Nice review of the tablets! Thank you. There is another thing that I think is worth mentioning. The precision of the pen accuracy in lines per inches... The intuos PRO has +/- (0.010") 0.25mm and the Intuos has +/- 0.5 mm. This says that the intuos has half the precision than the intuos PRO. That's worth mentioning because you will have to use crtl+Z's much more often than on the Intuos PRO. I mean a lot more. You will gain time and be able to finish any work faster on a Intuos PRO. Because you can get a line right on the first try. If you are serious about drawing and make a living of it... You should definitely buy the Intuos PRO. I've used many wacon tablets (models: graphire, bamboo, intuos 4, intuos, intuos PRO and 13" Cintiq) and I have 15 year as a animator on game industry. So the main difference is the pen accuracy, not pen pressure, tilt or any other thing they tell you to sell products. What you need is a good feeling like your real hand drawing, and for that you'll need surgeon precision. So save some money than go get the PRO. But if don't have the bucks, the intuos will do the job at double time.

I'm a pretty decent artist and I use the Intuos Pen and Touch. It's not bad at all. Sometimes I do find myself wanting to do more with it, but I can't. If I had known it was for beginners I would've never gotten it and headed straight for the pro.

I bought this pen and touch to help with my portrait retouching and compositing. I have no complaints what so ever. The only downside is the Comand key on my right. When I saw this on your channel I knew I had to get it, many thank CamCrunch.

the only thing that holds me back from the Pro is that its soooo needlessly big and bulky. I love my intuos due to how tiny and efficient it is. It occupies a small space in my desk, while the working area is pretty much the actual area of the pad, its design is minimalistic and its really easy to carry around. BUT I WANT TILT SENSITIVITY pls wacom make a m inimalistic intuos pro that doesn't feel actually 5000 times bigger than it should ty

If you just want a tablet for photo editing, the pen and touch small will be all you need. Especially if you plan to use the keyboard shortcuts instead of the shortcut settings on the tablet. There is really no advantage in the pro tablet unless you use tilt sensitivity.(I have never needed it.)You may even be better off using a usb connection instead of wireless. The usb connection is more reliable and not as inconvenient as you would think and you won't have the problems of a wireless setup. I have tried both and the non pro small tablet is perfect for Photoshop.

I'm trying to invest in a tablet and conflicted between these two. I have never used graphics tablets in my life so this will be my first (and hopefully last) one. I'm only using the tablet for digitial artwork and drawing only. I'm more towards Intuos Pro because of the 2048 level pressure sensitivity, enabled tilt, and the ring. However, because of the price, Intuos P&T looks pretty promising too. Besides, I'm not sure if I need all of that pressure sensitivity and tons of ExpressKeys like in the Pro. What do you think CamCrunch?

I'm having a Bamboo right now, and considering upgrading to a Intuos. I made some nice things with the Bamboo, but it's still a hassle. I don't know if there any fine tuning options available or something (searched wherever I could) , but there are plenty of missclicks and lack of gesture recognition, thats why I'm thinking about a more precise one, but I'm unsure if it worth it at this stage, not being a pro tablet user, but everyone seems to pick it up quite fast besides me. Anyone any ideas?

I bought the Intuos without touch, and kept it for 3 days, I decided to buy the wifi kit but I couldn't get it to work no matter what I did. I sent it back, got an Intuos Pen and Touch, again with a new wifi kit thinking it could've been a hardware problem. Guess what, didn't work. I tried everything, reboot, reinstalled drivers, unplugged and moved the wifi so it wouldn't interact with anything else. Nothing worked. So I sent it right back again. Tomorrow I receive my Intuos Pro, so this review is very helpful. I just didn't think the Intuos pen and touch really cut it for me but its great at a budget. (Mac Pro-Mavericks).

Excellent Comparison! I just wanted to add a couple bits of info and put things into perspective. The Intuos P&T has similar specs to Wacom Capture, the active area on the Capture, is smaller than the active area on the Intuos Pro, which has higher res. and tilt recognition than either Capture or P&T. IF you edit pictures, or use photoshop for touch ups I recommend P&T, as it is less expensive than Pro, and in this profession you do not need the extensive res. or tilt recognition. IF you digitally paint, draw, or illustrate, at any level, I recommend Intuos Pro. You can still use P&T or Capture and still make great art, but the higher resolution, tilt recognition and multiple programmable settings are really a boost up and creates an ease of access to professionals or beginners. As Cam said, the tilt recognition is a real deal breaker, and is definitely worth the higher price, even if the resolution isn't as much of a big deal. The settings and higher specs are especially useful in not as advanced programmes such as Paint Tool SAI, and work wonderfully together. For most of my experience in digital art I used Capture, which I think is a great tablet, but the Intuos Pro is really a step up, and it shows in the art. Hope that helped!

