In this weeks episode we are getting the Subaru ez30(6 cylinder)engine and Subaru 5speed trans fitted into Ryan’s ghia. I’m starting to get a list of parts to get this car rolling.

You running the subaru gears setup? We did the original test fit of the subaru gears conversion in my shed here in Australia over 10 years ago.

Yep Subaru gears setup in this one and that’s awesome I started talking to them shortly after that about my bug but they were scared it wouldn’t hold up to the power

I’m not sure how much room the corvairs have this is a pretty big motor but it could be made to work

I am so glad to have found your channel. I am starting a channel with a build of a 1928 Morgan RIP GN special hillclimb racer but I have a Porsche 914 that I would love to put a larger engine in and a wide body kit.

This build is gonna be a beast indeed. What subaru engine do you recommend for a 1969 bug? Keep up the great work there!

If you are going for power I’d say a ej20 turbo or ej25 turbo if you just wanted a good gas saver with a little bit of power I’d say a non turbo ej22 or a ej25

Should be pretty awesome it’s not turbo but should still make around 230-250hp

Hi , what do you do to fix the rotation of the suby gear box ?

So subarugears sells a kit to flip the pinion gear and the 2wd lockout not really cheap but it works really nicely

It has a Subarugears reverse ring and pinion gear the customer built 90% of it

@@uberkooledgarage oh thanks for replying 💙 can i ask one more question how is the shifter attached in this case do you use the original vw shifter or is it modified hope you could answer in your free time

@@gamedodo5397 the stock shifter is used it will just have a adaptor in the back that hooks to the Subaru trans 👍
