I would totally lose the nozzle down the tube haha, another great DIY Beetle vid 👍
@SladesVWBeetle
@SladesVWBeetle 3 года назад
😂😂😂 Honestly that did happen to me one time. I had to go to the other end, have my buddy standing at the front. And blow air very hard through the back. Thankfully the nozzle came back out. 😳 Thanks for the kind comment!!

MAN SLADE!!! Every time I watch you I find myself doing some resto to my super. It’s better to make sure it’s done right than to keep driving around and it could be a disaster waiting to happen. Thanks for the great teaching and you can never repeat yourself enough......it’s easy to overlook the simple things. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

Thank you for the tips and pointing this out. Imagine spending money for a new carb or even a rebuilt one, and all that stale gas and rust clogging up the carb. Brake clean, throttle cable, and some time vs clogged carb jets. And also awesome find on the Big Lots sign. Looks great. Have a great day Friend until next video.

Thank you my friend, I just try to do things to help others so they realize what can go wrong and sometimes it’s on a very easy fix. I was surprised messing around at big lots to find some signs like that that really made my day.

@@SladesVWBeetle Always a pleasure seeing your videos. I’ve scoped out some from over a year ago for reference. Appreciate the advice. My wife shops Hobby Lobby. Sometimes they have good signs also, but alittle pricey. Another Jim’s swap coming October. Maybe see you there
@SladesVWBeetle
@SladesVWBeetle 3 года назад
@@acdcfan5672 I have not been to Hobby lobby yet, there’s one about 45 minutes from me I believe. I probably should go there. My daughter-in-law told me I would have a blast in there. That means Ill be using my credit card too much. 😁 I truthfully I’m going to try to make Jim’s in October they just sent me something in the mail. Of course I won’t be in a Volkswagen. But I’ll bring my jeep so I can buy stuff and fit it in the back. 😁

I just want to thank you for your video on cleaning fuel lines in the tunnel. I have a 74 Super beetle convertible, and it kept stalling and I realize that it was a fuel issue. I did what you suggested and it works great. Finally getting to run without stalling. thanks again. Ken.

you can hook up drill to cable to gently clean the line while carb cleaner is squirted in

Yes you’re absolutely right Alex! It came clean pretty fast, which actually surprised me. That’s what I do with the heat risers on the intake manifolds. Use the drill method with a clutch cable. It truly works great.

@SladesVWBeetle
@SladesVWBeetle 4 месяца назад
Just make sure to follow the steps which you already know that. However, when you’re finished, I would try to get a light inside of the tunnel since it could be that bad. Cap one end. With a vacuum cap. Blow some fluid inside of there while watching inside of the tunnel and see if it’s leaking anywhere. I’m going to run an external one on mine. I did it on the last car. I’m going to do a video on that. Those old lines inside the tunnel sometimes can be too far gone. Thank you so much for being here. But don’t run an external and directly under that tunnel. You don’t want it to bottom out

Great video as always! I would be careful with the suggestion of using canned air since most of it contains bittering agents now-a-days to keep people from inhaling it. I'm not sure if those would be good to blow down into a fuel line.
