I think Percy actually uses second wind after blowing a hole in his own hand in episode 12. Even with Cass' medicine check, people normally wouldn't be grabbing things with that hand immediately after unless they were either toughing it out or couldn't feel it.
Great call your probable right I love how detailed this show is and how much people can find hidden in it. Thank you for the awesome and informative comment good eye!
You forgot Mindless Rage and Reckless Attack. During the fight at the ziggeraut, Grog starts to be charmed by Silas but quickly shirks it off. Grog then closes his eyes starts swinging wildly, stating "If I don't know where I'm swinging, then neither will you!"
I'm going to put out a few more video about hidden details and then I hope to have videos talking about the series animated and stream with a view maybe even my list of favorite characters and I would like to do some videos about dnd in general if anyone would be interested in watching that. Thank you so much for the comment I hope to provide many more videos to you all and I hope they continue to get better in the future!
@@sadknight2826 Thanks for answering :) . Well the thing I like the way you look at Dnd so I would appreciate some Dnd content after Vox Machina series ends. But as a guy who had interest in Dnd for 3 weeks there is some lack of content or content but pretty outdated are avaible. What I want to say is if you are going to create Dnd content do thing no other did. I'm not saying do something incredibly and absolutely original or something you don't like (Youe channel, your rules ) . If you want to know some of the lack of content I can list but it will take a while :)
Well, technically he is an Artificer, however, since the class was not brought into 5E at the time, Gunslinger was just brought over from Pathfinder instead, and turned into a archetype for fighter as a result.
There is no reason for chromatic dragon not being able to change shape like metallic dragons do anyway. The reason why the Monster Manual doesn't list this ability is probably because most chromatic dragons would never use it. They're too proud of what they are to make themselves look like a lesser species. But the Chroma Conclave had a specific plan that needed infiltration and thus, changing shape.
You don’t need the Dual Wielder Feat to use your bonus action to throw a dagger, anyone can do that if they use their main action to attack with a light weapon
Maybe they meant "Two Weapon fighting" and got it confused with the feat? (For those reading this who don't know, the duel weikder feat lets you use any one handed weapon for 2 weapon fighting, not just light weapons, ie, longswords or rapiers instead of shortswords or daggers)
Sorry if I was confusing of course you can use your bonus action to attack without a feat but on Vax character sheet he has the feat dual wielding which improvise the bonus action attack which prompted him to use it more often. Thank you for the comment I hope I cleared up what I meant.
It should have been listed in his section in the video if its not I may have missed it in the final draft. I was making a lot of this when the show can out and it all started to blur together at the end lol . Sorry about that I will be doing more of these here soon when Season two comes out so hopefully it will be in there next time. Thank you for the comment its very helpful.
Scanlan was a hard one to pin down as bard inspirations might have been spells which I mention in the spells break down video and the song of rest could have been when he was singing to the group so I did forget that one. Thank you for the helpful comment its fun to find things I've missed because it lets be know how detailed this series really is so thank you.
Sorry in advance for not knowing anything of Critical Role outside of what's mentioned in this video/showed up in the series, and chances are very likely that stats work at least a little differently there than regular dnd. All that said.......all these odds numbers in our heroes stat sheets hurts. Not saying everyone has to be super optimal or anything but sooo many odds numbers.
As i understand it most of the players where pretty new to the whole thing when they rolled up characters and it was for the 3,5 adjacent Pathfinder system. Thus when porting it over to 5E for the live show some things got wonky. =)
@@kratkartan1486 Um, a higher level like 11 would just mean higher stats (or more feats/abilities). It shouldn't make any of the numbers look off, like how Percy whose the same level as everyone else looks totally fine.
@@tiamatt44 well, with Percy, he's a fighter class, so he gets more chances to state properly then the others. For most characters they can do that every 3-4 levels, and for fighters its every 2 levels, plus if Percy is a normal human and not a varent, then his stats have a higher chance of equalizing out.
@@kratkartan1486 Classes really doesn't matter in having proper stats, like yes fighters gets more asis and thus can have more stats but say a druid like Keyleth (especially as a half elf) can easily have at least 5 even numbers if built properly. Look I get the players weren't all optimal, experienced players and that's 100% fine, some would say better even. I'm just saying that the levels really doesn't excuse the odd numbers. If anything being at a higher level like 11 means they had more chances to even out their stats if they wanted to.
Nope, frenzy barbarian. He just had a stupidly high hp pool with his 20 con and tough feet. He had 145 hp at level 11 and maxed out at 277 by the end of the campaign. Later in the campaign he gains resistances to poison, fire, electric, and cold thanks to his items.
Percy's class is fighter, and subclass is gunslinger. The reason for the warlock abilities is because he took a feat that gave him a choice of three spells. Which he chose: Minor illusion (the smoke), hex, and friend.
@@ZephyrBW Correct. He's got a couple of warlock abilities like hex but his main feature is his multiple attacks thanks to his being a focused fighter. He originally could do some magical damage with his original pistol having magical enchantments on two barrels, he also gets a shock glove to do melee magical damage. But he's mostly bullets and occasionally his sword.
yeah they tend to have much higher abilities in all their campaigns as they prefer to have all characters be able to have high social/investigative skills and they just use actor mindfulness of balance of spotlight and attention to feel out who should take the lead in a scene where in contrast your typical D&D group will all step back based on who has the stats be the one who takes the spotlight and the DM has to be responsible for presenting different challenges to share focus time. (aka the face for a social, the thief for all traps etc). If Matt Mercer didn't let them have high abilities then he'd have to be using very irregular and obvious unbalanced challenge ratings for when different PCs did the social/interactive elements. This group was always meant to be "god tier" eventually any way and players who want to mimic Vox Machina are really no different than players who wanted to be Drizzt Duourden in the 90s.
