His lawyers presented strong points to the Privy Council which not only gave him a retrial but exposes the Jamaican Justice system as corrupt and bias in this particular situation. I applaud them for this, but on the other hand a retrial can definitely be a win for Vybz Kartel knowing the evidence that the prosecution has will not change but his lawyer using a different approach to prove his innocence.

@@elisonl1194 hard to expose a system that everyone knows is corrupt. When you have police officers violating the law aka extorting drivers ( a common tactic they use is called write or left, where you either get written a ticket or you lef (leave) payment in their hands), when you have evidence going missing on a regular, paying your way out of an arrest. It's pretty hard to do because who are you going to complain to? The only reason kartel took his case to the highest court for jamaica, is because it is outside Jamaica. Regular citizens can't pay for a lawyer that will go that far

No lies, the Jamaican judicial system is really corrupted and surely kangaroo, very antiquated but the Privy Counsel is not looking to see if Kartel and the others are guilty as charged,they are looking at the evidence collected and if it was done the legal way. The Judge should have dismissed the jury after the bribery attempt.

I’m not condoning what if Vybz kartel did kill the man, however the police and the court cannot convict a person by breaking the law. The big picture is if they are allowed to do so, we also could be subject to the same illegal actions that may cause your freedom or life. Cops should do their job within the law and if they acted outside of the law they are no better than the criminals themselves. I think you missed the point there are 3 grounds and since the council rule that the case shouldn’t started with the jury they never went to rule on the other two issues.. THE TAMPERING AND PRIVACY WOULD BE ON THAT LIst.. I guess the judges did Jamaica a favor by not quashing all three it’s like sending them back to do their own work .its a dead case because if they moved forward then again they will appeal for the above mentioned and the government would be wasting resources the justice system needs more cases like this to show the tardiness going on

They freed him of the conviction. But it is now back in the hands of Jamaica court whether or not they gon grant him bail before his retrial. Procecuters going for a retrial

he privy council the highest appeal court for Jamaica says the previous convictions quashed .the case is now sent back to Jamaica local appeallate court for that court to decide on wether or not there should be a retrial..is what I gathered.

The juries were pressured, and the verdict handed down late, plus the evidence was tampered with, so kartel shouldn't have a sentence at all in the first place
