While you're clearly not privileged in other aspects, that has nothing to do with white privilege. White privilege is systematic with real consequences on the basis of race, not an exemption from suffering on the basis of race. Privilege comes in other forms; not just with race. This person is ranting about white people and white privilege for quite a bit, so I assume that's what you're referring to, but I apologize if you meant privilege as a whole and I am mistaken. I'm sorry you went through some tough stuff.
@@nomoretwitterhandles and whats wrong with that? white people made their country why wouldn't they have an advantage non whites counties are the same thing but yet they attack for being privilege
Even in a field where you live or die PURELY BASED ON PERSONALITY, BECAUSE EVERYTHING ELSE IS A CONSTRUCT... people still blame their inadequacies on perceived handicaps based in racist presumptions, as was hammered into them time and time again in high school and college and is now being hammered into them in elementary and middle school. Good shit.
Yeah it doesn't even make sense cause as far as I know most vtubers are some form of Asian, and ironmouse is latina and one of the biggest vtubers. These people just don't put in the same amount of time and effort as the popular vtubers and wanna blame some strawman
@@CodeeXD Many of the top Vtubers are also gay or bisexual (or at least act or pretend to be) Showing that even your sexuality doesn't matter much in the grand sceme of things
The episode of Fairly Odd Parents where Timmy wished for everyone to look exactly the same is a message that still sits with me. There will always be people who think they're better than everyone and act like jerks no matter what. It's all about mentality.
@@CodeeXD Off topic, but I find it interesting that a lot of people use the term Latino as a kind of race, even though Latino is just a language group, a Latino person can be White, black, Asian or a mixture of all of these.
Bruh that vtuber had the trans flag just plastered on their model. That's a classic tell me you have no personality without telling me you have no personality. They could have been so much more creative with their model like give yourself armor, gown, suit, etc. A vtubers model should give a good idea of what they are about.
I love how everyone wants to blame someone other than themselves. I'm sorry, but not everyone is cut out to be an entertainer, because to be a Vtuber, an actor, or a comedian you have to... you know... be entertaining. I wanted to be a youtuber once upon a time, but it's just a fact that I'm not that entertaining to watch and I moved on. I still have that creative bone and write light novels, but I'm not cut out for being a public figure. I feel like Twitch and Vtubing has become over saturated. Too many people who let a little success go to their heads, and suddenly they think they're the best ever because they aren't COMPLETELY obscure.
You can still be a vtuber without being entertaining. I'll prove it in the future. You just need to not care about anything other says. I mean, I think it was Jo Koy who was asked about his worst stage performance and he answered that it was the 1st stand up. He made the audience clap and laugh and to him, he thought he was killing it that night. When he viewed the replay, it was just one guy laughing at his own joke. And now, he had multiple comedy specials including a movie. Point: Being "entertaining" depends on people. While you might be unentertaining to most, you might be entertaining to some. And that some, will suggest you to their friends who are like them, until your "some" become "more" and then it becomes a community of people who appeciate your "entertainment." It's just a matter of how you get yourself be affected until you get that community you deserve.
It's the thing about the current progressive/woke movement as a whole : it preaches that all of your problems are _not_ your fault (provided you are not white/cis/straight/male), even when it follows from your own bad decisions. They go out of their way to not have any accountability to anyone other than the current "evil" group. That's why the only thing they ever do is blame others for their failures.
Tbh that whole thread didn't make sense at all. The original tweet is complaining about something just to shit on cis white people I guess for the hell of it
And they say if you're a well-known V-tuber, you won't have any problems... No no no! You will just get bullied for playing a wizard game and have your parents get doxxed. Chill. 😌
@@r99azm80 absolutely, thanks to some lewd VTubers, especially Mel who was technically a pioneer they think adding 18+ will bring in attention without realizing that that's not the main selling point, sure you can be lewd but are you entertaining? Do you have anything to offer?
This is a massive case of “Skill Issue” AKA: This person’s shit/mid/meh and can’t compare to the big names, so they scream about some unfair boogeyman that makes everything unfair to JUST THEM, and ONLY them. Cause there’s no way a normal person could ever be disadvantaged.
Indeed. And this person's issue can be easily fixed on top of it. Get off your ass, stop being a whiney loser, and actually put in the work like the big names did. You're an entertainer, so entertain. People don't watch Vtubers to get lectured about how evil and horrible they are. People are not interested in this mindless sloganeering bullshit. They watch because they want to forget the stress of life and take their minds off things for a bit.
You know I get kinda sick of being called things I'm not or being told I hold privilege over others just because of my skin color. Telling someone they have white privilege is racist.
