This movie discusses how I am feeling at two weeks post-op after gastric sleeve surgery. I discuss stats and challenges as well. You can also follow my journey on IG: @mamagotvsg
Hi Megan, I am 1 week 2 days post op. Today was my 1st follow up. I started my process in Jan and have lost 33 pounds, 13 since surgery day. My hardest thing is crushing my meds. I hate that after taste. Today I woke up with a UTI. My pain has been very little. I’ve not needed pain meds or Tylenol. Glad to find your channel.
Hi Debbie! I’m glad you found me too! I haven’t had to crush any meds but I could see how that would be annoying! I’m sorry you have a UTI! Those aren’t fun to deal with at all! Glad you’ve had minimal pain- sounds similar to my recovery. I came of the Tylenol pretty quickly but I will be taking some today. Got in a car accident yesterday and my hand hurts pretty bad from hitting the dash or something.
I am on a weight loss journey as well, I have met with my surgeon and had the scope done on my throat and stomach. I go back to see the nutritionist July 15, also will have bloodwork, ekg and a lung test that day. Then later in the month I will see the psychologist, I’ll see my surgeon again in August and be ready for surgery! I am SO excited and ready to see amazing results! Thank you for the encouragement and updates!
Megan Lewallen I am having gastric bypass. My doctor said it will be better for me since I currently suffer from extremely bad Gerd. Also, when he did the scope he saw that I have a hernia and polyps that he said he will repair those things while he is doing the bypass.
Aww thank u for the update!! Ur doing amazing and look fantastic already!! Eeek they warned us that the hormonal changes can cause your period so i guess its true lol. You always seem so positive and well feeling, like u cant tell ur recovery from surgery at all!
Awww thank you! Yes these hormonal changes are crazy so I am just rolling with the punches at this point. Still taking my birth control as usual so idk what to expect in coming weeks. Maybe 3 periods in one month’s time? Lol With PCOS I am used to things being wonky anyways. This is better than a period for 4 weeks straight like I had a few months ago.
@@meganlewallen8121 ugh yes i feel for u! Several of my friends have pcos and one bled for like 7 months until she got a bit more regulated on meds and such. She even got pregnant after fertility meds and had her miracle baby a year ago after all that:) i was disappointed abt my surgery date being extended for a month bc of covid but im actually okay with it now because i was so embarrassed to be on my period during my procedure. We'll see if i can wait til after surgery to start again lol
My daughter Nora was a miracle PCOS baby! I keep meaning to do a pregnancy story and such about her. It was truly miraculous and timed beyond perfection! Yeah I hate they pushed yours out so far but way to be positive! And it gives you more time to prepare yourself for it too. ❤️
Thank you!!! ❤️ And pancakes sound sooooo good right now! I was finally able to have some eggs and to be honest they weren’t as satisfying as I thought they would be. Lol
