Mina is a little hoot!! SOOO CUTE!!! 🥰 Nothing wrong with her wanting to be like her Mommy!! Y'all are looking GREAT!!! Being 'prepared' means being as ready as you can for whatEVER life throws at you, and that runs the gamet. You have done such a great job, and Matt had helped you with those preparations. I appreciate you being open and candid during all these trials. I have had to make many unplanned pivots in my life, for surgeries, heart attacks, farm and animal issues, etc. It takes a ton of pressure off, when you have some supplies set up, not only for yourself, but for your animals, and to help someone else. Most of all, keeping the close relationship with God lessens the anxiety. Praying continued blessings keep pouring over you!!! 🙏❤🙏❤🙏

Yes! Being prepared doesn’t mean only catastrophic societal breakdown. Being prepared for whatever life bring you way also brings peace. Mina is so hilarious! Love you both!

Several years ago, out of the blue, I had a burst of energy one weekend. I did a huge grocery shop and stocked up on groceries and household basics. Then I batch cooked several different meals my family liked. I also popped into my favorite consignment shop and bought a new warm nightgown and bathrobe, wondering to myself "why am I doing this? I don't really NEED them but they're calling to me". That Sunday evening, tragedy struck our family. As we muddled through our grief, I couldn't help but think about how God had prepared me to care for our family through the initial weeks of trauma and loss. To this day, I still think of that bathrobe as the full-body hug from God that it felt like when I'd put it on at the end of a long day.

Having a food storage saved us when my husband was laid off for 4 months years ago. He had a partial paycheck coming in so we could cover the bills but not regular grocery shopping. Having everything we already needed on the shelf took a lot of pressure and worry off of us during an already difficult time. At that time we didn't need the supplies because of war or government or empty stores or zombies. We needed it because of a common everyday reason. I'm so grateful and blessed that it was there!!

I remember praising the Lord after I saw the video of your accident. I said thank you for putting in her the conviction of prepping for a rainy day not knowing the huge storm that was ahead of her. I started watching your videos right before the accident and I’m so thankful to see the Lord sustaining you through the storm. You are such an inspiration to keep living and the joy of the Lord is evident in your life. This video gave me an idea to use a spare room double wide closet instead of my farmhouse basement for storage. It would be so much easier to organize and access! Heather, I lost my husband of 53 yrs Jan 2021. We started canning and prepping Oct 2020. Those supplies were a God send as I grieved for my love of my life. Still don't want to go to store often. Now canning food from my freezers as I don't know how to run generator if power goes out. He always took care of that. God bless you and your family.

I started buying one extra item a few years ago when your video’s made me aware of how important it is to be prepared. I now have 6 large shelving units that are filled. I have water stored on the bottom of each unit. I just went through and dated and organized. This is a very important step. Maybe a video about organization of our stored goods. It’s important so there is no waste. I’m learning and you have been a great teacher. Thank you for all your goodness.

Heather, For years and years I only purchased what I felt we needed. Never really having much back up. I'm not sure why. It's just a mindset. The past few years taught me to start building my pantry. I am nowhere near where you are but I'm so much better than I used to be. I'm figuring out what things I really use regularly and I stock up, especially when I find it on sale. I find that I cook more because I have what I need. In my case, it has just been a shift in mindset. My husband is the opposite and has always been more of a stock piler so he's loving that I'm coming around to his way of thinking, finally after 36 years! I was so happy to see a video from you today. We have all missed you so much!

It definitely is a mindset. My mom never had a pantry. She went to the grocery store every morning after dropping us off at school and would shop daily. Routine. We didnt have a weeks worth of food at any given time. Its how i was raised!

I hear a lot of you in your Mina! Your prep's were certainly a blessing!! Ever since the beginning of the pandemic I've become diligent about putting up food & supplies. Two large closets became food pantries, my dining room is half taken over with filled canning jars, and one of the bed rooms is half taken over with empty canning jars. The backyard has become a fruit & vegetable garden🍅🍅🍓🍓🍉🍉🥒🥒🌶🌶🧄🧄🥕🥕🧅🧅🌻🌻🍆🍆☺.

100% truth. We started slowly in 2019 but ramped up in 2020 and then at the end of 2020 my husband got injured at work and it took 2.5 months to get first check. We had such peace knowing we had a stocked pantry in our apartment.

One of our sons and his family moved cross country and live with us now, we're in month 4 at present. Without our preparedness we would have been in great financial discomfort regarding food and paper products. In fact, they looked at our pantry stores on hand in awe, they'd never seen anything like it! I'm grateful my mom, born just after the depression in the 1930's, was prepared as well. Through the years if we kids needed help we could always shop in her pantry. I've offered this many times through the years. A blessing to be able to bless others as well as care for ourselves

My first pantry was under my bed! Canned goods from the store and items that I had canned from the garden. Ha...such a long time ago but it worked! When my pantry gets over loaded the bed still comes in handy for the over flow! Great video.

My mom always had a little something stored away for the times when she couldn't get to a store. Working an extra shift, blizzards, sickness...the ordinary things in life. I began storing food little by little over the years. When I broke my ankle in 2015, and a major surgery in 2017 I didn't have to worry. I ordered in fresh produce but could have survived without it.

Living overseas in the 60’s and 70’s, we always had a full pantry. Friends have chided me for continuing the practice because the grocery store is just down the street. Thank goodness I had plenty of TP during the pandemic. Thank goodness I had foods that were not on the shelves. Being prepared is essential and building it slowly but steadily will create such a sense of stability and comfort.

Mina is such a joyful sweetheart 💓! I totally agree with your reasoning behind stocking up and doing it little by little with items you actually use. I have slowly built up a bit of a stockpile. It gives me peace of mind and I love shopping from my stores! I mostly only purchase things when they are on sale and not because I'm all out. It saves so much money not having to pay full price for everything, especially during these times that inflation is a bit crazy. I am so happy to see you making headway on your road to a full recovery.
