Nothing is gonna change. There maybe some ppl who will get fired and their departments get dismantled(primarily departments that affect corporations like spaceX or oil industry), but apart from that there's nothing that will change. First thing Elon will do is to get rid of all the regulations affecting his own companies.

He didn’t make a single detailed statement and you think that means he’s treating you like an adult? Pathetic.
The overwhelming majority of money government spends goes to Americans that don't feel like providing for themselves. That accounts for 75% of all spending, because 38% of Americans now suckle off the government teat. That's 50% of U.S. households. So if you're looking for people to blame, those are your villains. Their unwillingness to take care of themselves is destroying the economy.
Yeah, most Americans are too complacent anyway. Also truth is if Elon posed any true threat to the status quo, he would end up "kermitting superslide" from a 20 story balcony. And on a side note, has anyone here ever wondered why we will never hear from types like Jeff Eppystein, or P Diddly, or the attempted "Rump assassin"? Probably because those in power don't want any secrets getting out @loluspololus

The bureaucracy has millions of employees who are defined as "non-essential." The government shouldn't have any employees who are non-essential." Zero.
i might say that if you fire the non-essential workers in a company, most of the time all the people doing actual work are fired. Because too many lazy managers and people who are in their position, not because of skill but because they know someone, decides who is essential and who is not.

The rich pay the majority of these taxes. But they have the smallest amount of votes. So it kind of sucks to be them but not really because they can buy politicians and sway non-wealthy voters in many ways to get what they want out of government. Elon is a great example of this.

Many years ago, probably the 1980’s, there was a $800.00 hammer for the military. It was a standard ball peen, nothing special. The cost was due to the silly tests required to meet certain milspecs. I saw numerous cases where money could have been saved. Every Sept, we’d have to spend whatever excess allocated money we had for the year, if not, we received that much less the follow year. We also had to fly our allocated training hours, and if not, we didn’t get them the following year. Training flight hours were (properly still are) converted into dollars, and if, for instance, the unit was allocated 1500 flight training hours, there was a conversion that equated money. It factored in fuel, parts, replacement equipment, contracted maintenance (routine maintenance was accomplished by military, so it didn’t matter), and our civilian manning. Where it got real difficult is when we had numerous deployments or missions that were funded by someone else. The hours we flew didn’t affect our allocated training hours, so every year we’d have to just go and burn hours. I spent one weekend flying 25 hours and didn’t really do anything, we just had to burn the hours. I remember being deployed and needing to spend $50,000.00 in about 2 weeks, or we’d lose it the next year. Yep, we did it, and actually purchased things we needed. I retired 20 years ago, and suspect the same thing still happens.
They buy hammers from companies and other tools for 800 dollars because then those companies make super high tech shit for us. Do you still believe that something that was made in the 90s like the b2 stealth bomber is the most expensive thing we have in the military and still the most advanced craft? We can’t let congress or even the senate know what we are making and we sure as shit can’t tell the people because if we did then all our enemies would know about it as well. To put it simply we have to create loop holes in the budget to not show our hand because if we do we lose tactical advantage over the enemy.
Ronnie Reagan was president then and he nothing about it. All he did was deregulate the banking system which cost tax payers billions if not trillions of dollars to straighten that Reagan fiasco out.
The problem with Government entities is they don't have to make a profit of their own accord. The money still rolls in even from the worst results. All anyone has to do is go down to the Dept. of motor vehicles and you can recognize the attitude that they have no "customers". They think we are there to do THEIR bidding. Try running a company like that in the private sector and see how long it lasts.
I spent my working life in communications. One government contract for comm gear had an error rate requirement of less that 1 bit error per million bytes to the 16 power. One of our guys applied that to a T1 (high speed at the time) and calculated that running at 100% it would take over a 1,000 years to push that amount of data to prove reliability. I never checked his figures but sounds typical of governement.

The facist government of ‘Israel’ is committing genocide against the native Palestinians. And as American taxpayers, we are supposed to sit idle and accept that we are indirectly paying for it?
I absolutely agree! As a Christian I cannot condone abortions and as a taxpayer I cannot fund it. Of course, an individual should be free to choose as they like but they shouldn't try and make me the taxpayer pay for it when it violates my religious beliefs. That is incredibly immoral.

Both Kennedy and Trump have suggested we use blockchain technology to track of government spending. This will allow the books to be open for review by the citizens.

@@cary7721 I take it that you think 80 to 90% of bureaucrats are inefficient? I think one of the main problems is that bureaucrats have some solutions to problems that can't possibly be effected because their bosses didn't think of the solution or want to claim the solution for themselves. I remember working in a shop with lots of chemicals. A rule was instituted that first we had to get the MSR's (material safety data sheets) for all chemicals, then get rid of all chemicals with a number over one. That rule crippled the shop for almost all activities in the shop. Then another rule was instituted that we had to have the list of the chemicals with amounts placed in the hazardous chemical locker...none of which were hazardous and if they were; then that is exactly the wrong place to have the list and inventory. The list could be burnt up and the fire people wouldn't have the key to the locker. Oh yes, water was considered to be a hazardous chemical by the authorities.

First and foremost should be a 5% reduction across the board in every department budget. Followed by a full financial audit of every federal department spanning back 5 years. While not that crazy, i myself got an order for $326k only to make and destroy each part because they accidentally had me make the wrong part. Took 9mo to get paid on that.
Most Americans don't understand how the government spends money. There are crazy concepts that are at play like if an office doesn't spend all of the money it receives, they are penalized by getting less of a budget the next year. You must buy computers off the GSA approved list even though you can by the exact same item at any office supply store or Best Buy for far less. And my favorite stupid idea is when a multi-year project gets approved and starts, funding gets cut half way through so it is either terminated or drags on so that the costs sky rocket.
To be fair, it was an question he can't possibly respond to. It is like asking him what he would cut in twitter before he bought it had the opportunity to open the books. He would need to be able to properly evaluate what was in front of him before even being able to think about it.
