Thank you for the video. It exposed to me the amount of dirt and fluid I will encounter while doing this service procedure. Placing rag around is necessity to avoid getting fuel on poly V belts and rubber seals as not all of them are immune to fuel. Before watching your video I was pretty sure that being careful can be enough. Also, replacing 'old fuel' and wipin the inside of the can is a good idea. Just a few moments for those who is going to perform the same procedure: - order of a tightening of bolts is pretty much the same as on the wheels - tightening force of bolt, according to ELSA, is 5Nm for this particular case. So you should be fine even if you are not that strong as golf Wagen
completed the service, oil change and all filters changed. Car is running great now. Thanks for your great videos. Next up is a Mk2 1.6 petrol Focus for a service.
I think there is no need to call somebody a clown if he made a mistake....any mistake. If the person taking a "swig" will not smell the difference between diesel and a lemonade once he will open the bottle ......he is trying to show how everyone of us can save some money. That's not a crime. Well done golf Wagen. Good response on that "comment" as well.
Nice video. This is correct procedure. I saw other videos with incorrect procedures. First, it is necessary to attach the filter insert onto the top cover of the filter and then immerse the filter insert into the diesel. During the immersion of the filter insert itself, unfiltered fuel will flow onto the clean side of the filter insert. Then there is a risk of damaging the fuel injectors.
Po złożeniu całości z częściowo zalanym filtrem dobrze jest bez odpalania silnika, kilka razy podpompować paliwo celem wyeliminowania powietrza. Dzięki z dobry instruktarz ! Pozdrawiam z Polski.
You dont have to put fuel in a bottle an than in cup for the filter, only turn on the key 2 or 3 times but dont start the car, the fuel pump pumps the fuel to the cup for the filter.
Before you start your car after changing any filter, you need to turn ignition on and off 3 or 4 times so that the pressure can built in the system as the lines aren't full. Start the car and it'll run alot more smoothly.
@@Corsa15DT if your pump did not work or was not working properly. You would know about it. Also if your changing it to a new pump then yes it would work....
Whenever I change fuel filter my car doesn’t start. I do all the steps shown but it won’t have it. So I end up spraying easystart into the air pipe and eventually it does the job
yep, pretty good, informative, so many home mechanics never wear rubber gloves though, personally I don't even reach for a spanner unless my hands are protected, my missus hates dirty fingernails and ingrained oil on me...so...
Buen video.
you can see here how you change a modern filter with ancient knowledge about fuel filters ;) hier sehen sie den Wechsel eines modernen Kraftstofffilters mit traditionellem Wissen. better to do more than less. but the modern filters have no cartridge any more, they do not need to be filled manually during and or after changing, and cleaning the cartridge in the inside is very nice, bonus points for that ! after i saw you putting fuel on the rubber ring i knew you did this procedure before, but i think it was an old car...
The1Rausch The do need filling after changing otherwise you will run the high pressure fuel pomp on air and without lubrication for a while. Use vcds to fill it or manually by hand.
I hate to change oil on 2015 Golf TDI. Is it possible to turn the housing 180 degr. or relocate the filter with a different housing? It will make me very happy. Please let me know. Thanks
Mam Jettu 1K2 akurat s motorom BXE a preto je mi tej tvojej naozaj luto. Pozeram obcas tvoje videa a sposob akym to servisujes je casto krkolomny. Valat naftovy filter po zemi nieje najlepsie a vobec liat naftu do nadobky filtra je zbytocne....
16 minutes for only one filter oh my God you so good... Do all service it takes one day 😂😂😂😂😂 and when you do something wrong you came to us mechanic's and don't want to spend much 🤦♂️
Dont put a new filter on ground. Rubber seal should get some diesel. DO not rev up engine, especially direct after filter replacement. But really, never do it when engine just been started. Never. Try cleaning top of lid etc before removing.
Joytubeification Incorrect. On these vw’s particularly Mk6s (yes I’m aware this is a mk5) revving the engine initially after changing a fuel filter is essential, in the mk6s it’s part of the process for changing the filter, you run the risk of air locking the hpfp if you do not.
@@silage6920s I don't know where you got that nonsense from? I've changed hundreds of VW fuel filters and and I've never revved any of them and had no problems
find to on e-shop. for example 1.6FSI 85kW www.autodoc.sk/febi-bilstein/1876571 you will find e-ship. insert your car tip for example vw golf 5 1.6 TSI 85kW
stephen matanda. Yes I can help. The filter is located just under the sink next to the bleach bottle. Use a mop to unscrew and tight bolts. Jobs a good’n
Bad work my friend ;( Never put a new filter on the dirty ground! An the fuel on the ground is not cool... And why du you fill the diesel in the filterhousing? There could bei dirt in the fuel. And never rev a engine when you start it. In the first seconds there is no oilpressure - you will kill the engine!
Hi there, i noticed you asked about why he filled the diesel in the filter housing..... I've watched a few videos on this and its the only way to get around not having a computer to prime the fuel pump so that when you try to start the car it turns over right away with out any air bubbles. I think if your using new fuel from most respectable gas stations it should be clean enough as it still has to go through the filter no?
Noah1985HA No. Did you have changed a dieselfilter? If not, so you schould do this and look into the filter housing. Diesel is a dirty fuel. You will find a lot of dirt in the housing and in the filter. His fuelsystem has two lines and remove the air by itself. just turn on the ignition few times on before starting the engine.
werkscult ya I've done it one time on my 2015 golf tdi so far but have been told there are 2 methods to priming the fuel pump so that it doesn't take extra cranking effort. 1 method is to use a computer to prime the fuel pump, the other method is to fill the fuel filter canister to the almost very top. i will point out others have said to put a gloved finger over the center of the filter hole so you don't get "dirty fuel" past the filter as I think that the unfiltered fuel soaks through the outside of the filter to the center which then is now clean which is where I believe the now filtered fuel is taken from (the center column through the filter) so if you pour fuel In to the filter canister but cover the top hole so the fuel has to go through the filter it should avoid dirty fuel from getting further into the system. but I will admit I'm not a certified mechanic so this is just what I'm under the impression of.. can you tell me if we dont put fuel into the canister and don't have a computer if we simply turn the key 1 click to activate the car with out starting it .. will that completely fill the canister and "prime" the fuel pump causing no excess cranking?
Wear gloves next time. Will help save more brain cells. SEriously, I don't get the part with the extensive measuring - the parts were clearly identical, and they should be if the right part was ordered. I get if the parts suppliers are nutorious with giving you the wrong part, and you finding out exactly when you were in the middle of the project. But I think that was wasted time. but I always appreciate people making videos.