Just the concept itself, in my opinion, is racist. It's basically another form of judging someone else by the color of their skin. Where was my so-called "whit privilege" when I was growing up, hmm?
I find it funny minorities can call white people all sort of horrible things and most people are cool with it because it’s white and they have privilege. I honestly find it bs and those people are the real racist but hide behind their skin color to avoid it and some claim you can’t be racist as a minority which is extra funny. Also since this is the internet, I’m a minority and myself who hate when people use their race as a clutch for not being able to work for something and want things handed to them.
I'd say I've lived a privileged. Not because of skin color, but because my Dad is a Chad. Moved to this country and made a life here. I can't not respect the man.
@@Chaos89P Whats worse is that americans being americans project that shit to other country like europe. Those mf dont understand that just because your white skinned doesnt mean you are the same as another white skinned guy. Like I m the child of two Polish (illegal) immigrants in Belgium. I had fck 0 privilege. Not even white since skin color matters less in european country than nationality and religion lmao
There should be an unspoken law where, if you can prove they accused you of white privilege and you're not privileged, you can cold cock them. Just BAM! Right in the love-me-tenders. It might not stop it, but it'll make the rest of us feel better.
Isn't that basically money laundering? A V-tuber is responsible to put out as much content for the viewer's approval and gratification. Without among those things, clout driven people tends to pour as much rotten eggs into the basket to drive away the birds from the nest. (Wasting precious money and the effort into the model and rigging to amplify the V-tweeter's authority of power and insensible anecdotes)
@@PlaystationTaxation69999 I don't think you know what money laundering is. That's when you use a business to run illegal money through so it's now "legal" money
@@CodeeXD I knew the definition of it, its just I used it in the wrong circumstance. (If it was a company that pulls money within illegal intentions and exploits, then my comment will be altered. In that case, my answer is a no, considering that I used the example of V-tweeter instead of a malicious corporation.) Thanks for the correction.
@@PlaystationTaxation69999 Looks like you're thinking about scammers. Money Laundering is the method of making illegally obtained funds seem legitimate. ie, getting a job so it doesn't look strange when an unemployed drug dealer can afford a nice car.
Sometimes I wonder why SJWs keep repeating basic notions such as "sexism is bad" every day as if they were some sort of complex, deeply intellectual hot takes. Then I see slow people like this Hellspawn Godfather guy and I remember they do it because they're projecting their bigoted past selves onto everyone around them, thinking that coming to the basic realization that "sexism is bad" is somehow difficult for people. The reality is that good, open-minded people come to these realizations on their own.
It sounds like these would-be vtubers aren't interested in playing games, cooking, creating art or music and just chillin' back. Instead they're only interested in complaining, preaching their politics, and finding excuses not to do anything.
3:15 When you complain that people asking for “good vibes only” in their community is a problem, you know you’re the kind of person who WANTS to marinate in their own misery a little too long.
@@kabob0077 I think only ame and mori could somewhat put up a fighting chance (mori not giving a damn and ame’s handling of toxic players in her stream sometimes) but other than that, no other vtubers would survive those games 💀
What are you even talking about? I’m sure when the communist Revolution takes hold the new government will have a department specifically for diverse and inclusive Vtubers to work at
Wow they push positivity when they are trying to entertain people? Even the ones who tend to be super positive will talk big issues if they come up, but usually they just want to vibe because it's nobody else's business what's happening in their lives.
It is like these people forgot what having a "private life" is suppose to be like. And honestly this is exactly why I hated Twitter when it became popular in 2012. Like do I really need to know every facet of your life. Smosh made a joke where Twitter was the equivalent of announcing to everyone you took a big dump in the bathroom. These Vtweeters are essentially doing that, but giving us too much of a view into their disturbed minds. These people badly needed actually therapy, and especially not from a quack psychiatrist that probably is just feeding them what they want to hear rather than actually addressing the problems.
I think it's prolly not about the vtubers live. but more all the ppl in chat that want to trauma dump and stuff demand the vtubers give attention and pity them or something.
@maxxor-overworldhero6730 You know, there is another funny way to put it. I am white, male and heterosexual. I do not 'identify' as any of the three, I simply 'am' them. I only identify as things I feel label me as a person and don't use the things least important about me to describe myself. I am a Gamer and an Anime Fan.
