In this video we will install a Eonon RCD330 Q53Pro 9 inch in-dash ‘plug and play’ head-unit into my Scirocco, this is a ‘how to’ guide for everyone looking for fitting advise.
This is a second of three video’s, firstly the unboxing and thirdly the Review will follow very soon.

Hello again - does your car have parking sensors? If so how do you engage parking sensors without the reverse cam showing? - I don't have a reverse cam but the reverse cam kicks in when I enage reverse and I only want to view the sensor output. Thanks

@@jameswilby9381 I can’t actually remember, but it definitely is in the settings, I only had rear parking sensors, and you can turn off the camera function on the head unit, I just can’t remember at this point how I did it.

I'm looking to get one like this for a 2015 Amarok, instead of the RCD330 stock looking replacement.. Any feedback after 2yrs?

@@ABVBLW666 Hello yes, still going strong, i’ve actually taken it out of that car, and installed in a new car. One thing to remember is every now and then it will require an update, just like any other tablet.

I've been looking for a decent fitting video for ages. This one is perfect 👍 How are you finding the radio after a few weeks use? I'm thinking of ordering one today but read some reviews that state the radio runs the battery down quite severely? Great video Thanks 👌

I really like it, it’s interesting you should mention running down the battery, I can’t see how it does, as it’s switched off when the car is off, but I have noticed the cars battery running lower than normal, I also fitted a subwoofer, and assumed that was the culprit.

Nice video - few show the wiring in so much detail. Have you done an eonon rear camera install on the VW with eonon head unit?

Any links to the cable pulling tools you used in the video. I'm installing a VWA12S-6g in a Sharan. The only problem so far is that it looks like the car is still trying to connect to the old unit. Thanks

Tip: use a metal coat hanger, unwind it out straight, then use sticky tape to attach the wire to one end, then push the wire through the dash.

Hello, quick question how is yours when making calls? The mic quality on mine is awful and cuts in and out? Very frustrating as the head unit is brilliant

I haven’t experienced this at all, clarity I’m told on calls is very good, I think it might be your phone signal more so mate.

Hey, do you know whether Eonon 03q would work in my passat b6 2005 as well? It seems to be the same, just q53pro is dedicated for VW, Seat, Skoda etc - and 130 dollars more. Any help is appreciated. I am desparate, no normal information online.

I don’t see why wouldn’t work, it might just be the plugs behind that might not be straight swaps.

Hi do you where exactly the reverse camera would connect to using the reverse camera filter box , installed mine but camera runs fine with engine off but when engine is running camera starts to shake . Any help would be appreciated

Well done first of all, I can’t answer this question because I didn’t fit a camera to the back of my car so I haven’t got an experience of it I’m afraid.

Mine worked straight away, so I’m not sure about troubleshooting why it wouldn’t work, as long as you’ve got all the cables plugged in properly, there is a setting within the head unit where you can assign SW buttons if you’re happy the wires are all plugged in properly and still not working.

@@carlubetv ok awesome man, thanks a lot, I figured that out, but now I came across another problem, when I put in reverse, the camera is Al blurry and pixelated, it worker fine before, and just suddenly the 2nd day its doing that

Hiya bud, does this have the cliamteonic stuff and the other oen integration like telling you the heated screen is on and the fan speed/ac on it off and stuff?

How have you wired that so that it just comes straight on onto the home screen. ?? Mine reboots every time I take keys out and re start the car. Cheers.

Mine does reboot up every time I have left the car for a couple of hours, otherwise it’s just like a tablet it says in standby for a period of time.

@@carlubetv ahh ok. Mine reboots even if I just pull the keys out then re insert them straight away. I tried the sleep setting. I think maybe it’s going to be the aux live and permanent live being switched. Thanks buddy

Has anyone have or had any issues with the warning lights going on such as the ABS, airbag and TPMS lights go on after the install ? I have the same head unit that I just got and installed. Had some issues with Android Car play but got through that but these lights popping up is a concern for me..They would go away for a while but pop up once again...Concerned !!

Hi, did the steering wheel controls work straight away? And how is the car play is it wireless or wired?

Yes all controls worked on the steering wheel, also they can be programmed, the CarPlay is wireless.

Nice install! Do you use the GPS much, or tend to default to google maps on CarPlay? I’m not sure I can be bothered with making the GPS wiring that neat, so looking for an excuse to skip that bit!

I believe it will because the standard head unit is the same. Best to check before you buy with the seller.

Erm not great out of the stereo (not radio one), I just use apple car play, then it’s perfect.

@@j41sals I've seen a video where you can turn this feature be "turned off" as an option in the display section in the settings. Try to navigate the menu settings around

I think so, it does all I ask of it, to be fair I mostly just use applecarplay, the radio on the unit isn’t great and it doesn’t have DAB, but I just use an app and run it off my phone, works perfectly.

It’s works wirelessly with Bluetooth, just like any OEM headunit. Also with a wire if you want to charge your phone. If you’re watching Netflix or using the web, the phone has to tethered via Wi-Fi.

@@carlubetv if your connected via wireless android auto then turn off the car, what happens when the car starts and it boots back up. Does it go back to the same state it was, ie connect to wireless android auto and start playing music or does it need manually connected again?

I haven’t used android auto, but with Apple CarPlay, you only need to connect the phone once, it works like any other OEM headunit I’ve used in the past automatically connecting to your phone.

Just installed mine, couldn't get signal on it, messing around with the wires trying to figure it... then suddenly remembered had my fm transmitter still plugged in 🤣 hence it not finding any stations
