It would be great if you included how you tear out the rusty parts and prep for the new replacements. I would also love to see how you weld the new parts in place. Great videos though. Thanks for doing them

Seeing as you're the repair guys and I've been watching religiously as I repair my own MX5 (and regret not bringing it to you straight off 😅) I don't think you've ever given any tips on products after welding. As in after you've just welded some nice fresh metal, how do you ensure it stays protected from the elements? Is there a go-to for you guys that you've found works best? And is there any combination of treatments to use that would ensure your hard work is preserved? You mentioned cavity wax here in this video and from what I see your process would be bare metal > anti-corrosion > seam seal and then send it off for priming and painting and THEN cavity wax it? Or is there a little bit more to it than that? Any advice welcome, I'd like to keep my car as solid as possible for as long as possible after doing all this. Thank you!

Personally I swear by Bilt Hamber products for all things anti-corrosion and coatings, their products work for me and are well respected amongst others.

@@98_martin90 Yeah I've got a bunch of Bilt Hamber stuff but which order to apply them, what to do if there's bits of rust you can't get to and how to treat that etc would be some great advice, particularly on a lil MX5.

@@crisprapper I'll share you my order but one product I don't use is Hydrate 80 as I don't feel it does much beyond the surface layer of rust. Instead on areas only lightly rusted I use their Deox Gel and just follow the instructions, 1L bottle goes pretty far I find. Their Electrox zinc primer is fantastic stuff to use to bare metal and is exactly what Bilt Hamber recommends as it bonds to it best. It can be left as is without a overcoat as it isn't a porous primer like that out of a spray can so perfect for internal structure and the back of panels. If you're plug welding be sure to grind it back on the spots being welded or better yet spray only the flange in their Etch Weld primer which I leave on the spots as it doesn't splatter nearly as much. I haven't tried their cavity wax like S50 instead I'm using up some Dinitrol ML that does the same job.