damn bro, im kind of broke right now. all i can get right now is a P&T right now, can't even afford copics. Do you think i'll regret getting the P&T? im planning to do line work traditionally and then inking digitaly. Any tips/considerations for a begginer? i'd really like to get the pro but my country sucks and it expensive as fuck.
@sherryritchea9562
@sherryritchea9562 9 лет назад
DubstepSon I used something similar to P&T (Capture) for most of my digital art experience. I really liked it, and had no problems, I don't think you will regret bying the P&T over Pro, as it got the job done. I think the best way to overcome any shortcomings that you may experience with the P&T is by being very familiar with your art platform. Personally, I like using Paint Tool SAI for digital inking, as it is very intuitive and easy to use, as well as free. Once again, the Pro would be the best and most quality choice for digital art, but it isn't a must have. You can essentially do the same things, and your art wont suffer.

Sherry Ritchea If u use sketchbook pro the best to get is the Intuos pro Large model because of the generous work area higher level of pressure sensitivity and the astounding increase in resolution. But there is a drawback if u dont have a fast or decent pc the buttons touch ring and touch features will suffer heavily and so will the resolution.

I'm an artist and I've been using P&T for years now and it's been a good companion, but I have to say, in the long run you really begin to notice that its cheaper. The pen hurts to hold for a long time before it's so small and it has NO weight to it at all. There's also not a HUGE amount of pressure sensitivity on it, so it's def good if you are starting out, but after like 3+ years, I'm going to have to save up for the upgrade. Hopefully Ill one day get a monitor tablet

Hi! I had been using a intuos 4 from way back when and it finally crapped out on me. I watched your video and am still a little torn about which to purchase. Does the finger/hand touch feature turn off? Or will I have to hover my hand off the pad or something inconveinient. Also is the only difference between the pen & touch and the 'manga' version of it just the programs that it comes with? Finally is using the Intuos Pro hard or confusing wo the defined area of pen activity? Thank you for your time!

I'll have to go for the Intuos Pen and Touch. Not because I don't want the Intuos Pro but because I am on a tight budget and need to buy a new laptop for 3D applications as well. That and I would like to buy a tablet for ergonomic reasons; not having to connect my tablet being able to put it wherever I want will be such a relief for me compared to my old Bamboo pen tablet. I mainly bought it because my first tablet expired and I needed something temporary that I could afford. I also really miss having an eraser...I doubt it is a perfect tablet but it's a cheap, step forward from what I have currently. I have to do professional work so I definitely plan on buying the better model. I always wanted to experiment with a larger tablet too so it's definitely on my mind. :)

+Hamad Drawer It depends on how you like to do things. Are you used to a smaller or larger surface area when drawing/painting? Do your gestures tend to be smaller or bigger? I personally prefer the smaller size, I have problems with CPS and it's not as strenuous. I know you posted this 2 months ago, but maybe it helps?

I still don't get what's the biggest differnces between the white ones and the the Pro, bottons aside. I mean, if I'm used to rotate the canvas and change the brush sizes in Photoshop via the shortcuts what's the things that the white ones won't have compared to the Pro? Also, does the normal white one completely lack any inclination of the pen? Does it handle the pressure? Specifically I'm interested in the non-pro Medium one, not the pen and touch but simply the regular one.
@mojivisuals

The Pro has double the pressure levels and resolution, pen tilt sensitivity, included wireless capability (no need to but anything else), all sorts of different nibs for different drawing experiences and much sturdier build quality.
@agoniavr
@agoniavr 10 лет назад
CamCrunch - Photography Tutorials and More! Thank you for the answer. This leads me to another question: what should you use the non-pro version for mainly? The Pro costs twice the price and since I'm restarting drawing(used to be decent but never switched to the digital era, back then it costed a lot here in Italy) I'm a bit confused wether I should get a non-Pro M to start and see what I learn in 1-2 years(I work with Photoshop and Illustrator so I'm not new to that, just the digital drawing is new to me) or if I should invest in the Pro already because it just adds so much to the experience making it worth from start. Basically I can't distinguish the targets of the two product lines, also considering seeing the non-Pro was a surprise itself to me cause I thought the lowest line was the Bamboo...and now I can't understand well where this non-Pro intuos fits in Wacom line.

Intuos pro S is as large as a macbook Pro 13", the drawing area is not as small as bamboo S. Intuos Pro M will then be much larger. if you're a beginner, i'd really recommend getting the cheapest one available (as long as it gets pressure sensitivity) from a low end brand, clinging to it as much as possible as you save money to buy an intuos pro. That's what i did anyway. If I got my current wacom without having used inferior ones before I wouldn't know how to appreciate wacom's finesse, or understand how tablets work that well.

what do you recommend for, I draw a lot, especially for concept design, product design, and graphic design. I am using photoshop, and sketchbook pro (by the way do you know how to get sketchbook 2015 for free, or where can I get it), they both register the tilt feature of the intros pro. What about the tilt function, does it change my drawing style, I currently I am still drawing on paper, and I use this technique a lot, like for shading, colouring, sketch etc. So, which one???? The intros pro is 130 more in the Netherlands.

compare to the intros pen and touch

as you said in the video, the pro is for people who already familiar with their job, but for me as a person who have been drawing on paper and try to upgrade to an the other level, which one do you recommend.

