Just did mine, smoked black, appreciate the tutorial. Heated it up…used pliers from the inside to pull the reflector, taking my time heating as I went. Eventually the orange ones broke…and I bent the rest of the plastic. Peel off remaining adhesive, used goo bee gone 😂, rubbing alcohol to wipe inside as well… and then stick the new ones one. It’s doable. My deep black pearl GTI looks great with this minor detail fixed.
Awesome stuff!! Have a mk8 myself and Just ended up wrapping those markers. Question. What was the process like for the purple strip inthe lights and across the light bar
If he's using Badge Skins, then it's pretty easy. I blacked out the accent color bar on my mk8 and it was very simple; took like ten minutes in total and would have been less if I'd had any experience with it. The headlight accent I can't speak on, though. Badge Skins have tutorials on most of their products, so if you're nervous you can watch the install video first.
Car looks clean! Where did you buy all the purple badging, the eyelids with the color strip, and the front grille purple overlay? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
@@Trippymk8Now that you’ve done the job, do you think you could have done it without removing the tire? Mine came in the mail but I really don’t want to remove the tire haha
@@Trash_Panda_Manifesto i mean, it’s possible with the wheel on I seen people say they did it without on fb mk8 group if I had to do it again I could do it with the wheel on for sure I just wasn’t using the right method in the beginning
@@Trash_Panda_Manifesto & about the brakes, I painted them myself, I ordered 2k purple from era paints & that did the job. I wish i documented everything I’ve done to this car so far
