Thanks for watching! Let us know your favourite Orc miniature, Old or New, in the comments below! We really hope you enjoyed this tutorial and if you did, please feel free to leave a Comment, a Like and Subscribe to the channel. Cheers Dunc and Rog
The Night Goblin Oddnob with the big crescent moon halberd or the Night Goblin Boss with the shield and sword and the crazy warcry on his mouth. Both are so characterful.
Easy, the Warboss/ Big Boss from the old "Lair of the Orc Warlord" Warhammer Quest set. He's just big, crumpy, and mean looking. A wonderful classic of the 4th/ 5th edition era.
You are an inspirational legend. You manner of explaining is very connecting, your descriptions are on point. Honestly, i watch several painter turorials, but this is where i get my teachings from. Absolute class .
I would like to thank Duncan and whole team of TTC for their work. What you do is very helpful for both inexperienced and veteran hobbyists. Another thing I want to point is that you don't really need to paint each individual orc or gobbo to this level. On the table many of this will not be visible. That's why this miniature was actually completed around half of the video. But if you really want to push it so hard then just do it over time. Paint your block of boyz to level of ~7 minute and leave rest for later. One day make full highlights on the choppas, week later do full teeths, month later finish clothes, etc. This way you'll not burn out and regiment will change to your eye over time. Slowly you'll bring your whole army to this level - or you will say one day that it's enough for ordinary troops and will be happy.
Excellent work! I thought it is very interesting that the shades were lighter and lighter base coats with minimal washes applied. This is a very helpful tutorial and I plan to try it soon.
This is helpful to knock out a lot of these fast. I vary the green skin tone on my orcs so they have variation. I also customize some of them and add a eye patch or a few scars here and there.
Personally, my take is to do them darker the bigger they get. So little gobbos are a pale green, your avarage boy is a kind of mid-olive green... and huge bosses are virtually black.
I would love to see videos for large armies which have a time limit per-model. A "DRPA table-ready speed paint challenge series" would be amazing. I can't imagine facing into a full O&G army painting at this level, even without the optional highlights. Particularly because my hands don't stay still when I paint! 😖
So cool, I remember having these boyz when I was a kid. Tried painting the metal warboss on a wyvern and he looked terrible. Wish this stuff was around back then
Me gustaría comenzar a pintar Miniaturas con los Orcos de Old World Pero no se cuáles marcas de pintura o extras debería comprar Tengo miedo en arruinar algo por no tener experiencia, buen video!
Hey Duncan been watching your videos for a while and especially loved your blood angels painting, do you think you’ll do any more historical miniatures from victrix because I’m thinking of buying some
At 1:29 I badly misheard Duncan and somehow understood I had to pay attention to avoid brushing black on cashmere.... on an orc. The guys from this set and their contemporary archers are my favourite old world orcs, and why shouldn't they splurge on cashmere anyway?😁
Hi does anyone know what the holder thing is for the model. All the ones online seem to be for round bases as opposed to the square bases of the old world models
@@Lloyd411 Right? I don't get these people in the comments saying "thank you Duncan, I have 200 of these models to paint and now with this tutorial I can finally paint them!" You cannot paint so many Orcs to this level, sorry :P But for a special character or hero it's obviously doable.
@@arandomlostsoul753 You could if you wanted to spend the next 1/2 years doing it 😂 Edit: Nevermind, you were right. I can’t imagine anyone having bad enough OCD to paint the fingernails of 200 boyz
@@DuncanRhodesDRPA I'm really sorry I didn't write something cleverer now... I forgot you guys tend to answer all the comments. Well, As I happen to be painting my lootaz right this minute, I gotta say your videos are a constant inspiration. Thanks for that.
*cough* The music that kicks in for the final showcase is entirely too loud when you still speak. Needs some ducking. Just... pointing out for the future.
Would be lovley if you started breathing with your nose instead of inhaling with your mouth. It's both better for you health wise and less anoying to listen to.
