Honestly for all of the cheaper and supposedly “more efficient and better” modern transformers toys, aside from the potential breaking, this is pretty cool to me
@@reljamilenkovic8039 same oddly skinny legs. While I get that the toys are based off the concept art, all the terrorcons look like they've never heard of leg day🤦♂️
In my honest opinion, I think it is an awesome idea. It reminds me of the (transformium-nanotech)deceptions from age of Extinction. My only criticism is that it should come with replacement bands in case they fail.
I mean. It's definitely gonna break pretty quick but so do pretty much any toy in the hands of a kid. It seems perfect for playing, no complex transformations plus it's just one motion. I could see kids absolutely loving these things
@@papermelon I would agree with you however I literally paid 1k for Flex Changers night bird I thought it was like 100$I am extremely disappointed and I will never financially recover from this
I miss the days when unique gimmicks like this would be used for the basis of making a new character, instead of just making a million different versions of the same character. Like, even if the gimmick sucked, at least you would get a quirky new character out of it.
Does anyone else get vibes of one of those rubber bands that looked like different things like dinosaurs and bugs from how the rubber band looks in robot mode?
Weirdest ones I think i had as a child were the ones when the bayverse was at its peak, it was just the vehicle modes with a plastic engraving of the character transformed on the bottom with their name and insignia. Weird and maybe pointless but my parents had no money to constantly buy the normal transforming ones so these ones being cheap were a good alternative and I loved them so
Yeah, the rubber is totally not gonna snap from too much pressure or get worn out over time! :D (Ye plastic and metal ect. can wear out overtime, but the way this one is done is truly something else)
The transformation itself looks quite cool with it sort of flipping inside out in a pretty swift motion. The bands are quite ugly though on the car mode.
The only thing I've never liked about x-rays is how little they react, like "well that hurt let me get back up and keep fighting" i think itd be cooler if they were unique round finishers kinda like brutalities.
With all the hype over compliant mechanisms in the engineering world, I'm actually surprised that it took them this long to try it out for transformers. Supposedly, compliant mechanisms are more wear resistant than traditional linkages, so providing they don't cheap out too much and use a brittle material, it should be fine.
Unpopular opinion: that was actually pretty fun to watch hahaha It's a shame that the rubber won't last too long, but for me it's not a bad idea to always look for an innovation 🤷🏻♂️
TJ Omega put up a video of the gimmicks they're using with the Rise of the Beasts releases, and used the Cheetor toy for an example of the Flex Changers, in case anyone's interested. I will say, I gind the flex change intriguing, though I also have the same sentiment about much the bands might during play.
"Witness and rejoice, Cybertron has forged a new spark!" "Uh, hello, I... am, I guess?" "Welcome to existence! Let me get a look at you." "O-okay." "Spark's healthy, nice shine to the chassis, transformation cog is... hm." "What?" "Your transformation cog is weirdly... squishy." "Is that bad?" "I'm not sure. Do you want to try- _carefully-_ transforming into your alternate mode?" "Okay, here goes." *rubbery noises* "Oh, cool, I'm a submersible! How do I loo- are you okay?" *wiping the remains of that morning's energon from his mouth and stepping away from the newly vomited puddle* "Fine! Fine. That didn't hurt?" "No..." "Good! You are a beautiful example of Primus's incredible variety, and don't let anyone tell you that you're a disturbing abomination." "Is that... likely to happen?" "... hey, do you want to meet Bumblebee!" "Ooh, Bumblebee!"
Looks like a great toy for transformer fans that may suffer from motor functions. I have a nephew with disabilities that struggles with transforming toys from the legacy or generations lines so he always asks me to do the transforming for him. Toys like this seems to be very accessible and appealing. I’ll have to buy him some. Thanks for the video!
@@saladv6069 I don’t know a single kid who buys these, even when I was 3 I wasn’t wanting these I wanted the REAL transformers. Also many companies make things like this that don’t sell well just cause.
@@braincube013 how did a 3 year old you know what "real" transformers supposed to look like? future stability issues aside, this looks more like a robot than the original ironhide and ratchet toys ever were.
I think it's pretty cool, and watching you transform it is very satisfying ^^ But that being said I can't imagine it'd have very good build quality, especially when it gets older and the rubber bands get brittle
TF1, ROTF, and DOTM are always gonna be the GOATs of Movie toys to me, everything fell off by the time AOE came out and when the one steps were introduced☠️
Its cool they used plastic hinges. Saw a YT short on how practical they are. i still miss the metal transformers but alas that was a different life and a different time!
