Since WABC-TV just unveiled new graphics back in January, time for an update!!

Crazy to think they have seemingly used the same theme for close to 30 years with the only shift being the tone of the notes. They're like their sister station WPVI with "Move Closer to Your World". One cool thing about the new graphics is that it actually displays REAL-TIME information as it goes by like the current time, weather and news headlines like a lower screen scroll Also, just a joke here but in the late 90's why the hell did they make Air 7 (their helicopter) sound like it was flying with an active turbo booster?

Please note that one of the voices mentioned here, Mike Lewis, actually was the main voice of Iowa’s public television network between the late 1980s and the early 2000s (his announcements disappeared shortly before the Quad Cities, which was not part of the state network at launch, was added to the state network in 2003). It is extremely rare for people working in public broadcasting to transition over to commercial broadcasting.

You have to respect that WABC is still using Charlie Van Dyke's voice introductions despite the fact that his vocal tone has declined by a considerable measure over the years. He was also the voice for WPVI (Action News) until earlier this year and Gabe Kunda has taken over for CVD.

Mike Lewis was the longtime staff announcer at Washington's W*USA 9 during the mid to late 1980s.

Correction, the early 70s was from 1973-76 and the second set was from 1976-78. You forgot the 1970 video with voiceover from Melba Tolliver. The first Eyewitness News set was from 1968-73.

As far as I know they are supposed to be moving to a new studio set in 2025
