Hello. Im looking for modification in my mk5 2008. I got 12v in lighter plug when i turn ignition key. When i turn it off - power in lighter socket is gone and it is normal in mk5 like mine. But I want to change it, i want have 12v in lighter plug when my car is open. And i want to turn it off automatically when i lock my car with key. Do You know how to do it? I got vcds but i cant find anything what can comand lighter plug..
Not possible. At least easily. The socket is controlled by a relay (which is under the steering wheel) which switches on Terminal 30. You can do a complete rewiring to achieve that but you need to dig into wiring diagrams deeply to see what terminals have power only when the car is unlocked. Also, forget about your vcds as it has nothing to do with all of this at all (and besides, the further, the less useful that tool is)
