One of the best videos I’ve seen. It’s very informative, providing information not found elsewhere. The presenter takes his time making the video very understandable. He knows what he’s doing.
Thank you so much for the awesome comment. I appreciate that not everyone gets my rambling speech, but it’s like you said, to help people understand what is being done to solve the problem. Many thanks 👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you for explaining it so good, I just did an oil change yesterday on my ski and filled it up to the full line, and after being on the water for about 45 minutes it started spitting oil out of the breather hose
Oh no😮 Use a flexible tube and suck the excess out. It will send oil into the air filter box front of the engine. You may have to clean that out😬 Best of luck 🤞🏽 👍🏽👍🏽
@@wolfeman1966 thank you yes I just got finished cleaning the air box and getting the oil where it needs to be, I’ll take it out this weekend and hopefully all is good
Great video, thank you. For your own info a dry sump is a term used to describe an engine where the oil does not sit in the sump under the engine but instead is pumped into an external oil tank and that's why this engine has an oil tank fitted to the end, for better oil cooling. It is then pumped through the engine and returns to the tankm
@@wolfeman1966 can I ask you a stupid question? Which way do you turn the oil filter. The previous owner of my 05 vx110 must have torqued it on there. If your standing on the stern and reach under the exhaust to grab the filter you turn down right? Can’t get this sucker off.
Hi Wolfeman Thanks for your movie, I just nought a VX110 sport myself, and it ned a full service. I can only suck 1,5 ltr of oil out of the swamp should the be more in? And what oil do you recommend using? the yamalube SAE 10W- 40 is that fuld synthetics ? Ruben Denmark
Awesome video man! I have a quick question about draining the tank, I took out about 2 quarts or so but I have a feeling there is a lot more oil so I don't want to change the filter yet. Any suggestions on completely emptying the oil tank?
The only way is to take off the oil filter. You can pump out so much but not all.. But leaving so In won’t hurt until your ready to do a full oil change 👍🏽
Hi how are you i just saw your video really intresting. I made service to my jet skis in 2019 i only used them 16 hours, last year i didnt use them i will use them this year is it necessary doing the service again or every how many hours do i do the service
Just bought my first ski this year and this was definitely helpful. On another note, do you know of the common leaks on these machines? I noticed that there was oil at the bottom of the hull and my oil level seemed to be dropping....
Outdoors_Unlimited yes one leak is the filter... if it hasn’t been changed out it rusts from salt water that comes in contact with it. Check that..👍🏽 Or the oil filter will leak oil through a leak hole at the front, if the main oil has been over filled.
The vx 1100 oil capacity is 4.3L. So if we take all the oil out , fill the new filter with new oil put it first then fill other 4 litres in the tank ... And thats it . Is that a correct way to do it ?
Ignotus Peverell I don’t really think it’s that easy filling the filter first then putting it on as, as soon as you start to put it back on ... it will spill out. It’s easier just to fit the filter back on, put some oil in, leave it for 15/20 minutes then top up. BUT not to the second line. Just the first. That’s inpatient to remember.
The owner's manual for my 2012 VX Cruiser says 2.2L / 2.33 US quarts of new oil to be added after oil and filter change. The over all engine oil capacity is 4.3L / 4.55 US quarts, but not all of the oil comes out with an oil and filter change. Of course, be careful adding oil slowly so as to not over fill.
From India..Having Yamaha VX deluxe. Going to change oil tomorrow. Should i start the engine first before extract oil. And how much i refill.. If oil doesn't change on time will get stop while riding. It's been 100 hours since i changed the oil
My 2006 VX110s have been sitting for a while and all the oil in the box has leaked down into the engines crankcase. Is it safe to start it and rev it like that or do I have to drain the crankcase first?
singularityoneone no. Not worth the risk. Just clean up and re fill Remember not to overfill past the FIRST LINE yes I said the first lower / bottom line. Check and replace your oil filter whilst your in that situation. Sometimes the salt water can rot the base of the oil filter, hence leaking oil ( could be the main reason) so check. Always do the work first to see a good result. Let me know how you get on please 👍🏽
what year is this one. Ours is a 2008 and running slow with white exhaust. My husband just overfilled it and now running with white exhaust and less power.
IndianaNY Girl hi...mine are 2011/13 but if yours looks like this then it will be the same type of engine . White smoke means overfilled oil. Get hubby to watch the video so it can help. Or impress him with the diagnosis.😊 If he doesn’t want to buy a new air filter he can take the old one out and clean it with soap and leave it to dry out properly. It does still work. Hope that helps... good luck 👍🏽
The easiest way to ensure you have the correct amount of oil, is to replace the same amount of oil that you first took out of the ski. Then warm the engine and recheck the level.
@@wolfeman1966 Yes, at the end of this one it says "Watch my video on what to do if you overfill with oil". If there is a second video, I haven't found it. Can you send a link please? Thanks DW
garyallen51 Oh no..😱 I thought I had put it on ... you are right it’s not there. I have deleted the video from my files to make room for others. I will get one up for you later today. And give you a shout out. Sorry for that.. many thanks for watching.
