low so that they can afford to live there after the first year is up and use any profits from the rent he gets to help more people! But he's more interested in ads and "getting the message out there" than actually doing something to the people he claims to want to help. 😮💨🙄
LA city audit finds $1.2 billion dollar program spends $837,000 to house a single homeless person. democrats just want to steal peoples money and squander it all into oblivion
Now imagine if Biden decided to use the 40 billion dollars he sent to corrupt Ukraine to build housing for homeless people all across America, the irony how he decided to use FEDERAL money to help citizens of a foreign country instead of helping his own citizens, Caruso has the right on how he can spend his OWN money, no one has the right to tell a person how they can spend their OWN money
Homelessness covers many different situations from families that face eviction or foreclosure with no recourse to youth who have left or been forced out of a bad situation to people with a variety of illnesses. Suppose we wanted to solve the problem for families by providing small two bedroom apartments. IF you could build at $100/sq ft and IF the av. unit is 500 sq ft. only and IF you can get the land donated by the city or the govt. or some other donor then each unit would cost 50K and you could build 800 units. More likely it would cost twice that, or more, and you could build 400 units for $40 M. If you go for single bedroom+ bath only, no cooking facilities , which might be a strategy for single youth, veterans, etc., you might be able to get shelter built for as little as 20-25K/unit (but don't count on it) and 40M would pay for as many as 2000 bedrooms. Neither would make a dent in the homeless problem in LA, which has been in the 40,000 range for several years now. HOWEVER - homelessness costs might decline if we could get people sheltered and cities might actually save money building housing for the (chronically) homeless rather then leaving them to suffer (medical costs are a big part of the public costs of allowing people to be without shelter.)
Rick Caruso is getting Celebrity Endorsements that means he is even more out of touch he is too close to the Fame and Wealthy if you live in L.A vote for Karen Bass
Nonsense. Caruso actually volunteers at charitable organizations and goes to Church. How many celebrities do that? He is a man of faith and humility. The celebs just want on the bandwagon.
The key in LA is to vote for anyone but Caruso. Caruso is the most likely to get to the 50% cut off to avoid a runoff, so a vote for anyone else prevents him from sweeping the election.

LA city audit finds $1.2 billion dollar program spends $837,000 to house a single homeless person. democrats just want to steal peoples money and squander it all into oblivion
He will build more shelters and make them mandatory. Currently most shelter beds are empty because the streets are filled with drunks and junkies. This is all most LA natives want. No camping laws enforced.
LA has turned a mini houses project for the homeless into an impossibility. Somehow, after the tiny house is built, it will cost around $325-$350k. Sticky fingers? More like sticky arms and legs to take as much funding possible and jack the cost up to build. $$$ wasted.
