I say other bands wish they were WASP; other singers wish they were Blackie. Great bands come and go; some are still hot, but WASP is soooo good. He is an amazing songwriter, too.
The line up with Piper, Lawless, Holmes - yes indeed. It was great. That's the ashes this thing Blackie calls WASP is living off of. This is just a coverband with Blackie fronting it. No disrespect to the musicians though.

God. Almighty. This man's voice is an absolute gift from Valhalla. I hope everyone watching this truly understands and appreciates the absolute miracle you are seeing here. And if not, go pull up ANY band from this era with the original lead singer still in the band and touring, find their latest live clip, and hear for yourself what a vocal GOD sounds like compared to those aged piss ants.
Blackie was almost 60 when he performed this, and pulls it off like a youngster full of hormones fronting their first rock band. Brilliant! Rock keeps us forever young.
In 1985 through 1988 I worked at U-Haul in Pasadena, California (Raymond Avenue). These guys would come in and rent trucks to haul their own stuff to the next gig. They were up and coming but I knew who they were (I'm a metal head forever) and I was speechless each time they came in. It was pure heaven for me ....a 21 year old kid. Thanks Blackie. You rocked then and you still rock now!
Honestly who cares what he looks like or if he's fat or not? Who said only 20year old top models had a right to be on a stage? Mister Blackie is still one of the best musicians and singer of all the metal scene. If some people don't like his look or his t-shirt, why don't they just go and watch 'any country''s got talent?
One day walking home from school I found somebodies cd collection in the road....it had lots I was familiar with except of an orange and silver disc titled "The headless children" by Wasp........I put it on when I got home and was like....where the he'll has this band been. Very very under rated band.
Even still today, Blackie's voice is almost perfect. In multiple interviews, he said that he did vocal exercises and took care of his vocals his whole career. WASP started out as a recording band, not a touring band.
I agree David! Blackie is sounding amazing! No change at all from 1984! Dam! so he's put some pounds on.. he's still one badass singer,, Thats what counts in music! :)
Saw these guys open for Metallica when Metallica was still an underground band. Best show I've ever seen. Blackie is a true artist...always will be no matter what shape he's in...still blows away anything from this day and age. Rock on Blackie....luv u man.
The issue isn't that he's heavier. The real issue is that we're losing most of the metal legends to heart attacks in their mid to late 50's. Way too young to die. Not necessary.
I agree with you Pee Bee, but it is his voice that we go to hear. It is like Elvis in his final years. You wish Blackie was all nice and slim again, but you can't make his face look any younger. His voice however is 100% as it has always been. Rob Halford and Paul Stanley have modified their songs in Judas Priest and Kiss to accommodate their tired voices, but Blackie's voice just goes on and on and on. Amazing! I'll always love Blackie!
I can listen to The headless children album every day. Really one of my favourite albums of all time. Wasp has a unique sound and Blackie was and is one of the best singers!!! He ages but who doesnt. He still kicks muthafokkin ass. Respect for this hero 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Getting older sucks. I was a senior in high school when I first heard F*** Like a Beast, and Wild Child. They blew me away. 35 years of drugs and alcohol really take their toll. Bands like this just don't exist in todays music scene.
I actually like this incarnation of the band... even if Blackie is the only original member left. The new guys bring an enthusiasm and energy to the live performance that you would never get from the old guys that peeked in the 80's.
Zee Risek I agree about this incarnation of the band. In fact Doug Blair, the lead guitarist here is miles above Chris Holmes. Randy Piper is missed though
Blackie lawless maybe older but wow and wow ,he still got it....powerful voice , great range, just like when he was younger and he never lost his voice at all, just like fine wine.....aged better and still sound awesome and amazing.....love wasp music, always and forever......coolest band still.....
Dude, looks DO MATTER. Why do you think he's wearing so much mascara? Why is his hair dyed jet black? Why is he wearing buzzsaws on his forearms? I'm sure they've got NOTHING to do with making the music come out of his guitar.

Older, became fat, but still got The flame.... Blackie's voice Is still strong and "unique"... I hope i will see and hear WASP a second Time in France ( The first Time was in The early 90's)

Even though a lot of people didn't like Heavy Metal in the 80's. Just like they didn't like Hip Hop in the 80's. I bet you'll listen to it now instead of today's stupid music. I will listen to this music for as long as I live. Today's music can not compete with 1980's music. Positive messages with no cursing.
Energy is off the hook. Vocals in key. Just found this video W.A.S.P is awesome rock group. Love how the change in the song goes, it has the classic rock rhythms and really good leads. Not to complicated but makes sense.
A friend told me about back stage bands, which take over the sound when bands can’t perform as they should live. I really like that wasp picked up a bassist that complements Blackies vocal style to give the fans the best live sound! Like many bands do by adding supporting guitarist for live performances. Blackie’s voice still holds up all these years later! I Think Rageaholic on RU-vid said it best when reviewing Wasp, sound wise he’s Blackie flawless !
Man, I must admit I was harsh judging this guy recently, I mean, come on. His voice is still the same. Thats what amazes me. Weight wise, sure he's a chunk now, but he is in his 60''s and probably enjoys his food? I mean, who knows why he's put on weight in reality? Might be a condition or med he's on, lifestyle, noone knows but Blackie! I put on a shit ton after I stopped going psycho with my drumming and rock shit, ended up on all kinds of meds for all kinds of reasons, but its hard to lose! So much respect to Blackie here, keep on goin' man!
It breaks my heart to see Blackie looking this way. I understand we all age, and of course that means rock stars as well. But some of them have aged better than Blackie. Even the ones who used to do tons of drugs and alcohol. I think Blackie just needs to take better care of himself, and get himself in shape. He can do it! Now his voice is still awesome! Which is more than I can say about some other rockers like Axl! Still love him! And he still rocks!