I don't have the Intuos Pen & Touch but I do have the Intuos Pro. I'd definitely recommend Pro for artists who work with concept/product/graphic design. Drawing with that tablet feels amazing. I'm a computer art major (want to focus on game design & animation) at my school and our labs have mainly pro tablets. What I gathered from this video is that Intuos Pen & Touch is better for photographers. Pro for people who know they will draw a lot. Hope this helps :)

I have a question. Is it recomendable the Pro version or it's enought the Pen and Touch version, specially for drawing and once you know about graphic designing?

Hey. I have been using the Pen&Touch Small for almost 2 years now. I knew nothing about digital art or never had a tablet before. It works great for beginner. I'd recommend to buy you this version if you're still learning and don't want to spend too much money on it just yet. I'm currently thinking to get the pro one. Mainly because of the more buttons and I want to get the Medium size this time because the small one is just too small. Works fine if you only move your hand while drawing. I hope I could help.

+Gtasaryder So....it will be useful, even if I master graphic designing

+granmastersword If you have the money. Go for the pro version because that is future proof. You can use it for many years.

+Gtasaryder I see....but I'm more interested in the normal one, mainly because of the price. But I'm unsure if it will remain being useful once I have more experience cause I don't want to buy another tablet
@Gtasaryder

+granmastersword Yes. It's going to be useful even after you learn more about it. I recommend you to buy the medium one but if that is too much the small one would be fine as well. Depends on your screen size. However a more expensive tablet won't make you a better artist. Just has extra features to it.

I'm a DIGITAL new artist, and I want to start out with a wacom tablet. Ok before you start yelling at me, I'm not going to buy a new tablet within the 5-6 it will maybe last, so I want one which might be too advanced for me to start out with, but I will practice and practice till I reach that level. Basically, I don't want to buy one, realize I don't like it, then have to buy another one. I honestly don't know what I should get, the pen and touch one will be just right for me now, but maybe later on it won't. The pro is too advanced for me now, but later on it might be perfect I will take anyone's opinion... Help?

I'm having the same problem -.- Most people buy the cheaper one and says it's fine, but if you will be drawing and creating artworks I can't imagine going without the tilt-sensitivity.

Toyon95 In the time I've had an Intuos4 I haven't found the tilt functionality to be particularly useful. I played with it for a few minutes, said to myself, "Yep! It tilts!" and then never used it again. Now, keep in mind that this was in Photoshop, and in other programs tilt sensitivity might be useful as hell. But for my uses? Nah. So, don't feel pressured into buying the expensive stuff. Honestly, my favorite thing about the Intuos4 are all those buttons. Ohhhhh, those sexy buttons...

I was also attracted by the buttons XD So in the end I bought the intuos pro. Better precision too.

***** If you have ever used a normal plain intuos, is the texture better to draw? Smoother? Is there any really good things that intuos pro has while intuos doesn't? And does the buttons really matter? I'm literally attacking you with questions I'm sorry

Phili Chan I've not used the latest Intuos models, so I can't comment on the surface texture. I personally like a rough surface texture but am unwilling to spend $10 on replacement nibs every few months. A company called POSRUS makes a series of smooth surface covers that have alleviated my issue. As far as my favorite features go, again, I really like the extra buttons Wacom's high-end models come with. I'm one of those people that like to lean back in their chair and put the tablet on their lap. The extra buttons on my Intuos4 mean I'm not constantly leaning forward to use the keyboard and can draw in comfort. Are the extra buttons worth the extra cost? For me they are. If you're just starting out, however, I'd go for cheaper model. My previous tablet was a Graphire4 which was Wacom's low-end tablet back in the day. When it finally wore out I was so excited to have an excuse to upgrade. I was convinced that the Intuos4 with it's 2048 pressure levels would blow my old tablet away. I mean, the Graphire4 only has 512 pressure levels! The Intuos4 must be four times as good! Well, no, not really. Drawing felt practically the same. Tilt was just a novelty. Those buttons, though... Okay, I'm gushing about the buttons again. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that it's best to spend less at first and learn what features are important to you. Once you know what you like, upgrade. All IMO, of course.

Isn't this actually an intuos 5 and not a pro? I thought the pro had hard buttons and the 5 had the covered ones.

So, pro is most for the profesionals and expensive (200 - 500 $ the L) pen+touch is more for beginners and costs less (100- i think arround 300 the L?). That means ,because of the fact that Im a beginner the best for me will be pen+touch, isn't it ?