First things first: That base looks pretty sweet! Its always EN VTubers that forget/never understood that a huge reason for why we even watch VTubers is to take our minds off of the real world for a few hours a week/day. Heck, you could apply this to other media too. If I wanted to talk about real world issues, I would do it in the apropriate places with the apropriate people - not with some random anime character online. These people cant separate fantasy from reality, and it only gets worse the more theyre online
Seriously. Just the short clip from them would make me not want to watch not only because it's more stupid twitter anti capitalism stuff as usual but the person just sounds....disinterested and just wanting to push their ideology over wanting to be entertaining. It's ironic how some of these people are so anti religion yet do nothing but preach
@@fluidwolf the clip is the same thing i honestly can get not just from other people like them, but the people taking the piss out of these types too. "oh, the catholic church" yeah, like i didn't hear that one in every standup going back over 20 years. or the anti-religious now. or the actually religious who want to say the church is terrible because it's sold itself out. it's nothing interesting.
Funnily enough, I imagine most people that claim to be loving life and having a great time have actually experienced tons of hardship. However, they tend to avoid complaining about those hardships (at least publicly) because they understand that hardships are just a part of life and they don't feel the need to seek any validation. Just as well, just because someone isn't having a terrible life doesn't mean they are suddenly responsible for someone else's terrible time. If someone were to say "Man, my life sucks" they'd probably get some sympathy. However, normal people don't go online and post paragraphs about how other people are suffering while they are not unprompted, which is what a lot of these conversations seem to be implying to me (that they want CIS white people to just post about the sufferings of other people unprompted).
"Most gay people I know you couldn't tell they're gay" It's almost as if someone's sexuality doesn't have to be their entire identity and there's more to them as a person.
That point you made in the last sentence is ironic. If they self-criticizing, due to their ineffectual and misleading behaviors, then they have to pay for the damages they caused and learning the consequences of how it's affecting others.
Honestly that’s just great. What I don’t get is when you can maybe do more fantastical character design, why not? And yes. Purple is just an awesome color.
@@ichigokage Exaaactly, it's such a potential avenue for some really crazy cool designs! I'd model a monster Vtuber if I knew how to use Blender better! Originally I wanted to just straight up be a monster streamer LOL.
😑 to this day I fail to comprehend the "privileged" concept for the sole reason that after hearing what it is, making correlations to the actuality, and then saying that you see a privilege that isn't "white privilege" you get called either a racist, sexist, transphobe, ect...
Hero hei, you know they deleted because of the backlash they knew they would get. People can be stupid when they are on social media. Also they don't understand that you can go through life and not have people be rude to them all of the time because they interact with people with good manners. It's also not that they attack people Hero Hei because they're homophobic and all of that, and I know you know this already but they attack you because you are right and the things that people with "privilege" say are actually logically sound and are reasonable. I choose to see both sides of a debate and because that's how I learn things but that is how I get people to listen to me before the debate degenerates in to a fight. They just have moral superiority and love to see others miserable because of it.
why do these people assume that every community must be racist in some form to minorities or something, like do they think its not possible to have a community that isn't racist? The entire point of vtubing it to have your own character you act as instead of using yourself as the basis, like people shouldn't know what your skin color is if you are doing it correctly.
You can't say how good your experience in a space is? Is it an obligation now to add ''but others don't have it good''??? What the hell? The miserable want others to be miserable, not a surprise.
I grow up in poverty, and i still live on the poor end of the financial side. My entire life i was living in poor social conditions. Seeing people trying to gaslight us that that we have it better just because our skin color despite all the terrible thing I and many others went through is disgusting. Our family home nearly collapsed on us but guess I'm privileged because I'm white. I went to schools, with nothing in my stomach, driving a bycikle 20km daily, but i guess i had it easy because I'm white. The most annoying part about this entire thing is that the people calling us privileged, are always some rich spoiled mf from U.S or U.K
So... these tweeters are really dead set on rejecting the idea of vtubing being a place for everyone _(regardless of who you are & what you believe)_ to escape all the political/ideological nonsense & just have some fun, huh?
Gee, how privileged I am, constantly struggling to keep financial stability in my life so I don't have to live with family. Gee, I'm so privileged that I still don't even have a car, yet! 😃
"Some of the gayest people I know, you wouldn't be able to tell..." Got a friend like that. Took me 2 years to figure it out. Though in hindsight, the love of pop music and corndogs should have clued me in sooner.
After going through those threads it reminds me of forums a decade back. I see the same talking points of the people that invaded gaming, table top and nearly every other form of entertainment. These people are political activists who care little for hobbies and just invade them to take them over and kick out the people originally in it. For them, everything is about power. Gate keep your hobbies folks.
