My son age 3 at the time, got away from me once. It only took seconds for him to get away from me very quickly. I didn't know if he went left towards a creek or right to a road. I made it to the creek and heard tires screeching. I dropped to my knees, a woman and daughter saw him and stopped quickly. I got lucky that day, they can get away very quick. I pray they get answers 🙏

Yes 👍 thank God. i was loading groceries on the belt at the cash and my son was right there holding the cart - ½ second gone - Right then and there I jumped and yelled at the top of my lungs - his name - the cashier says - it’s ok he came behind me - he’s right here - walking to the end. I was shaking bent down and he’s all calm like wow mom all good (3) chill out - I softly say - never leave my side or sight when we are in public - always let me know where you’re going.

Unless the grandmother ran straight to the creek, the child had much longer than 18 seconds to get there. It is almost certain, given that his boots were there, that he drowned.

But sometimes they are never found, esp if he got swept to sea there would be no way of finding him. Eventually as hard as it would the best thing to do is try to move on with your life. Many people have had to accept their children aren't coming home.

Everybody has said how fast a 3 year old can disappear. My daughter loved to disappear. I can remember her at 2 whipping around and saying to me, "Why are you always following me?" in a very accusatory tone. I phoned the police once. They reacted not at all. She did eventually turn up. I phoned the police back to let them know she was home. The cop that answered the phone was going to put me off again. I'm sure of it. He sounded very relieved that my daughter was home so he didn't have to tell me to buzz off again. I guess so many kids disappear for a while and their frantic parents phone the police so the police are used to it.

My daughter got away from my husband and myself in a toy store in the blink of an eye and she hid in the bottom shelf between boxed dolls. We were frantically running through the aisles yelling for her and demanding the doors be closed and locked in case someone snatched her. The store clerk wouldn’t close the doors. I was terrified. My daughter was quiet as a mouse and when we finally saw her I was so relieved but upset and about to faint all at once. May these parents find their peace. 🙏

Yall..drowning is one of the top 3 ways most toddlers die, if not the first. Im pretty sure the grandma looked away for too long, & the boy took off running & sadly drowned. Toddlers run wayyyyyy faster than you would think. My son ran across a whole store in about 20 seconds ..and it was a big store. I ran after him the entire way, and was shocked at how fast he could run. I pray for this family. The mom did not do anything, i can see it in her eyes she is telling the truth, and the dad to. They are hurting badly. 💔

@aftersexhighfives

It is not trolling to point out when a parent is practically reading from the guilty lying playbook. Most true crime watchers have noticed terrible tropes family's fall into when tragedy comes knocking. It is not trolling to point out the things others won't say because "societal expectations." The child wasn't given that luxury, neither should any over detailed zero emotions monster who's lying as much as they breathe. The black mailers I agree, that's wrong on every level. Duh. But to call ppls theories trolling when we've all grown up watching this kind of media is a disservice to the victim. Unsolved mysteries started in the 80s. There's been thousands of true crime shows, movies, blogs and social media posts covering real cases. Many that have been solved by crowd funding the DNA testing needed to solve the case. I've spent hours on unidentified bodies vs missing persons, linking descriptions, times and places up. Theses aren't uneducated theories. Ppl called the Ramseys too after they lost Jon Benet in such a bizarre manner. But decades later, dna proves there was a non familial match in the home. Investigators almost immediately rejected the idea of an outside monster. It was the public who didn't and looked up the bread crumbs. Dismissing the common tropes means monsters stay free much longer than they ever should have.

Dylan would have had longer than 18 seconds to get to the water. I am confident that the grandma did not run to the water immediately. I am sure she more than likely looked around the yard before she even thought to make a phone call to emergency services. For people to assume that it was only 18 seconds is unfair to the grandmother.

