Dude! Auto Source Switch! I LOVE YOU MAN! As a person who broke his OSD control on my old monitor for having to switch sources back and forth between my work and gaming pc I was already feeling uncomfortable at the though of having to mess with that every day. I also did not notice the scroll bar. Can't imagine how much I appreciate it!
OHHHH MY GOD DUDE!!!! I LOVE YOU!!! i just got my new monitor and after finally affording to upgrade my gpu to a 3070 and running 240 hz i got unplayable flickering. this completely fixed it for me
Fixed flickering for me! Also fixed some weird issues I was having in warzone. I couldn’t be happier. And turning VRR on doesn’t look like it caps my refresh rate to 144 hrz. Everything runs as smooth as it always has. I don’t believe you need to turn VRR on in windows either. The flickering went away by just turning it on in the the menu of the monitor. I don’t see any reason to mess with windows settings.
Hey man have you ever encountered an issue with pc crashing and gpu fans going full speed. I recently got a g7 odyssey and the crashing started. I bought a new gpu, ram and it still crashes. using latest nvidia drivers as well

If you're getting flickering, the problem that causes this is that the provided Samsung Display Port is not a high quality, and it will flicker for sure at 240hz. You'll need to purchase a VESA Certified 1.4 Display Port cable, and you should be all set. I was getting flickering etc. with the provided Samsung Display Port and realized that was the cause of it. Also, do use some setting that you purchased to get the maximum out of your monitor.
@@RebelDrifter updating the firmware for sure fixed a lot things, but if you go back and plug back in the original supplied DP cable , you will get flickering and occasionally black screen foe a quick second while playing. I tried it a couple of months ago and wow, what a cheap DP cable. Samsung shouldn't of added them if not at least a 1.2 Vesa certified. I run 1.4. Cheers!
Haha I’m worser. I own the Neo g9 for almost 2 years and since a week I discovered this setting 🤦🏾♂️ It indeed helped with all the flickering issues I had in games. I already tried a different cable and updated to latest firmware. Kinda accepted it until I found out VRR 🙈
Hey, My Black Equalizer, Response Time, Refresh Rate and Low Input Lag are also greyed out when switching on Adaptive-Sync, does this mean they are working but just not modifiable, or are they disabled?
I run 3 in a triple sim racing setup, all of mine flicker until this new update sorted it out. My only other problem is I have to turn all my screens on manually the next day is there any settings that can make the monitors turn on with pc pain in the arse keep trying to get to my center screen power button?
I set this on and VRR go's up to 235hz @ 235 fps in doom eternal with my samsung g9 so its not up to 144hz unless i am missing something some games have issues with insane tearing display corruption issues like wow or valheim or days gone unless vrr is on but doom eternal runs just fine no issues

Hi, Did you enable the Variable refresh rate in the windows settings too under graphics settings? or just the VRR from the Samsung Odyssey settings only?
Hey mate i just got the 27" model no flickering luckly, curiosity though but it dose not feel super bright to me especially the hdr seems kinda dim, how have you found it with brightness. What settings do you use?
I always turn the brightness down to 0 to save power and because its dark most of the time where i use it. So my settings won't do you any good. Play around with the dynamic brightness and local dimming.
I downloaded the new firmware, but I cant seem to enable VRR. It is gray instead of aqua and when i click it, it says: this function is not available. My G7 has flickering. Not sure why it wont turn on :/ if anyone knows the solution, id love to know. EDIT: Just found the solution. I needed to have adaptive sync on
Thanks. Play around with black equalizer or it's just the power that does it. I have it as well but only when turning my tv on or off that's next to it.
Is 1440 240hz of this monitor mind blowing enough....i mean is it sharp ,realistic and color pop enough or do u recommend 4k 165 hz from lg...and how is 240hz experience?

Have you tried disable it which is the default, then just use VRR on monitor option with HDR? do you experience flickering? Variable refresh rate in windows 10: Disable Gsync/Freesync: On VRR on Samsung Odyssey: On HDR on windows: On have you experience flicker for the settings above? I experienced mine while VRR on odyssey is on. I think the culprit is the HDR because if I turn it off, it will not flicker. I just want to know your side
Whe I turn VRR on the monitor (G7) I get more pronounced Horizontal lines visable at the top of web browser. I turn VRR on in windows as well and it doesn't go away. A game {AoE4} flickers bad if VRR is not on. turning G sync off stopped the flickering but everything looks bad.
Just a heads up, I just purchased the T1 Faker edition, and the firmware is different from the non faker edition. G77 is the faker, G75 is the non faker. ver 1003.1 is faker, ver 1009.3 is non faker.

usually at 144Hz i dont have any trouble of flickering, even with the 1007 firmware. I updated to 1009 to see the option VRR Control but it doesn't fix anything at 240Hz, I have turned on even on Windos but the problem is still here. Have you tried the GIF used in rtings's G7 review @ 240Hz?

