My AC15 C1x came with a non-working reverb unit. After checking the connections and still getting nothing, I ordered a $20 replacement tank, dropped it in, problem solved. Less hassle than trying to invoke the warranty through normal channels, and it’s worked perfectly since.😎
Oddly enough, I always thought Vox amps were similar to Fender amps. That they did cleans very well. Not sure why I thought that but that's what I thought.
I just recently bought an amp on a deal because the reverb didnt work and upon first inspection it was the same thing. RCA cable wasnt plugged in all the way. :-)
It’s tough because in that era they were getting prototypes. They had 7120s, UL730s, then Defiants, Conquerors, etc. But they were also using Showman amps on that and some blonde Bassman.
Are Nichicon caps any good? I've seen others state that they are but those are just random people. Are they any good? Edit: lol! What a coincidence. You mentioned Nichicon caps after I asked this 🤣
can you physically reinforce the plugs where the reverb plugs in the sockets I mean they don't look well attached to the board when you plugged them back in?
What is Korg doing to (try) and mimic the pentode preamp tone of the original. It’s like they’re almost getting it right but they DEFINITELY didn’t get all the way there. I could (and will) look at a schematic but I figure you could probably sum it up nicely. :-)
They aren’t. This and most other AC15 versions are 15W versions of the AC30. Not the EF86 version. The Heritage tried but it was built out of tissue paper and old sneezes.
@@PsionicAudio Hi Lyle, I love you videos and your honest thoughts. Really digging your content. May I ask why you dislike the Night Train ? I understand they are not like AC15s but they seem to built well and working fine for me. I get decent cleans and the a pretty good Girth channel which really makes it an actual 2 channel amp. Combo also a Greenback in it. Is it the construction or components used you don't like and are not really quality Vox Circuit? Tubes are Chinese EL84s and 12AX7 just like most AC15s and AC30s coming out these days. Cleans may not be pristine cleans but do the job really well. Hope you can share some negatives and how I can get them resolved.
Apologies for asking this here but.. I got a Friedman Pink Taco 2 days ago. The thing is, I can hear sound coming out of my Tube Head! The higher the master, the higher It gets. Is this normal? I am plugged in a captor X, that is how I can hear it. Cheers!
Hard to find one I can afford with the right neck thickness and nut width. The MIC and MIK models are pretty crappy, the MIJ versions usually have the wrong neck/nut, and the two Lennon models (“Inspired by” and the limited edition) are overpriced since Get Back came out.
