The only way a Cali can be stolen is lifted onto a flatbed or if someone steals your key. All other items such as bearlocks or steering wheel disks are just to give personal peace of mind or some sort of visual deterrent. Not only is it very unlikely your Cali will be stolen, unless they are pros, it’s actually impossible. Hiding your key is the best security feature.
Hi Chris, thanks for all the great videos ! I have a similar question as someone else - how do you disable the anti-tow alarm when travelling on a ferry on the T6.1 Beach?
My security tip is to own an old caddy camper that you keep in a bit of a state with plenty of crisp crumbs and dog hairs visible and no one wants it. (It's the reverse macbook ploy.)
Hi Chris, we have a 6.1 Ocean. How do you disable the anti-tow alarm, when travelling on a ferry? We used the function in the Doors and Unlocking menu, to disable internal sensors, but WeConnect still notified us the alarm was going off while on the ferry. I can’t see anything else in the handbook.
Hi Chris, my question is when you leave a dog in my Ocean 6.1…..my understanding is you switch off the internal monitoring on the main panel but it does not stay off if you are in and out of the vehicle. Is there another option using the key fob. On my last car a BMW X5 you pressed the locking button twice and that switched off the internal monitoring …is that the same in my vehicle ?? A lot easier than having to remember to switch it off on the panel every time
Our 2020 4Motion has a spare. Has it been left off new models to bring them from van weight down to car weight with the associated speed limit advantages?
Three reasons they don’t come with them anymore. 1 - Cost saving 2 - Allows them to have higher MPG for testing 3 - Environmental factors with millions of wheels under cars that in all likelihood are never used or needed.
