You should make a video on a complete rebuild, I cannot find one anywhere and the bearings have been giving me the most issues, Not on the removal but on the install it is difficult to get those races where they need to be on the shaft without the outer race moving back and fourth causing play. 😕
Hi, please I need help. My compactor works and stop vibrating when it hot and the engine will still be working. If switched off and allow to cool then starts it will vibrate again and stops when hot. Please help
Hi Ramon, sounds like the bearings are shot. When they get hot, they expand and lock up. Once cooled they are free to rotate again. They probably sound like a high pitch scratch when operating. You can confirm by checking the condition of the oil if you have any left. The engine is maybe bogging down like it's under load as the exciter starts to slow down.
Hello, 10w30 was used for over 30 years with no issues. When they made the change to 75/90 they started having premature bearing failure just like the WP’s. 90wt is rather heavy to work well as this is a splash system. This info comes from Wacker along with what we saw first hand. Hope that helps.
I've got a 2540 here changed the bearings but when I run the machine and I push the handle for it to go forwards it goes backwards and pull the handle to go backwards it goes forwards any ideas?
Hi Ashley, It sounds like your sleeve gear is not timed correctly. View the video at about the 13:45 - 14:50 mark to see the sleeve gear timing. Also the 19:30 to see the timing on the shaft already installed. Finally check the 20 minute mark also for the final gear to gear timing. Hope that helps Thanks
Hi I’m just wondering if you can help I’ve got a DPU 6555 the forward/reverse handle lock up in the reverse after pumping a few times hope you can help Cheers 👍
Hi Nicola, Have you recently put additional oil into the head? Too much oil is usually the culprit. If there is too much oil in there it can not bypass when the piston moves so it locks up. There should be a level indicator on the head. Keep us posted. Thanks
Dave @ DHS thank you so much for your reply very appreciated. I found the problem in the meantime it was the seals in the head that were bad, replaced them and works great just thought I’d let you know regards Nick 👍
@@nicolascutti9570 I have requested a pdf of it from Wacker. I will have to email it to you. Please email me at david@dhsequipment.com so once I have it I can forward it. Thanks
When you push the handle forward, it engages the hydraulics in the exciter to shift the weights in the exciter in a forward direction. The same thing happens when the handle is pulled backwards, except the exciter weights are shifted in a reverse direction.
The best way to determine this would be to provide us with the serial number of the unit, we then should be able to find the correct service manual for your machine and provide you with timing instructions. info@dhsequipment.com or 954-532-2142
@@kyranliburd9997 Wacker went to a gear oil on a few versions and it's not working out for them so if you happen to speak to someone who knows at Wacker, they'll tell you to go back to the 10w40. On their single direction plates we are seeing lots of premature bearing failures. Gear oil is just too heavy for most applications. Hope that helps
@@davedhs6821 okay , thank you for the info as i have a few Heavy Range Reversible PLate compactors and the Exciter is a very expensive component to repair . so any knowledge is much appreciated
