I fully support VRChat having an age verification system in place due to the fact it's mostly all adults anyway or at least a very big portion of it, and most of it's worlds, themes, & avatars being more adult based.
Im only 16 and I have found some of my best friends online on vr chat and have had amazing times, a lot of deep calm amazing conversations and helped me get out my shell of being shy, I really hope I will be able to play at least, plus I love love love that one world where you can fly planes, it helps me calm down when times are rough
you should still be able to play all this should be is an indicator of whether or not someone is an adult, so some group instances may be restricted, but normal worlds shouldn't.
I don’t want any kids feeling bad about this (you’re valid and cool) but it’s genuinely annoying how many there are. I want a space where I’m 99.9% sure it’s all adults, although idk how much I trust VRChat with my ID.
i do agree with you, but for all the fear mongering people may do, simply they can't. the amount of lawsuits they'd face would be insane, what will probably happen is what I proposed in the video of a third party verifying you're an adult and then they would receive a confirmation through some sort of data key. there are so many laws around PI so no one wants to risk anything getting out in a data leak.
I have no idea why this video is in my recommendations, I don't even play vrchat. What I will say though is that anyone that is against child protection enforcement seriously need to have their hard drives checked...
Please leave link(s) to the supposed Brandon FM *debunking* . Besides the VRChat moderator part (🤢) I'm not exactly sure what other segments of the video you are referring to but the way you respond here makes it almost sounds like virtually the entire video is unsubstantiated. Maybe I'm wrong with this interpretation and it only applies to one part of the Brandon video but I'd really appreciate some clarification to know exactly what you mean. Some of my thoughts: @VerumVRC was heavily involved with the Brandon FM video and that alone holds a ton of weight for anyone who has seen his thorough investigations and exposures. I've now watched every single video on Verum's channel and there hasn't been one where *endless receipts* weren't provided with: audio, video, and discord conversations. This alone shows a verifiable *pattern of integrity* on his part and I doubt very much that he would even involve himself for over a year if the majority of the video didn't hold water. I'm always open to hearing all sides of anything so I'll of course keep an open mind.
The video I did debunking it will most likely never see the light of day due do me not wanting to play I to the hate and make this channel a part of that, but the majority of the video is filler. And talks about unrelated factors such as the whole study is bogus. If you look at the info given which he uses to blame on vrchat. If you look towards actual studies on depression, drinking and technology use it's a generational issue not something caused by vrc. The other parts on vrc porn and stuff that he mentions don't affect the vast majority of uses and can easily be used in other vr apps. I do agree with the central idea of vrchat needs to pick a side, whether to be kid friendly or 18 plus, but the video was framed more as a hit piece in the style of mamamax. Since the vast majority of his arguments was against lolis which I find weird to be into but it's not illegal, so for me I always but my own morals aside and look at the facts and many of the facts he stated he didn't provide recent only parts. The only thing and the reason I won't make the video is do to the part of the kid mentioned in the video. Since when I went to try and verify it lead to a dead channel with no videos and the payback machine was no help. I hope that gives some context. But I personally won't be making a video on it since I don't want my channel to turn into that.
you do NOT look like that irl holy shit its so cringe seeing people in VRCHAT try to make their characters as hot as possbile for some reason and then play as them when they dont even look like that and try to pull random egirls like what
Uh I mean I'm his gf and use a ghost avi and I don't think I look like a ghost IRL so uh, its a game? he has a girlfriend and isn't trying to pull anyone.
