Wednesday July 31st 2024 is a day all jamaica and the entire world will remember forever for this day yesterday was the day that dancehall entertainers VYBZ KARTEL SHAWN STORM and 2 others WALKED OUT FREE from being incarcerated at tower street adult correctional facility in downtown kingston after serving 13 years . In 2014 vybz kartel and shawn storm was sentence to life in prison for the the unalive of clive lizard williams they claimed their innocence and fought hard to be set free over the years . march 14,2024 the privy council in london england threw out the murder convictions because of a juror that was trying to bribe other jurors . The privy council then sent the case back into the hands of the legal system in jamaica to decide if the case now warrants a retrial or to just set them free . The appeals court in jamaica decided that a retrial was not worth the effort and set them free . Here we are today thursday august 1st 2024 emancipation day holiday in jamaica with fans of both entertainers their families and other fans across the world celebrating the release of vybz kartel and shawn storm . congrats to both entertainers and their families and all that stood beside them over the journey of 13 years .thank you and congrats to vybz kartel legal team mr ISAT BUCHANAN - JOHN CLARK - ALESSANDRA LABEACH for all the hardwork dedication time they put in - upon his release fans gathered outside the prison waiting patiently to see vybz kartel and shawn storm walk out and when they did cheers and calling out his name was heard as both men walked out and entered a limousine . Vybz kartel girlfriend walked with him into the limousine he said a few words then drove off .both entertainers posted on their social media video clips which are included here .hiphop artist CARDI B posted her congrats and also dancehall queen SPICE posted after landing back in the United States .