@@RebelDrifter I don’t know how to describe it but it’s like waves in the background of the video or on the left side only happening in dark mode it happens when you play the video when pause the video it stops
weird... Try playing around with some settings on the monitor to see if it goes away... or dark mode is just interfering with it. Maybe it has something to do with the black equalizer... @@youssefelmahdi817
i tried turning VRR on, but i still get black screen interminttently when i play video games. this is a problem that only started recently. i have updated firmware 1014.1, turned on VRR, but it still goes black from time to time when im gaming. i even tried to reinstall windows 10 home. all NVIDIA drivers up to date, and 1.4 DP setting on the monitor. am i missing somethging?
I don't think you're missing something. Maybe check your power? My monitor is a pain when i turn off the tv next to it. It also goes to black a couple of times but i never have it with games. Maybe turn off HDR (or on).
The power went out the other day and now my windows is zoomed in about 200% and it favours the left side of the screen. After an hour of trying to diag the issue thinking it was windows, i discovered it was a monitor issue. When ever i enable free sync it does this, when i disable it now it goes to normal scale/zoom. Does anyone have this issue? Is the monitor toast?
@@RebelDrifter I figured it out. There was one post on redit about this. Its related to the monitor. Unplug it for 30 seconds, plug it back in. Its fixed.
@@RebelDrifter No, the fix was to shut the monitor off, then unplug it for 30 seconds. Plug it back in, turn it on and it works great. Freesync works great now, HDR works great now too.
I have the same monitor with the latest firmware, but i can't enable VRR on my ps5. It says tv not supported and yes i have turned on VRR on the monitor settings. Any ideas?
Samsung G7 4K 144hz 28''. Display Port 1.4 Firmware 1008.1 (no new one came out). I have issues with ghosting and invert ghosting. 144hz it's not bad. Under 70 it's horrible. Im thinking to send it back for repair. Nothing helps..ghosting on PC is dramatic.
@Youssef Habib yah it's a pain. Now the supporter said that the 32" G5 only support freesync from amd cards as they listed in the manuals... So they refused my RMA or upgrading to g7

My new samsung g9 arives today old one arived with 3 dead pixels then 1 revived then 1 new dead pixel appeared, hopefully better luck today if not i guess im done trying and will return it for refund this time.
@@RebelDrifter Yeah like less then an hour now seriously hope for pixel perfect screen for all i care with horrible back light bleeding, rather that or popping sounds then a single dead or stuck pixel, altho if i do happen to get 1 stuck pixel i hope its as small as the one on my 1440p acer screen cos that one is hard to see even in hard conditions, 2 out of 3 dead pixels from last screen where huge tho always visible during normal use :(

If you're lagging in-game you have wifi problems. If you have screen tearing or something resolution/monitor based problems, then it's monitor settings.
@@RebelDrifter thanks i just got a really strong wifi i use Xbox one s (is this Xbox laggy?) but I played the game that i lag on it went to 30-45 fps to 50-55 fps it’s normal right?
@FeredAlshaban I don't have the same monitor. So I can't comment on that AND you are playing console on a pc monitor but it should work just fine. For example : if you have a ps5 with HDMI 2.1 You can 120 fps. I don't think your xbox has this but it should be running 60fps i think.

I mostly use it on pc. Consoles dont have a lot of options on the monitor as its more of a pc screen. I cant tell you best settings as i use it for pc. And I'm very close to the screen.
You need to enable/force vsync in nvidia control panel on windows. disable vsync in game while having gsync on. blurbusters.com/gsync/gsync101-input-lag-tests-and-settings/2/ you shouldnt have any tearing with that.
How do you update the Samsung 28” 4k g7 I just got it today & im trying to get full access to everything if someone is willing to help I would appreciate it this things been killing me
There's a vid on my channel. Download firmware to simple usb stick and then use the stick in specific port on monitor. In monitor menu there should be a firmware update option.
@@RebelDrifter its a good monitor but it has its issues, others can live with it, personally i find the flicker thingy annoying to my eyes so after a little search around i found that if you set a custom resolution to 195hz or less flicker goes away i am trying it atm it seems to work, but further testing will prove if this actually works, just sharing this in case someone else likes the monitor but has problem with hes eyes... 45hz to save your eyes its a good tradeoff, 195hz is still plenty.

I have the g70A and I updated the firmware to 1008.1 and I have no vrr help please what do I have to do to have vrr I don’t have it and it show on the menu at all
You need to put it in pc mode and you can turn vrr on in the ps5 settings but only works when the monitor is in pc mode not av,this is for the Samsung g70a
Are the flickering issues still colonizing with the g7 at 60hz? I want to buy it for my pz5 but I'm worried about the flickering. And this strong curve
it's not garbage, I have a odyssey g9 and it's awesome. A few things here and their but gets the job done! I got it for 795$ used, I'd suggest going for used, sold by amazon warehouse.

@@jad3nk674 the monitor does not have speakers. So if you turn off your headset all audio stops unless you have external speakers. Please like and subscribe.
