Nice one Adam "Your Sportline Splitter will look better than the original"... I got a 3rd party aftermarket unit with gaps all around it & fitted with wood screws, not to mention the fron parking sensors constantly beeped when in reverse - Had to pay £150 to remove it & get it fitted properly .... could have done another hr round trip back to you , but didn't have another spare day
On my T6.1 I’d have to disagree with Apple Car Play being wireless. It’s not. I have an iPhone X and the only way to get Apple Car play is by connecting to the USB-C port via an adapter.
All fundamental didn’t changed since T4. I have about 19 years and 500 000 kms experience. It is all just in perception. Yes 4 speed auto to 7 sped or 5 to 6 manual. From 4,5 and 6 cylinders to just 4. Added turbo or turbos. Added USB PLUGS and many more little unimportant gimmicks. My question is what’s the difference in driving experience? Is the T6 more comfy? No. Is it more economical? No. Better fuel economy? Yes. T4 V6 petrol needs about 2 litres more fuel per 100 kms then T6 needs in diesel. My V6 petrol has done 512k kms and after preventive inspection I can confidently say it has another 300-500k kms to the end. I don’t need timing belts for one. It’s way quieter inside then T5 or 6. Power of 150 kW I have is in twin turbo in T6. I’m still interested where the T5-6 (6-1) is better then T4.
6.1 have more powerful and economic engines.More safe and luxury plus extra s standart.Front bumper takes more air in than before.Yes front is ugly but after one more extra lover bar fit than all good
Has the diabolical security issues to the sliding door been fixed...Most people buy these VW vans as a workhorse. Please show what it's like in the rear. Thanks...
Cross wind assist will be very useful for me living on a windy coastal area. I’ve had 2 test drives of the 6.1 and can’t wait to get mine in a few weeks time.
Hi guys. Quick question: could I swap out the opening windows on my T6 for the ones on a T6.1? Mine keep breaking! Also same for the tail lights - are they a straight swap??
Yes I see they have dropped petrol option. 2 years ago when I was looking at new vans Transporter was the only van this size to come with petrol engine. I can only think they didn’t sell.
camwinstone oh they did. Problem is those stupide co2 and emission rules. They calculate on average for the whole line up so as they sell lots of diesel they said as people who want one will buy one they could afford to drop the petrol. This allows them to drop there average co2 for vw.
marcducati yes your right probably can’t meet new emissions standards. The petrol became available when all the scare stories and hate for the diesel was in the news. Ironically diesel can make the emission standards but petrol can’t/not worth it financially for VW.
T6 seems the best bet still at the moment still, comfort dash, sunroof. Looking forward to seeing a grey fully kitted out one by you guys. Just not it’s going to be worth 50k+vat. It’s still a van
I wonder if the engine management light will continue illuminate on the 6.1 like my T6. Five cooler pumps fitted in four visits to dealer in 2500 miles! VW has a big problem with this van.
The wife and I came and had a look yesterday, have to say the front is`nt nice, I know you have a new one in production, but for me no comfort dash really put me off, shame I really did want one, I`ll stay with the t6.
You mention the t6 (non 4motion) didn’t have a traction control switch. Mine does (leased van 69 plate) and pretty sure it isn’t a 4motion. Is this right or does the button do something slightly different? When pressed I get the message on the dash “traction control (ASR) deactivated.”
You didn't mention the fact that the footwell is much more restrictive in the 6.1. They've brought the trim further into the footwell on the left hand side so you can't spread your legs as much as you can in the 6 - makes it feel real awkward
Hi Andy, these are trapezoid side bars and will be back in stock on our parts site very soon! Feel free to drop me your email and I'll send an email across when they arrive 👍🏻
What about the engines? Most are RUBBISH,low power,5 cilenders which are RUBBISH,what about these issues, these vans are nice inside, but the engines, are rubbish, hard to work on and maintain for the average guy,it's all garage, and money vans, nothi g more.the auto.is another big mistake.
@@SW-vu1gq ok those models may not have 5 cylinders but others do,the vw are all over priced, narrow boat vans, with apart from the 1.9 engine,a lot of trouble, the following they get, does not justify them one bit,Renault trafic,Ford, are much better all round, more room less cost, and less money spent on their mechanics,do your research
@@thedevhow also Android auto doesn't work properly and VW know but don't seem to be doing a thing about it 😡 . When I play Spotify on mine there is no sound, I only get sound from Google maps. Not good for a 30k van
@@Filmchippy ah sucks then! What about Waze, does it work with sound? Also if you have Digital Cockpit, can it display phone maps there? (Google Maps / Waze)
New one looks cheap, front horrendous why do these manufacturers ruin the looks of already great looking vehicles,vw,Audi ect it’s just to fuel the pcp craze
