Hey Alfonso I remember saying to her girls many a times on ANTM, create a personality, go with the flow. I'm sure the Designer didn't say throw away that hat/cap thingy, Tyra and Naomi does naturally cool things that is not told to them. So I agree with you, the runway girls of today do not "create" or do things naturally to be personable. Tyra and Naomi always say it's imperative to show off the Designer's clothes but not with reckless abandon--just have fun with it.
MusicRainfield seems spontaneous & believable then if it's planned, mean she's a good model, not like those current Vs models, they look stone/awkward when doing these pose, idk
I remember the crowd seemed board, so the VS producers got Tyra up there to turn up the crowd. they asked her to learn the dance at the last minute, and she forgot it and faked it. she pulled it off. only the dance instructor knew.
Naomi was the baddest bitch up there..legs lean and muscular like a gazelle, skin smooth like Dove chocolate. Tyra killed it too though...my favorite two models.
Oluchi Onweagba also walked in this show. Back when VS shows had a few real models and a bunch of fillers, instead of Gigi and Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner.

Sorry but Bella Hadid, specifically from 2018 and on has proven she is a supermodel and vs angel and probably the only real one in modern times. Out of all models currently still walking, Bella is the only REAL supermodel that exists and walks almost as good as Naomi and continues to improve every year!
I honestly just love how animated Tyra is --- she's like a real person having a good time, and isn't afraid to show it. THAT'S what makes her the Runway Queen: she changed the game. She made it so you didn't have to just be a walking hanger anymore. She made watching runways /fun/ to watch!
The thing is is that a fashion show IS supposed to be focused on the clothes the designer made, NOT the models. Although it’s great that Tyra allowed there to be reform in how girls get to behave at the runway, the sole focus is supposed to always be the clothes cause other than that what’s the point of having a fashion show? That’s why many girls stick to the ‘walk expressionless’ so people focus on the clothes, not them. That’s why I think the title runway queen is a little too out there for Tyra. Her walk is enjoyable but it outshines the clothing far too much.
Janna Tris you both really think VS show is about the products? lol no. its not. its a promotional show, celebrating the most influential & worthy models. its more of showcasing their association & creativity, rather than the product itself. Tyra indeed changed the game for models on the runway. Her walk has a personality which makes it fun to watch. Before her models were just used as hangers but she helped in the process of change in the industry. just like Naomi did too. later models like Adriana, Gisele, Alessandra, Candice etc followed them.

Tyra has done many shows where she isn't smiling, it's all based on the atmosphere and what you are selling.
When the beat dropped and Tyra started walking, I was like....*REPEAT! REPEAT! REPEAT!* I could not get enough. She is strikingly beautiful, rhythmic, fun! Oh my gosh. So beautiful. Naomi is like a jaguar on the runway. Just effortless and powerful. They don't make 'em like that any more. Somebody needs to pass a torch.
Naomi may be fierce and an icon of the runway. But Tyra's playful, fun signature walk is what Victoria's Secret has demanded their next-generation models do. Now VS models walking out on the runway will do little dances, point at the audience playfully, clap just as Tyra did. If what Tyra did wasn't good, there would be no point for VS to make their models do what they're doing. Tyra set the trend.
Hey +tragicmulatto, don't forget Tyra OPENED that show, a Designer DOES NOT have anyone open their show, yea, even though Tyra's flamenco was eh, but which of the girls would have done a perfect job, right? The Designer told her to do what she did and go with it. Back to my initial point tragic, you've got to give Tyra props for OPENING the show knowing fully well that the Designer had Naomi, Heidi and Geisle in that lineup as well. Naomi is the best on the runway period! Tyra's Flamenco looked dreadful, you could tell she half assed it. And her walk is way too much over the top! I don't understand why people hype her so much. She is beautiful in pictures but her runway isn't...
Smooth like a cat... Perfect line... Not too distracting... Graceful.. even... Full extension (unlike Giselle)... Naomi really does have the perfect walk. All class.
To those who are saying that the crowd was clapping for Naomi, they were actually clapping for Gisele. This particular segment was shot twice because the first time it was shot, Gisele got ambushed by PETA members on the runway. So, when Gisele came out during the second shooting of the segment, the crowd began applauding.
I dont know why people keep saying things about Naomi and Tyra. do you know these girls changed a little this fashion industry? Also Beverly Johnson, Iman, Liya Kebede and many others. It's not easy being a black model and succesful.

this is so iconic.. the music, the guitar, the dance, the sound of her heels on the floor, the dress and that amazing walk by the extraordinary.. Tyra Banks and also credits to the other iconic models that walked after Adriana, Gisele and Naomi Campbell. A masterpiece show.
A lot of people always talk about Tyra and her weaknesses as a model because of the fact that Naomi Campbell existed. To me, Tyra Banks is the epitome of what a model with a good personality is and someone who can put on a good show. Technically, I do think Naomi's walk is a little bit stronger but Tyra's personality just makes her the superstar that she is and what made her so good and commanding on the runway.
This is why Tyra is a legend in the modeling world! She makes the whole fashion show interesting and fun! Her walk is amazing so full on energy it's the best!

Every once in a while I find myself watching random VS fashion show videos and I always end up looking up the ones with Tyra because she just does it like no other. I love the newer girls and overall I think all the VS girls are fun but Tyra is the ish!! From her walk to her energy on the stage and her body is AMAZING! No shade to other girls they're bodies are amazing also but I love that Tyra's jiggles a little on stage LOL I love it!!
Here in 2017. I dont watch the show anymore, ever since the legends left, i lost all interest. Naomi oozed sex appeal without even trying. Tyra had so much personality in her walk. Giselle, Adriana and Heidi. They were my faves.

Yes she said she was taught how to do it then came on stage and forgot all about it but as the show must go on she improvised and did her best to make it believable - which was the good thing to do. Personally I know jackshit about flamenco so she had me fooled :P

I kinda like how it was back then with the signature big name models, then you have the fillers. Nowadays its just a clusterfuck of kisses and twirls down the runway who think they're all tyra's and naomi's

But thats the point, it is her signature walk and when she walks, it doesn't feel tacky like unprofessional models do. Naomi always nails it but Tyra has her own style too. We can't compare both, they are unique

Ca Ka I think Naomi Campbells Career in the fashion industry speaks for its self. You can't ever compare tyra and naomi because they are to different. But i will say that tyra banks can not walk better than naomi thats a fact. I Love tyra but she isn't more successful than naomi period Point Blank!
I used to love Tyra as a model, and I really thought she was the epitome of fashion. When I began reading fashion and modeling history, I now realize why she is in VS lol.
