The briggs L-heads are like the corollas of the lawn mower world. I've fixed tons of them and only had one with a broken conrod. When you go over the older kerbside briggs machines, it's worth checking the valve clearances and possibly doing a lap and grind as they are usually not seating that well. The head gaskets usually come off clean and can be reused if you are careful.
I like your comment. That's true, this is like a Corolla of the lawnmower. Interesting what you said about valve setting. I will feature another restoration of the internal engine. Cheers, VARIETECH

I have an exact model i found on a clean up! It had 2 stroke fuel in it and wouldn’t run, bit of a clean, oil change and now it’s a reliable workhorse!!
Thanks for watching. We never have a good working mower and I always fix mowers for others. Besides, I can't afford to buy a new one so I rebuild this one for myself. Maybe next time I will sell or give them to those who need most. Your subscription and support is what motivates me to produce more videos. Thanks, VARIETECH
A "kerb" is a British or Australian English spelling for a raised edge side of the road. "Curb" in American english. Other words for it is footpath or roadside. I found this mower on the roadside in a pile of rubbish or trash. Thanks for watching our videos. VARIETECH
Well, in the U.S, we take the Queens English and mix it up in a blender with stupidity and vulgarity..Its what mkes us Americans and why so many illiterates in a voting population would vote for an idiot like Trump
