Have to appreciate some of these hidden gems of small independant businesses, with a wealth of knowledge and experience that sadly just keep disappearing. Great informative video mate. Thanks for taking time to share
Thank you for watching and for the comment. I have driven past so many times but didn't even know they were there. Never advertised, Not on any social media and don't really do e-mails! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Dan Chambers I’ve watched your whole playlist on the transporter. I even purchased the spray caps you advised and the spray can gun trigger. Super handy for doing my spoiler on my van. Hopefully now you’ve bought them some valuable exposure for their business and they may reconsider getting some advertising. I’d be happy to send them stuff after seeing them operate.
Proper old skool engineer. Great to see and hard to find these days. People like him have a passion in the work they do so you would always have confidence in the work that's done. 👏
Thank you for watching and for the comment! Proper old skool engineering indeed. I could have spent all day there. His passion for engineering was amazing!
Great to see these independent engineering workshops still exist. I used to take cylinder heads to a local one for re skimming years ago, when I was in the trade. That’s gone now and been made into mews houses.
Thank you for watching and for the comment. It is such a cool little place. Exactly what you expect an old school engineering place to be, Small workshop down a terraced street! So glad I found it as the are getting rarer!
Thank you for watching and for the comment. Glad that you enjoyed it. The videos I could find only showed taking an head off and re fitting. None showed the work that goes into refurbishing.
Thanks dan for showing us all of your tips and tricks me and my dad are building a t6 and making it into a camper and I’ve just got to say thanks for the tip on taking out the clips on the roof and side panels because they are a pain and when we carpeted it yesterday we used your trick to melt the holes in with the soldering iron , so thanks bro for sharing you tricks 🔥
Thank you for watching and for the comment. So glad you are enjoying them and that you are picking up tips and tricks from them. Good luck with your build. Be good to see your progress if you are on Instagram tog me in a post.
Thank you for watching and for the comment. Glad to hear it. I was pretty worried about it at the mask's muffle it quite a bit plus the compressor in the background! True British Engineering.
Serious engineering Dan, hard to believe no younger people out there not willing to take on the business, but it’s the same all over! It’s just as hard to get good quality engineering done here in Ireland. Vids are smashing, keep em coming😊
Thank you for watching and for the comment. Proper Engineering. Such a nice passionate guy. Really enjoyed the hour i spent there watching him work. Glad you are enjoying the videos!
Thank you for watching and for the comment. Exactly that. so glad it wasn't a big fancy workshop with some young uninterested kid. Proper passionate engineering.
That was really interesting! I had no idea of the kind of amazing machines they use to do those jobs, I always just thought it was magic. What a job that man has. Super interesting and essential work. Sad to hear he has no one to take over the business after him. I hope he finds someone with as much passion for it as he does. Vans coming together nicely Dan, fingers crossed all these things sorts the engine problem out!
Thank you for watching and for the comment! I could have spent all day there talking to him. his passion was amazing. Hopefully he finds someone as it is a cracking little place.
Thank you for watching and for the comment. The knowledge Richard has is amazing. The other works he showed me that I didn't film were so impressive. Having bearings re cast and machining them himself for an old Bugatti engine.
Dan have you checked that metal pipe round the front of the block round over box to matrix for rust it's a nightmare to get to and they are renound for rust and easy to get to if the head off, I have messaged you in three of your vids now about the pipe let us know how it looks, Good vids keep it up. Rob.
Thank you for watching and for the comment. Van will be for sale as soon as it is finished. That is some binge! Love when I find a channel like that though!
Can't wait for the next episode! How much did all the head-work cost you? I want to do something similar to my 2.5TDI but I'm afraid I will have to spend at least one salary in Norway to get it done.
I didn't pick up from this interesting vid but are Wards' tolerances better than original? Ps glad I bought a rubber strip from eBay for between screen and dash 😉
Thank you for watching and for the comment. I am waiting for them to be delivered. Fingers crossed next week and I will put a post up on how to get one.
voices aren't that bad Dan. My mate has a T5, had a few issues with it, i would like to help him get it up and running, what is your thought on reconditioned injectors?
such a shame to see these highly skilled engineering companies going to the wayside they are and were the backbone of britain he really needs to find someone to train and carry on the business. vans going to run like a new one i've enjoyed following the journey so far
Thank you for watching and for the comment! It really is. Richard is so passionate about engineering. It seems that passion for work is no longer there with many people.
Thank you for watching and for the comment. It should be doable. I know the 2.5 can be a pain though. Best bet would be to speak to someone that knows those engines.
For the absolute love of God please don't think this windscreen is fitted well? Nearly 2 decades in the business and things can be so much better. Bond should be applied to the glass on a VW. Any questions please ask and I'm in the Manchester area
Hey Dan, Every post your beard is getting longer and longer. Now looking more and more like Catweasel. since you are too young you will have to look it up on youtube! I am beginning to also like my "lockdown" look, or maybe I am just a lazy twat). Cheers.
*Proper* work done right there! A "lazy people" saying i find quite helpful: _"If you're going for it, might as well get it done right the first time ... never to be dealt with again!"_ 😉 Can't argue with that!
Thank you for watching and for the comment. Exactly that. No point in me bodging it for it to break on the next owner. I can sleep well knowing I have done my best with it.
