Hi! Please, I need constructive data of the decagonal "wheel" (10 sides) that you built for the restoration of the Kombi / bus, where it is possible to turn the vehicle and have access to all sides. Man she's gonna have all the trimmings when she's said, and done. Gonna be one sweet looking bus. Good for Mic. Just goes to show if your willing to follow your dreams and put an effort into it, you will get what you desire. Know this though you can't just sit on your ass and dream only, dreams only come to reality with action. Happy for you bud. I always wanted a Tacoma Truck, a nice one, so I wasn't able to work due to a disability because of a serious injury! So I bought used vehicles and got the them fixed by a body shop. Then sold them its took me about 5 years but afterwards I ended up being able to get my dream Truck! If there's a will there's a way. All you need to do is work towards your dreams. You will have lots of setbacks and at times and it will be stressful. Yet in the end you'll have what you worked for.

Mic, I am so sorry for your and Lori's loss of Zack. I know the feeling because we Lost our beloved cat Babee too but from kidney disease in May. We were at the hospital with him when we decided it was best for him because he was suffering so much 😔 and he passed in my arms. Til this day I still struggle with it probably because we adopted him since he was only a few weeks old. 😢 I would have loved to help you with the Kona but life decided to show us it's bad side. Keep up with the great work on your vids and with Kona. 🤙Aloha bradda

Thank you Steve, oh man that's tough... Lori adopted Zach when he was a few weeks old too and I met Zach when I started dating Lori in 2013, Zach was 5, built a really good relationship. Getting help with Kona project would be so much fun 😊👍🏼 Yeah wish always good side. Thank you, looking forward to get back to the shop to get project going, have a good week! Kudos for being on site at Skinners and helping get things moving more quickly Its those little jobs you are getting on with that take up so much time! So, I found your videos documentary very touching. It reminds me of when my dad was alive and me and my father restored a 1961 VW bug from the ground up. I was very fortunate that he was a old school auto body repair/ painter. The fabulous documentary your doing is amazing! Some of the work they do is truly a dying art of restoring old VW of any car models. I cannot wait to see your upcoming videos of your finish VW Bus. Stay safe and healthy!

Hi Mic, I am a big fan of you in Sweden and always long for a new episode. I allways watch your episodes and followed the restoration of your VW Bus from episode 1 to this one. I'm so sorry for your loss of your beloved cat Zach. I myself have two cats, they are sister and brother and are eight years old. The latest episode, 28 was recorded in early spring 2020 and the Corona virus had not hit so hard yet. I hope you and your loved ones are well and that you have escaped this awful thing in the world. I have the same year and model bus as yours, Mitch. Except mine is NOT a "Walk-thru." You have influenced me to begin restoring my bus as well. I'm currently rebuilding the front end. I have always wanted to convert my bus into a 21 window but I didn't think it was possible. I want to have my body work done at Skinner Classics. Those guys really know what they're doing. Where did you purchase your new top with all the windows? I need one of those! We have really enjoyed watching all the video's. Keep up the good work!

Sorry for the loss of your cat. Always hard to loose 4 legged friends. Almost seems like he waited for you to return. I’m glad you got to see him. On positive note your van looks awesome. I have a 61’ Metropolitan I inherited when my brother passed. Watching you work on Kona, you have shown me some neat tricks for painting parts like putting a box over fresh painted parts to keep them from getting particles in the paint. Looking forward to what comes next!

Mitch, I am so sorry about your cat. I am glad you were able to get home to see him before he passed. I remember March 16th very well, we had to shut down too and I had a new employee starting that day (it was a Monday). I was wondering what was going to happen to Kona once March 16th hit. Hope you were able to get back to Skinner's sometime during the pandemic because I found this time to be the perfect time to work on my Bus and Double cab as well. Btw it was awesome seeing you in the end of the woodstock bus movie! You are quite the artist ;-)

Mitch, you guys did alot. I was surprised that before the roof was removed you didn't have to put more bracing or the belly pan in to stabilize the bus structure. I don't have the deep pockets for my bus. They do real quality work! During our big shutdown I got to walk my dogs and finish the metal work on my bus. I look forward to seeing the roof installed. Thinking of you both at this sad time. Zack was part of your family. We lost our cat 2yrs ago, got hit by a car, we still think of him & miss him. Some days are better than others. Just remember the fun times you had with him. We always recall a fond memory of our Max. I came home from work one day & heard a lot of hissing & barking round the side of garage. I went to see what was happening when suddenly a little Jack Russel dog came running out closely followed by our Max. I don't think the dog knew what he let himself in for. God Bless. Take care

MicBergsma: You could be proud of your ancestry! Did you know, that the VW bus was a Dutch invention? Ben Pon, from Holland and being the biggest importer of VW's in the world (at least in Europe) suggested one evening, sitting in a restaurant after a meeting, to the chiefs of VW, while making a drawing on a beer coaster, that the Beetle could have a commercial use also. So, this drawing was the start of something big and succesful! Meaning that your Kona-the-bus was more or less born in the Netherlands on a beer coaster... wow, jeezus...

full restorations is take a ton of work and a long time to complete. this series is for people who enjoy the whole process. . . not just one video and done. if you don't like it no one is forcing you to watch 🤷🏼‍♂️

Sorry to hear about Zach buddy, I'm in a similar boat - my family cat passed away a couple of months ago at the age of 15, which with me being 25 is more than half my life, but because I've moved away and with covid etc I've not been home for about a year and a half. It sucks because people understand but animals you can't explain it to. All the best to you and Lori, you gave him a good life and at least now he's not suffering. On a lighter note the bus is looking great but after binging the whole series over the last few days I'm sad now that I have to wait for more episodes like everyone else. Can't wait to see you out there again and hopefully the next block will be the last to get the bus finished, or at least a rolling, driveable state where you can maybe get it home to do the final touches and furnishings.

Saddest episode to date. Having to leave kona... I know what you did was the right thing to do though. Hopefully we kick this covid_19 in the butt.