My 4 yo son likes to hide from me. He has always done that since he could walk. He may have hid somewhere for a bit and then ran off while grandma was in a frantic and calling 911. Then he could have made a break for it. I can’t imagine what they are feeling. I feel so bad from the grandmother. She lost her family that day in a matter of seconds. 😢

@@jenakre7482 my hearts breaks for this grandmother. I can not imagine her daughter blaming her, if she thought her mother wasn't capable of taking care of her grandchild she would be to blame. The mother can't understand why others are blaming her she thinks its cruel, how can she be so cruel to blame her mother abandon her when they both need each other. The mother did not want to be judge for what she posted, I am not judging anyone, I just want to repeat the saying of do unto others as you would like others to do unto you. There is not one set of rules for you another set for others. I think the mother, father are looking for someone to blame. They are deflecting their feeling of perhaps feeling guilt even tho they aren't guilty on to others, sometimes people feel guilty when they are not, in circumstances like that they can't heal. My heart heart for all the family you can see the pain so much so that you can feel pain for them. I pray they will let go of the blame lift that burden of their shoulders that is weighing them down. They have no one to forgive because no one is guilty, it was an accident. The little guy could of been kidnapped they threw the boots in the river to put them of track. It is a terrible loss my heart goes out to them. I think they are punishing their self's, I am so sorry.

A 3 year old child doesn't take long to disappear, and when they are already focused on going some where, may ignore someone calling their name. My brother was just 2yrs old and I was 4 yrs old and he disappeared out of the house. When Mom realized he was not in the house that they had recently moved in, she was in a panic going out to look for him. Luckily, the neighbors at the end of the street saw him walking down the street and told him to come to them to play with their son in the garage with his outside toys while they looked for mom to show up. She still does not know how a 2 year old opened the door, but they watch and imitate us. She was just so thankful to have good neighbors. We ended up leaving the country to be closer to hospital for one of my children. Our house was on a highway, (I was pressed by all family members to get this house I didn't like). I got a sheltie and he would always alert me to children that got outside without my permission. Best dog and have many stories about how great a nanny dog he was.

The child was with the grandmother, not the mother, and one of his boots were found in the water. The child may have drowned and floated out to sea. He could have been abducted and boots left behind to throw searchers off. Such a tragic and sad situation. I hope he is found, but I just don't know. We all want to hope for the best scenario. Dylan's parents are in so much anguish. They are not involved, nor is the grandma. It's just such an unfortunate tragedy.

The water was rushing so fast that day the light boots filled with water and washed to the sides, while the struggling little boy stayed in the middle of the rushing water. If you have ever lived near creeks and been in rushing water it is really easy to see how this could and would happen. Poor family. God bless them and their broken hearts.
@waypay1

Idk...my grandson is 2 1/2 and he's wicked fast, as were my kids at that age. I don't think Dylan got to the brook in 18 seconds, but he could have been out of sight in 18 seconds and then had time to get there while she was looking around the yard for him another 20-30 seconds or so. Those boots would have shipped water and sunk and got caught up on roots or whatever in the water, but a struggling body wouldn't just sink in high, moving water. 1 boot ended up 500 yards downstream. I doubt someone snatched him and then ran behind a neighbor's house to discard his boots. That would take more planning than a crime of opportunity. That poor family!

In 18 seconds, Dylon could have slipped through the fence. Then he had minutes to make the rest of his way to the creek. Especially if she was panicking and looking in the wrong places. The likelihood of him being abducted in 18 seconds is low, assuming, of course, it was 18 seconds.

Kids that age are highly unpredictable, and faster than you might expect. I was always overprotective of my four kids, and very afraid of anything happening to them. One day I gave my three year old some candies, and set him on the sidewalk right outside our back door to eat them. I told him to stay there while I got his drink. I walked inside, and immediately back outside. He was gone!! I immersed freaked out as I was scanning the area to spot him. I called my husband who worked just down the road. He, and the team of guys he worked with found our son down by the road about a block behind our house. I just couldn’t see how I didn’t see him because there wasn’t any buildings there. He probably walked in the higher grass. I never let him out of my sight after that, and I mean that literally!

It's so sad that the parents don't acknowledge the same pain the grandmother must be going through. Can the parents honestly say that they have never turned their back on a child for even a few minutes? Their action towards the grandmother maybe shows what the grandmother feared their reaction would be if she happened to have turned her back for a bit longer than she stated. They obviously trusted her to look after him as she probably had many times. They should be supporting each other, not fighting over who is perceived to be more at fault.

