My my..at this age she is so graceful and dancing perfectly with great expressions. I am 63 but if some one asks me to do kathak which I learned looooong time ago, I can’t even put 2 feet together...kudos and much respect to her.

she is more than 80 but the dance shows ,oh my god. We lost Padmini , her counterpart and great freind. This dance , bhartha Natyam is a complete excercise with worshipping god. Her Ruthra Dhanvam and pl see bhanu Priya's Ruthra Thandavam in movie Azhagan . Her payal sings and it has no parallel. They are great fan of this wonderful, marvellous dancer, Vyjayanthi mala .

As a great fan of Dr Vyjayanthimala,I remember ,every event of her life ,vividly.She was actually born on 13th August 1933in Madras. She had her Arangetram on 13April 1945.Her first Bharatnatyam Guru was Vazhvoor Ramaiah Pillai .Later on she was trained by Padmshree Vadyar Dandaythpani Pillai.She also trained under Gauri Ammal and lastly By Vidwan Kitippa Pillai. So she was 84 when she gave this performance. Her first film in Tamil was Vazhkai,in 1949 and ,Bahar in Hindi in 1951.
Recently i became her fan, after watching sooraj movie. Then after i sought all her movies, and fell in love with that era. Hoped much to see her performance again. She is a blessing to our indian culture of art.
Dancers like her had Guruji who would teach them to have faith and believe in God before giving their first dance lesson.This longevity is the because of that faith instilled in them. Other good disciplinary habits grow one after another just like a flower Garland.
Absolutely wonderful and spectacular. It's an enriching experience to watch a lagend still in full form even when age has shown it's marks. what an excellent way to defeat time and age.
