The first two gentlemen have my respect and admiration! 👏🏾👏🏾🖤✊🏾Haitians are our black brothers and sisters. The second man saying to put ourselves in their shoes shows compassion. If they were any other color but black the Jamaican government would bend over backwards to let them stay. We need a comprehensive policy where we give asylum to a certain amount of Haitians every year who come by boat. We can’t take everyone in but we can take in a fraction. The lady was ever embarrassing. If you don’t know what you’re talking about please decline. It’s not a sign of weakness to defer to someone else when you are not apprised on a subject matter, however it’s embarrassing when you have no knowledge of which you speak and are so arrogant with your lack of comprehension. Jamaicans do not need a visa to travel to Haiti. 🤦🏾‍♀️

If you are saying this then you don’t know the Haitians. The give of Jamaican know them and that’s why they send them back when they come out there.

The Jamaican government haven't bend over for Venezuela who aren't black yet you claim if they were any other color they would. Jamaicans are more likely to accept Haitians or Cubans than any other people. Infact there is a lot the government is doing for Haitians and cubans that is not even reported. People from St Thomas, Portland and Clarendon knows how much Hatians are flocking to Jamaica shore more than what is said on the news. Even recently an homeless shelter was opened in Port Antonio, yet there are barely any homeless Jamaicans there. Only to find out it's for the Haitians. Currently, in my old community, there are several haitian families living there . I'm not sure why the government is hiding the amount of Hatians they are taking in but not all is as it seems. I personally know a few civil servants who work with Haitians family in Jamaica.

The same way our elders did: Knowing the history and conditions, we should educate and do as the Good Lord demands with the harvest: for the corners of your fields belongs to the widows & orphans. ~ AS THE FIRST COUNTRY OF LIBERTY (for freed slaves) aid and assist militarily and economically.

what i will say, is that we vet them and we keep the best of the best and send back the ones who don't mean Jamaica no good

The fact of the matter is no one runs from good. If what is going on in their country is good they would not be running from there.

Know your history Haiti (an island included the Dominican Republic) was designed for all black men only. No one else could own property there. Then they faced embargoes by all other united nations. To the point of re-writing their constitution by others. Smh 😡 🔥

The caricom countries should all agree to take a percentage of Haitian once they land on the shores of jamaica. Jamaica is a small island of 3 million. Haiti is an island of 10 million.

The. Caricom should agree to help Hatians in Haiti, not to displace them from their homeland.

Yet Jamaica is reducing its debt, growing, and even reducing unemployment, inflation, and poverty rates. If Hatians politicians did even half of what the current government did for Jamaica, Haiti wouldn't have calapsed. Jamaica economy was close to where Haiti is 10 years ago, however thank God it has improved. If only people know what was happening, because even thinking about it, sent a shiver all over. As we speak, at the moment, Jamaica only has one international bank in America willing to work with its central bank, which is scary. Thankfully, that's looking to change in the near future, which will improve our foreign exchange rate instead of accepting whatever that bank offers.