As someone who lost a family member and my daughters teacher and a few friends in this SAME community very shortly before this disappearance happened, I can assure you that social media posts ARE NOT effective in this area. They tweeted about the shooter from the mass casualty on twitter when people’s homes were being burned to the ground with a gunman on the loose. A month later, when Dylan went missing… clearly they didn’t learn much about responding quickly or about how to get the information out to the local community. I’m not supporting anyone in this video in particular but I’m just saying there is next to no one in the Truro and surrounding area that have faith in the local police or the rcmp.

The police here in Kingston Township years ago ignored me as well. My daughter was older. She was able to ride a bike. She was told to ride over in the other subdivision and, then, come home. She fnished her ride in the other small subdivision and decided to take another road. My husband and my father-in-law suppposedly went looking for her, but couldn't find her so went to the nearly grave yard to visit my f-i-l's first wife's grave. Nice guy! I finally when my daughter didn't come home at lunch time--that kid never missed a meal!--called the police. The cop just said more or less, "Tough!" A short time later my daughter did come in the door as if nothing was wrong. "I went riding up the road and stopped to play with some children while their mother packed up because they were moving. She offered me lunch. I phoned home to say I was staying, but nobody answered. Then, the children went for their nap and I came home." says my daughter. I phoned the OPP back and the same cop answered the phone. When I said my daughter had come home, he was relieved. He didn't have to blow me off a 2nd time. Kids must disappear all the time, I guess, and the police just don't care.

As a grandmother of 10 I wouldn’t even contemplate to put a three year old in an unsecured yard. Accidents do happen but the negligence is on the Grandmother and not the police. However, I do feel they are covering their ass somewhat. Those parents are suffering real emotional pain and people need to mind their own businesses. I hope the bullies are found and prosecuted. Just one extra point…..if you don’t like being bullied online then don’t do it to others. Seem the pot calling the kettle. Still very sad!

I think maby possibly the boots could have come off of Dylan’s feet and then he was taken I feel like it could be very possible that he was being watched by someone in the woods and in a case of opportunity was taken and that Dylan could have taken his boots off to splash in the water because I know for a fact that my youngest nephew who’s now 4 but ever since he was 1 and a half has been the type of kid who hates shoes on his feet and any and every opportunity will take off his shoes and socks and fling them in different directions because he doesn’t want them on anymore so it could be a very real possibility considering that the grandma says that he loves water or maby just like how the grandma was saying that she thinks he was taken maby someone 😂was standing on the other side of the fence quietly and was looking through the fence and motioned to him quietly to follow him when he saw that the grandma had her back to the boy and was distracted because let’s face it while 18 seconds is not very long at all it’s long enough to get far enough out of sight that while you stop to take that extra 20-30 seconds to look around the back yard that right there adds up to almost a whole minute so that’s a whole minute that the little boy is a head of your searches so theres so many possibilities as to what could have happened really and while I don’t think the parents are to blame I for what ever reason don’t like them as much and have a strange feeling about them but I feel that the grandma is genuine

My son was diagnosed with cancer at age 5. I have always said that the only thing worse than that, would be if my child went missing, the not knowing, the possibility they could be alive somewhere, being abused by a predator, would be so unimaginable, that I would go insane trying to find them forever. I would rather know, and have their body, than to never get answers. To have such cruel accusations, by the public, would send me over the edge. The public have no right to be judge and jury, based on speculation and rumours, it’s not right. Armchair detectives need to be held accountable, for the added pain they cause to victims, already going through the most horrific period in their lives. I don’t know how to stop it, but laws need to catch up to technology and be in place to at least protect victims from being profited off.

If they cant seek help in therapy as a family; please seek these services as individuals. Grandma needs the support. Mom needs to move from Tiktok to forgiveness. Dad needs to embrace his life. Does he really think Dylan would be happy to know his Dad never opened another gift, ever? Anger is part of grieving, but it isn't the end of that process. I would wish all some peace...
