Also the history of McDonald's beginnings wasn't so much that they had great hamburgers, their big thing used to be their French Fries, which were supposedly very good, pre-soaked in cold brine, deep fried in a tallow mixture and then salted with finely powdered salt. It was changed in a response to a pressure campaign by well meaning fools like Phil Sokolov, who insisted vegetable oil would be healthier, when it's actually considerably worse for your health. This is a concept which was promoted by the sugar industry with a bought study, as to obfuscate and distract from how sugar is great at making you fat. Supersize Me came along a lot later, and that one was very intentionally fraudulent from every angle. The now recently deceased filmmaker Morgan Spurlock "made a point" to eat only McDonald's for a month as to show the health effects, and he came away with a massive weight gain and cirrhosis of the liver. When people looked at his daily caloric intake from that experiment, it was insanely high, and they were really struggling to get anywhere close to his stated numbers (somewhere in excess of 4000). Nobody could force themselves to eat that much. Then it's revealed that Spurlock was an alcoholic who was drinking copious amounts of whiskey every day, including during the month of eating nothing but McDonald's, which would explain both his extreme caloric intake and his liver health. There's a lot to criticise McDonald's for, but a lot of the changes they've done are in response to various stupid outside pressures.

Thank you for the stream, Uruka! 💙💙💙 I came in towards the end, when the discussion about how the quality of McDonald's has fallen over the years was taking place. McDonald's used to be something that my parents used to look forward to. When my dad would come back from an overseas deployment in the Navy, one of the first things he would do was go to McDonald's (this was in the 70s). Little kid me in the 90s always looked forward to McDonald's as a treat, but I think the quality really started to take a nose dive during the late 90s/2000s. Greed ruins everything it touches. BTW, your violin videos are so beautiful! 💙💙💙 They are one of the many sources of comfort I can rely on during bouts of insomnia! 💙💙💙 Thank you for those, as well! Uruka Love! 💙💙💙

Unfortunately the McDonalds today is not the very same one from decades ago. Years of cutting corners has made its cheap but good quality food go completely out of the window. Burger patties are now thinner than the pickle slices it came with, french fries no longer cooked in tallow and pre soaked in brine, and the recipes being tampered with and turned into slop. Worst of all it's prices are ridiculously higher than it's worth. You're way better off eating at a wendy's burger king or preferably the local burger restaurant. Same price but way better food.

I honestly stopped eating McDonald's cause not only did they screw up my order so much but also their stuff is borderline not good and mid. Burger King and Wendy's pretzel baconator, only places I eat at if I wanted fast food burgers. Thanks for the stream even tho I missed it!

She gave it a mid, that's the best it will ever get imo. I don't like the big mac, middle bun, sauce or the onions. All of it. I'd take a lil burger or a cheese burger, even add in an extra meatpaper if ya want. Those are fine. They got thicker meat too I think, it might be ok. Nuggets & sauce, sundae, fries, or just a cone if the machine ain't broke. Those are what McD does well.

Egg mcmuffin ain't bad and sometimes with their hash brown and oj in the morning. . . might as well. Mc rib I do fall victim to buying those too. Almost forgot I got to make some home made egg mcmuffin as I got one left.

The McDouble is also good, pretty much the same just smaller patties. I will say I think every burger is better as a double, I don't care how big the patties are I just need two of them.

@@hornmonk3zit I can give or take doubles, but when the patty is doubled on the QP the end result is kind of like a half-decent single patty, they retain more beef flavor and moisture. It's fixing McD's otherwise kinda dry and boring thin patties. I don't particularly care for the dressing on the Big Mac, and the salad isn't very good (I think it contributes to how the Big Mac always seems to be kinda cold), but I do kind of like the Heinz ketchup and the diced onion they do on their regular small burgers, so with the Double QP it's essentially those sized up into a large hamburger. Also getting extra slices of pickles is nice. They tend to skimp on the ketchup though so I usually ask for extra.

@@0neDoomedSpaceMarine I will agree the double QP has a juicier beefy flavor, the McDouble is different but I think at least the ones I've been getting are on par. The McDouble is closer to an old school burger place like In N Out, the double QP is like a Dollar Tree version of Five Guys, I just think they're both equally as good it just depends on what I'm in the mood for and how many calories I want. If you want a truly bad burger I had a Whopper Jr. thrust upon me yesterday and it was rough. I think I'm gonna go to Culver's today just to wipe it from my memory.

on occasion ya sometimes feel like eating grill the burnt meat does hit that spot I mostly like their OG chicken sandwich, processed chicken patty on a sub bun. Their lil wheel tots/hashbrown things and a ham and egg croissant. That breakfast ain't too bad.
