Plus the Ashari are a very diverse people, whereas Vex and Vax grew up first in a really small (mostly) human town and were then whisked away to the center of Elven Isolationism. So not only we’re Keyleth’s parents half elves but she probably grew up with kids of all kinds, where as for the Twins it was either humans or full elves. Plus another reason for them that I won’t mention here because it’s kind of spoilery and we want Nicole’s nonspoiled reactions 😊.
@@JRDickens20 Lol, you reminded me of how Vox Machina were going to (spoilers for up to C1E91 and maybe Season 4 of the animated show) go to the Hells, so Keyleth found the only tiefling resident of Zephra, and was like "You're half-devil, could you teach us infernal real quick?"
@@JRDickens20 Which part of the opening? (Spoilers for maybe season 4, C1E91) . . Their errand to Hell wasnt until after Bards Lament, which will probably be the end point for season 3. I didnt catch anything particularly hell-ish in the new intro?
The score when Keyleth transforms, appropriately named "Pass Through Fire" is absolutely beautiful and brilliant. Just listening to it on its own gives me chills.
Keyleth's parents are both half-elves! They have the same ear shape/size as her & the twins, and the ears would be much longer if they were just elves. ALSO don't worry Nicole, I'm just as obsessed with Vaxleth as you are :')
I think her parents are both half elfs but the big difference is The Ashari are a multiracial people divided into four tribes: Air, Earth, Water, and Fire, the twins where first raised by their human mom after she died their father came and took them to live in an elf city they where looked down on as lower calss. so raceism cause of their half elf nature.
I think you're completely correct. Both her parents are half elves, and I think have wood elf ancestry specifically. The Ashari are kind of a hippie, love and acceptance, ☮️ type culture, mostly. Meanwhile Syldor was a full blood High Elf noble, and fits that stereotype to a t.
@@jetvulcan2020 oh yeah, no, I didn't mean to insinuate that all Ashari were half elf. But Keyleth's parents are, and the Ashari in general are pretty accepting.
Correction. They were taken away before their mother died. Later, when they ran away from Synghorn, they were going to come back home but found it on fire with their mother killed (that scene is in the intro).
I'm pretty sure with it's just a matter of "Half-Elf + Half-Elf = Half Elf". I'm not sure if Tal'Dorei, but I'm pretty sure in base D&D Kiki's dad shouldn't be able to grow that beard of his if he is all elf.
When they began streaming, the first big quest we saw Vox Machina on, was them being send by Allura to find her Paladin 'friend'. The later reveal of their relationship was celebrated by the cast.
you also have Aimee Carrero in this episode briefly, the Ashari that Pike saved who cried "Mother!", giving us a full EXU team with Matt, Ashley, Liam and Robbie. "Flush of Love"... really Sam, why is that Outhouse song so beautiful? Allura and Kima were sort of shown as each other's dates to the Feast of Realms, but love that pairing. I'd love to see a series of them and their adventuring party some day.
Critical Role is known for some long game. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I just will say that you will forget about certain questions raised during this episode before they will be answered.
In the original campaign I didn't like Keyleth very much. In this show she is my favorite. Of I'm being honest I just didn't understand her character originally. But in this show it shines through like a beacon of light. Amazing writing and voice acting by Marisha.
Thordak was not originally from the plane of fire. He lived on Exandria, fought with Kima and Allura’s group, and was then banished to the plane of fire. From there he escaped (with help from someone posing as a fire ashari).
I can see how the show has made it a bit confusing, with the full the history being held back for later it looks like Thordak was already at Pyrah where a battle was lost against him, causing them to desperately use a soul anchor that was available at the location - not that that they already had it and so specifically lured Thordak to the fire rift. Also Alluras odd line of "We are the reason he escaped" when clearly Kima and herself werent involved, they were right there in Emon when the attack happened. So it could appear like she is referring to the flashback, that in the past it was her original party that let him out.
13:22: Percy, now 100% Orthax-free! Definitely MUCH better. But you think he's joking about being flammable? With all the gunpowder in his pockets, a stray spark could (very briefly) be a very bad time for him and anyone nearby. On the plus side, the contents of a dustpan aren't known for having a lot of anxiety and trauma, so there's that? 😆 17:25: No Mercy...Kiki?
I'm holding out hope that hes just been changed to a survivor in Emon, which would make sense since he ended up there later anyway. He had a significant impact on Keyleth so I really dont want him erased in exchange for giving his line to Keyleths mother (in a completely different context too....)
GOOD LORD that's a furry kitty! (vet critter) I'm glad your enjoying the relationship between Vax and Kiki..... {1000 yard stare} looking forward to watching you reaction to season 3 its gonna get sooo good yall. ( also I'm from Appalachia pretty good impression)
The very, very end of the whole series? Hmm I think the end of this season is more probable but I hope for the first 3 episodes, come on it's high time :)
Its interesting because in the original, Vax stole a kiss when he confessed he loved her in Whitestone, but we're well past the moment and it didnt happen like that. So what will change in the future to make up for it? A bit of fun for the old Vaxleth fans to look forward to something new.