Ah yes, my privilege of having a bio father who threated to kill me and a mother with bi polar (with a sexual part to it) who wasnt allowed to be left alone to a male child (im a male) and if it hadnt have been for my grand parents who adopted me, i would be dead. My privilege is palpable.
Yep because my grand parents who grew up in poverty and worked their asses off to give my parents (who still grew up in poverty) a good life and then in turn they did the same for me and my sister is somehow a white privelage thing. I swear if someone ever told me that irl i'd probably land in jail.
I'm reminded of an old Jeff Foxworthy joke, for once I want someone whose messed up to go on TV and say (paraphrased) "my momma was great, my dad was great, I'm just a shithead."
"Putting on a show." Yeah. That's it. V-tubers is just another form of entertainment, of escapism. Instead of 'privilige', it's more of whoever is able to keep the escapism going that are more successful. People aren't watching a anime avatar give a lecture about real world problems. People are watching a fox girl or mouse girl or dragon etc 'live their lives' like a slice of life anime. I am more receptible to the girl acting cute than the girl acting like a snob, whether they're xyz or whatever. Let me have my anime tiddies in peace ok?
I have a question. How would you know if a vtuber is white or black or green (alien, possibly?) or asian or a fish or some sort of mutation (I'm just joking at this point)... Really, how would you know the skin color of a vtuber if they never did a face reveal? Someone talking about white privilege (with or against) to an entity/character that you cannot tell the skin color is the most whitest thing I've ever heard.
yeah, it's basically like that interviewer saying the guy she was talking to had white privilege etc., without even knowing the guy she was talking to was a black man
Ah yes, all that privilege I grew with in poverty, no assistance from government organizations or the wider community and having to work my back bare to get where I am today, which still isn’t great, but better than it was in my youth. Oh yes and don’t forget all the scholarships only Caucasians like me could apply to for college. Yup, like the uuuuuh…wait. Which scholarship was for caucasians only again? Oh right there isn’t one.
@@RedDragonfire No they're also vtubers my guy The reality is majority of vtubers (at least the ones on Twitch) are extremely woke. Yes they tweet a lot but they stream also. This isn't a case of a loud minority
It's funny how these people constantly talk about others' privilege while never addressing their own. Too busy blaming every one else for their inadequacy.
I mean this with all due love and understanding. I myself am on the autism spectrum. My pet theory at the moment is that, as some have noted, there is a correlation between autism spectrum, and tending to not identify readily with the standard gender norms. And there seems to also be correlation with autism spectrum and transness -- there is not 100% overlap by any stretch, just a higher-than average correlation is all, by however many percentage point I don't know. And folks on the autism spectrum tend to have a big "justice" angle for how they see and react to the world. We tend to go off about things that don't sit right with us. I wonder how much of these disagreeable social justice takes are from folks literally on the autism spectrum. From what I know of autism, and my own experience, yeah we do tend to go off about stuff and have some added difficulty with perspective-taking to see the damage or hurt our strong reactions could cause before getting into them... Add to that some anonymity and the ease of reaching people (online discourse/twitter) leads to these bad takes being seen by a lot of people very quickly. The other bit of it is, I would think being trans can be a really painful experience at the worst times. Pain makes it hard to have the patience to deal with other people's perspectives, especially people who feel like they're still antagonizing you on an ongoing basis... It becomes easier to just be upset and harder to take a balanced perspective, and I sympathize with that to some extent. Who here has never posted a wrong take, or something we changed our mind on after posting? I'd be surprised if anyone did. And It's not that these issues don't matter. It's that we're not all experts and we can all be wrong from time to time. Sometimes the anger is misplaced because the premise of the argument just falls apart. I do think it's important to think through whether an argument is actually productive, and not just randomly talk into the void on your social account, otherwise whoever reads it will just get weary and tired rather than learning anything. Eh. Unless you clearly label your post as just venting or whatever. At which point do pretty much whatever you want. But at some point a random tweeter with a bad take just needs to get ignored. We all have bad takes now and again. I just wish this sort of these aimless and vague "find someone who is doing privilege wrong" stuff wasn't so common, and honestly so lazily thought through sometimes. Moral of the story: Think before you tweet, I guess. But also: Ignore the trolls, sometimes people just make questionable posts.
I think they're complaining that big VTubers don't talk about real-life issues and just focus on feel-good wholesome stuff.. It's the typical "you should use your platform responsibly" that comes a lot from leftist.. And by "responsibly" they mean "talk about the issues I care about and the politics I support"
These people treat the internet like everyone is a white person until they post their skin pics and even then they'll argue about the lighting and shade of the skin.
