Just over four years ago, "Uncle Ben" Christie was a senior at Baylor University studying professional selling and had a job lined up at Oracle in Austin. Now, he runs @TheUrbanRescueRanch, a farm sanctuary and wildlife rescue in Waco with dozens of wild animals ranging from kangaroos to emus to capybaras.
Online, he creates half-comedic, half-educational videos featuring the different animals on the farm. He has amassed millions of followers and hundreds of millions of views across his TikTok, RU-vid and Instagram pages, and is continuing to grow both his following and his rescue capabilities.
