The idea of the Percy/Molly switch like this is actually so fking genius. It accommodates the odd number of players while making it so neither team is unfairly balanced. The gem gives the regular team members something to fight over as a boon, and the odd man out still gets to play the whole time without feeling like they are unfairly beating the other team. You don't force Tal to sit on the bench nor give him a reason to feel bad for making the fight unfair. His job is to fuck up people, the others get to fight over who he gets to fuck up/how.

That fact that Molly rolled a 9 on initiative... I... Its too perfect.

I've never actually watched campaign 1, so I knew Liam was a crazy cool rogue and all but this is really the first time I fully realize the WHIPLASH he must have gotten going from THAT to a squishy human wizard with a 15 ac and not even 100 hp

Even after fighting Avantika, Lucien, Trent and Vox Machina, Fjord's biggest enemy is still Marine Layer.

I love that I had to keep reminding myself that, despite feeling like people were missing, all the cast was actually there and it was purposefully half the characters.

Ok hear me out, when Beau went "You?!" when she saw Molly, and his response was "What did you expect?", made me think that this Mollymauk is from a timeline where Lorenzo never killed him, he survived and kept adventuring with the nine until he got to the level we see in play here, so his confusion to why Beau is surprised to see him is because to him, he practically sees her on a daily basis, so there's no reason for anyone else to have shown up.

This kinda highlighted how underrated Fjord's tankyness is. The whole of Vox Machina's team was targeting him from the get go and he just took it so that the other two went undamaged for a so long. His healing and locking down the casters in fog was a major contributor to their success.

We need a Round 2 with VM Grog, Vex, and Keyleth vs. M9 Yasha, Caleb, and Caduceus with Tarry/Veth as the Wildcard!

SPOILERS FOR CAMPAIGN 2: I love how Molly's appearance here mirrors his entire campaign 2 run: makes a flashy entrance, does some damage, fjord (almost) screws him over in combat, uses some truly crazy unique skills that hints at something greater, taken away just when his groups start to get into a good rhythm , and then appears at the end but doesn't do anything and just adds SO MUCH SASS.

The whole scene of Fjord standing up after getting eviscerated by Vax to then slowly walk up to two gnomes trying to be friendly then gets his Thunder Step countered to then fart out a marine layer just for Pike to be staring at him is literally so fucking on brand with Fjord

Mollymauk using Curse of the Eyeless to protect Beau from getting hit by Vax actually made me tear up a little

I really hope they'll do a revenge round with the other characters. Vex, Keyleth and Grog against Yasha, Caleb and Caduceus with Veth changing in Taryon as the wild card. To be honest, I mostly want a pure barbarian fight between Grog and Yasha. He can outdamage her, but she'll be harder to put down.

The only thing I'm sad about is that Ashley wasn't playing Yasha for the fanart of a black-winged-Vax clashing with a white-winged-Yasha mid-air

that freeze-frame to allow Matt to run over and grab the orignal Bigby's Hand mini was both funny and genuinely heartwarming. Just, the way they all knew the importance of using the original mini for nostalgia's sake. It made my critter heart happy.

I feel so bad for Fjord during that first hour..... and then I feel bad for Scanlan.

With Legend of Vox Machina Season 2 underway and the announcement of a Mighty Nein animated series in the future, I think it's time to revisit this as a fun animated crossover short

It's kind of sweet how much difficulty Ashley has with attacking the other players when you consider how often she was forced to as Yasha.

I really wish Jester had called in Artie, just to see him freak out when he saw Vax.

What I found really impressive about this fight was the way the Nein worked as a team to take down each VM member individually. Mollymaulk dispelling Scanlan was amazing. I wish he was on the field for longer. We only just got a taste of what he can do.

3:36:23 has to be my favorite moment. That "FUCK!" after committing to the floor roll was just amazing.

I absolutely love that Fjord was near death and teleported next to Jester, his cleric, and Jester went: "Oh hi, you look awful... welp, see ya!" and teleported away.

This reminds me why I like Travis so much. Even while getting pummeled he's asking if it should have been more damage instead of getting annoyed about it. Love his attitude.
