PROJECT UPDATES:
Thinking back to these shutters, the one issue that needed addressing has to do with method of holding the louvers in place. A screw was incorporated in the original design, however, over time the effectiveness faded. There are two other options you can look at as an alternative:
1)Add a counter weight to the louvers on the opposite side of the handle.
2) Add felt washers on some of the louvers on the rotation axels. The thickness of these should be slightly more than the gap between the end of the louver and the side of the frame - thus creating friction.

I watched a video and the guy had $1,000s in equipment, this is nice because most newer woodworkers will have this equipment. Well done!

For the "captionists" it is STILE not Style.

Thanks for the information as I’m planning to build a Shutter soon and this has given me some ideas. Only challenge I find with your video is that you use several tools that few if any typical DIYers have so we have to figure out what tools are really required cs what is close enough methods to still have a quality product.

Very professional work indeed but I think the actuator bar would look a lot nicer and more practical if it was moved closer the styles (preferably the outer styles next to the wall) away from the center where it's blocking the view.

Rockler makes a cutter for airfoil look on the shutters much simpler and use it on your router table.

Thank you for that clear explanation and the tricks you have provided especially the part for making the tapered edge of the louvres. I am considering making plantation shutters that slide into place for a sliding patio door and retract completely... now I'm searching for a good track system to complete the project.
