Yea, so far deltarune is my fav so far with the two chapters it has

this is why i'm so hyped for the rest of deltarune and why i think it will definitely surpass undertale. toby put so much thought, time and effort into undertale and it turns out, that was just him trying to prove to himself that he can make a full game like that, and deltarune is his actual dream project, that's been in his head since 2011, like bro what is this man planning??

first, don't be sorry about nerding about this!! second, strongly disagree. i don't think "your choices don't matter" is the theme or lesson of deltarune. if anything, i think it's about proving that idea *wrong* and determining your own fate, even if it seems like you can't do anything against destiny itself. sort of like "it's kill or be killed" in undertale, where, if you make the right choices, you can get the perfect happy ending where nobody dies, even if it initially seemed like you *had* to take someone else's soul in order to get home.

@@ediblepencil494 Yeah, but I think both stories give a strong lesson of control, in Undertale you control so many things, including your interactions with everyone else, in Deltarune, even the smallest and stupidest thing, like your hearth, your determination, gets ripped apart in the end

@@leonel392 2 words, chapter two Choices do matter, you might say it isn't by technicality like "it doesn't change the ending so it doesn't matter" but that's the same logic Toby used when saying a certain place is very small

@@mariotheundying I feel like it might be like one game La Pucelle (and its latest port subtitled Ragnarok) Where you can determine the ending of chapters but it's not based on the previous chapters. Which is ironically comparable to the difference between Deltarune and Undertale. Because the main story's ending can't be changed. But it has an alternate timeline postgame story that is heavily based on actions you take. But that game is much less clear about how you get certain endings. As some chapters have you do things in a weirdly specific way to get the good ending. (But only the alternate story is actually good and evil in that game, the regular story is good or bad outcomes, not good and evil).
