Recently, I rewatched “Dune,” “The Martian,” and “Lawrence of Arabia,” and also watched Disney’s “Dinosaur” with my son. Each of these movies reignited my fascination with Wadi Rum.
Three days and two nights Bedouin desert tour in this magical desert 5 years ago - a memory that remains vivid. Located in southern Jordan, Wadi Rum, known as the “Valley of the Moon,” is renowned for its unique desert landscapes and magnificent red rock formations.
We crossed the desert in a 4x4 vehicle, enjoyed a simple lunch in a natural cave, and watched as the relentless afternoon sun turned the endless sand into a golden sea. In the evening, we savored traditional grilled meats at a Bedouin camp, and explored hidden caves adorned with ancient petroglyphs that seemed to tell stories from a thousand years ago.
The sensory impact is etched in my memory, and I believe this is the true essence of travel.
