Vytautas Smetona's performance of Mozart's Sonata in A Minor K.310 was recorded on March 22, 2018.
This is the first sonata of Mozart that is in a minor key. It is among his most eloquent and dramatic keyboard works. The emotional content is almost violent and features dynamic contrasts that are unprecedented in his canon of piano sonatas. Indeed, we find passages marked fortissimo that are immediately followed by passages marked pianissimo.
