I found my primary indicator during maneuverers was the AOA indicator. If I exceeded AOA limits that I opened up a Pandora's box of, mostly unrecoverable, tricks with spectacular endings. Also trimming the beast was a headache until I could get speed on her.
Hi lian. Love your vids... are you going to do a vid tutorial series on this bad boy? I really enjoy the flight characteristics and find it quite fun to fly...
Simultaneous inspiration, plus a mod can be made much quicker than an actual module. Sometimes the mod-maker doesn't know about upcoming modules (like the F-100, which was announced only recently)
Re:, "...really opening her up...". It officially never happened -but in 1989, at the London International Air Show (London Canada)- it was the 30th Anniversary of the F-4 Flying Brick, and they managed to have in attendance, THIRTY Phabulous Phantoms from all over (incl USAF, USN, USMC and W Germany), and itwas Phanomenal ! What DIDNT happen, was one of the US crews while departing for home base, decided to do just that - " she what she could do....", and went trans/mildly supersonic at low altitide ! ...over populated area . The show...neither government...the squadron-never actually acknowledged this very-illegal action took place -but what did happen was that there was @$30 thousand dollars in repair claims quietly covered for unhappy ownwrs of shattered windows ;)
More Rhino videos? Don't threaten *me* with a good time! Quick dumb question: why wait to 100kts to light the burner? Air flow/compressor issues with the J79s?
Wonder if we could get an Accuracy Summation Script to go along with the Target Impact Tracking Script, to get an average accuracy across multiple runs... =)
The cockpit looks like I'm viewing it through a fisheye lense. I had the opportunity to see the inside of an F-4 cockpit in Madrid and the scale of all the instruments was vastly different. It is the one thing stopping me from enjoying the mod and the reason I'm just gonna wait for the official module.
Each to his own. I am not bothered enough by the effect to not want to try the aircraft. It isn't going to be my daily driver by any means, but flying it is so different than almost any other DCS aircraft that it is worth it to me. The F4 design represents a time in the history of fighter design that is really not represented in DCS at this point and it us really interesting to see just how different it is compared to what came before it, or after. I think a lot of people are put off by the flight model because it feels wrong. But I also think that is because a lot of us are conditioned to the very benign flight models and FBW systems of the later generation jets.
@@Sidekick65 I might just stick it out so. I found it very weird after the Viggen. Which is also very fast but extremely manoeuvrable. But I’ll try the training missions and see.
