I am a Navy Blue 3rd Degree training, to test for my black belt. I hope to be training and practicing with a bunch of Instructors and Masters, like this one day. (:

Yes,you're right, there's nth wrong in moving from MAs to MAs,I myeslf train 5 different MAs(BJJ,Muay,Sanshou,kickboxing and Shaolin kungfu).But,Transfering from another MA to VVN becasue of passion is one thing,transfering from Võ cổ truyền to VVN,train in 2 weeks,and then fight in a VVN tournament is another!

of course..I really hope! ;-)

@hainguyenx you are free to give your opinion, but vietnamese fight team is very strong..and there nothing similar TKD..where did you see TKD punch like this? Vo Tu Do doesn't exist..not in Vietnam, isn't a martial art. Muay Thai is different and has different rules then Vovinam,you must know it..and of course, is a good fight art!

there aren't any problems, I love the martial arts world, but maybe nobody say TKD has the same style of Vovinam..but everytime compare VVN with other MA, and I don't like..just this..but I agree with you!

Vovinam and Muay Thai have different rules, so they have different fighting style, u can`t compare like that, effective or not depends on the artist, not the martial art.

first of all I know very well what is ITF..!! What you say about transfer is not true..Vovinam fight is the Vovinam fight, TKD is TKD, Kick Boxing is KB.. I don't understand why compare! different martial arts, different style..Vovinam is older then TKD..

I don't understand why you want to tal about it! I know you don't mean VVN is BAD..but VVN is VVN..and I don't like when people say that. Many people move from martial arts..it's normal

I don't understand what's the probl of looking like other martial arts?what makes u uncomfortable?VVN and Taekwondo works on the same theory(like i said),so they look alike,and they look like many MAs, such as Shaolin,kickboxing,and even Võ cổ truyền,...that's all.BJJ looks exactly like Judo,and they admit it.It din't make it bad,it's still trained by millions of people in the world!

VVN is good,it has smart way of developing,training,but there's sth very annoying:You guys think you 're unique!martial arts are made by man,man sometimes think alike,even though they're from different countries!martial arts look alike becasue of the same reason!that's all.There's nth to feel uncomfortable about it!all modern martial arts look alike!

Trust me Tô,It looks EXACTLY like kickboxing or Taekwondo ITF( I bet you've only heard of Taekwondo WTF,which only allows kicks and held for medals right?),the only thing different is:ITF allows low kicks,ad VVN doesn't!'Bout the VVN team,How can't they be strong?:)they're transfered from taekwondo's,kickboxing,sanshou or even võ cổ truyền teams!Vnese sport managers are big CHEATERS!

:)First of all..I DIDN'T compare anth! what's wrong about saying VVN looks like TKD ITF? did i make ur beloved VVN look bad?they work on the same theory"soft-hard",thats why they look alike,OK?And maybe im not a VVN master,but i know what im saying about the teams! MY friend is training in national VVN team,and he's transfered from võ cổ truyền team! And so were many of TKD' teams people!Now they're planned to move to kickboxing! OK?VN sport cheats!

look weak. Punches and Kicks does not have much power. Look too much like Taewonkdo. I have to admit Muay Thai is much more effective even tho I am Vietnamese and I should be proud of our art. Vietnamese Vo Tu Do is much more effective than Vovinam.

Don't know how good you are and some of your points are valid, but this is not a forum to compare one MA to another. Empty drums sound the loudest !
