I’m convinced that the orks and vampire coast are the only ones having any fun in Warhammer Fantasy. I mean Luther taught his zombies to shoot guns and sing. Which do you think he’s more proud of. Vampire necromancer pirate vs Ninja rat men. Why did this *never* happen? It would be absolutely hilarious to me if they brought him and the other vampires pirates back as the followers of the Ocean god from Fantasy reborn in exchange for soul protection from Nagash. The Deepkin hate them because they tried to bring back their god, and never did yet the vampire coast get near unconditional protection and rewards and all they have to do not screw the ocean god over.

He is actually one of my favorite campaigns. The zombie hordes with handguns, when buffed, will rip through anything and everything with AP damage. The depth guard kill most things very quickly, and queen bess can wipe almost any infantry with 1 or 2 shots. The only thing I thought was bad was the siege battles. Then I realized I was playing them wrong. Don’t throw bodies at walls they certainly won’t be able to take. Just bring 5 units of mortars to any siege battle and it will without a doubt go in your favor as you bombard everything and the enemy can’t shoot back.

well, mannfred sees every fellow vampire as a rival for power who needs to be removed from existence for his further ascension. in the end times he personally told vlad von carsteins ghost that he would use nagash as a tool and go ahead and try to supersede the great necromancers works, seating himself on the throne for world domination afterwards, letting himself be worshipped as a god and rule and reshape everything after his own will for all of eternity. arrogance, pettiness and narcicissm supreme: mannfred NOT betraying you is considered to be an exemption from the rule.

Mannfred is actually a really interesting character. Highly suggest you watching the Lorebeards episode on Vlad von Carstein if you want to see the more nuanced sides of him

I personally love the idea that the difference between the counts and the coast is that they achieve the same thing with entirely oposite ideals. The counts represent total domination, goin so far to even dominate death itself. They are so dominant that thier troops are basically mindless automatons. Meanwhile the coast is complete and total freedom( even from death) im pretty sure coast zombies are still exhibit thier own unique personalities, and vibe with thier captain and admirals

There is no practical difference between necromancy and vampire magic (necromancy was later renamed the Lore of Vampires in a really dumb decision), all vampires are also necromancers by default because they are magical beings with an innate affinity for being necromancers, however some vampires don't try very hard and are pretty bad at it while others like Harkon have had something happen to them to make them worse necromancers. Nagash was just a very powerful necromancer, his magic was not in and of itself unique compared to other necromancers or vampires (aside from the fact he created necromancy and his spells were far more powerful). I imagine if we were to represent him in his pre-End Times glory, and before the Skaven got him, you could represent him with the Lore of the Lichemaster, which is a unique variant created by Heinrich Kemmler, when he nearly defeated the Wood Elves and nearly became as powerful as Nagash. His Lore was unique to him, but it still contained the same necromancy spells with various upgrades to all of them, so that they either hit harder, resurrected more undead, or provided a unique effect atop their usual bonuses. I forget if Sotek said the trap was set for Luthor or not, but the trap itself was just there to prevent anyone from getting the treasure. Pancreas is also right in that Luthor's personalities fighting for control was a tabletop rule, he would occasionally just wander in circles or stand there as his mind was fought over, and if he was ever hurt, all the other personalities would attempt to leap into action to try and take his mind for themselves. A fun rule for him as well is that his zombies only hit with their guns on 6's, and if you rolled a 1 they would either shoot themselves in the head or their guns would explode. Pancreas doesn't mention it, but one of the reasons Luthor isn't a world power is because he's very paranoid. Logistics are not his strong suit, and if he attempted to make open warfare on his own, his forces would probably fall apart. Luthor growing bat wings and the End Times stuff is mostly... questionable to say the least. Prior to the End Times, while he is very dangerous, he did not have this nation-challenging naval force that is depicted, and seeing him suddenly get it would be like hearing that Madagascar suddenly had the military might to conquer all of Africa. That's before we get to him transforming which he shouldn't be able to do because of his magic black hole issue. Mannfred'a actions in the End Times don't make sense because the one thing he isn't supposed to be, is stupid. The End Times takes the smartest and most conniving of the Von Carstein vampires and makes him a bumbling buffoon. Likewise Luthor's death is so dumb, the dude being immune to magic being killed by magic is like the Dwarf High King dying because he forgot to close a door and the authors forgot that his armour has runes specifically made to prevent his death in the exact manner it happened.

Having to deal with Itza is a good way to increase your blood pressure with Luthor, cause of Lord Kroak and Gor-Rok

This is a summary of the major vampire bloodlines in Warhammer Fantasy since this video and Pancreas's other video about Mannfred doesn't really cover or explain the differences very well: Lahmian: Founded by Neferata, Queen of the City of Lahmia and the first vampire. The standard teen-fantasy vampire bloodline of young, good-looking, generally female vampires who have secret societies and cabals in human cities and settlements. Strigoi: Founded by Ushoran, who was either Neferata's brother or spymaster, lore conflicts. The most bestial and mutated of the bloodlines. They don't like Lahmians. Necrarch: Founded by W'soran, former Nehekaran Priest who grew obsessed with Nagash's power. The vampires most dedicated to the study of magic. They are the least dependent on blood as they feed off of the magic of death itself, able to go months or even years without drinking. The side effect is that they start to become skeletal and corpse-like, often being confused for Liches. Blood Dragon: Founded by Abhorash, The Dragon Slayer. Originally, Neferata's bodyguard and capable of killing vampires even before becoming one. After his transformation, he basically became an Anime character. Found a way to free himself from the thirst by killing and drinking dry a dragon. His followers have a twisted sense of honor where they only drink blood of the worthy, challenging human knights and warriors and drinking them, or turning them into a fellow Blood Dragon. They do not get along with Necrachs since they look down on magic, though there are more than a few necromancers among them, like Luthor or the Red Duke. Von Carstein: Founded by Vlad Von Carstein, also known as Vashanesh or Ankhat, more lore conflicts. They are not very popular since the other bloodlines see them as pompous and arrogant, but they lack any real blood-feuds or rivalries with the other bloodlines, so they serve as mediators or even leaders at times when different bloodlines are forced to work together. There are other bloodlines, like the Jade-Blooded in Cathay, but there is very, very little lore about them to the point there is entry in the wiki debating their canonicity.

It wasn't really magic that melted him, Isabella was possessed by a Great Unclean One who's aura of rot and disease basically decayed undead nigh instantly the moment they got close to her, and while being anti-magic is his whole schtick, he isn't anti-decomposition. Only Vampire who was able to resist her aura was Vladdy daddy, because his special ring of immortality was basically holding him together and healing just as fast as his meat was turning moldy and sloughing off the bone.
