Let me be a little honest here. Basically this rangers parade at border is considered a real low profile and it is. I am a Pakistani, from an army background and literally all of the community here sees no purpose of their fast, beautifully altered and unkept march. I would recommend watching our PMA( Pakistan Military Academy) passing out parades. There you see the example of discipline and integrity
Here are some fun facts: This is the most choreographed border flag lowering ceremony in the world and both countries actually have indeed worked together to hash out the routines. Both countries deploy their tallest soldiers for the ceremony as it is taken as sign of pride for each side. The lowering of flags is precisely timed as neither country want to have their flag lowered before the other side.
When I used to live in Lahore I went there. I sat on the VIP chairs as my family is at a high post. They give free flags to ones sitting in the VIP chairs.
I was in tears while watching it❤️ I’m from Lahore, Pakistan but when they loudly say Pakistan Zindabad give me goosebumps. Pakistan zindabad 🇵🇰 and thx for sharing it with all of us.
@@jklovett no problem bro u deserve some appreciation for gud content BTW Basant is coming in February u should probably stay till then or schedule a tour during that time ,u ll be amazed .

The Wagah Border Ceremony, more popularly known as Beating Retreat Ceremony, was started in 1959. The purpose of "Wagah Border Ceremony" is to formally close the border for the night and take-off the National Flag of both nations. The Flag Lowering Ceremony is done daily before sunset. However, this is an entertainment ceremony but displayed as patriotic performance every day. During Wagah Border Ceramony; National Anthem is played, slogans of patriotism and dance is also performed on Pakistani songs. At the time of the retreat the border looks like a battleground, as the procession is conducted with loud shouts and heavy foot stomping by the soldiers. A form of marching where soldiers lift up their legs very high is known as “Goose Marching”. This procession continues for 45 minutes. The Wagah Border Ceremony is a military practice carried out by the Pakistan Rangers. For Pakistani people it’s time to feel proud and strong because each and everyone that time feels that they are on war with India ....
Visited Lahore in 2016 and visited Wagha border but we couldn't get in because of some international politician visiting but that ceremony looks looooong lol.
I have never gone there.... I just always watch it on television on basic occasions of Pakistan. But I am thinking to go on Pakistan tour soon. Thanks for showing this!
Love your video. Its great to see you and your family again. Hope you guys keep coming annually. Must visit the northern Pakistan. Mark weins also went there recently. Also do visit the coastline of karachi and Balochistan like churna Island, astola Island, sandsspit Beach, French Beach, makran costal highway, princess of hope and much more.
Am an overseas Pakistani. Every time i visit its amazing to experience da enthusiasm in da air. Style of prade is diff in diff time it depends da relation between india n Pakistan. aggressive moves wen things are not gud between two countries. Wen things are ok moves are relatively friendly.
Hii.. I am an Indian, and a very proud one. Everytime I went for the flag march at the Attari (thats what it's called on the Indian side) border, I longed to see what the Pakistani side must look like, how do people on the other side react, is it as crowded as the Indian side. This is the first time I managed to see it, thanks to your video. However, I would like to highlight a few things. 1) It may seem unnecessary to you because as a foreign tourist, you will never be able to soak in the historical past and the turbulent present between the two countries. This is the closest citizens from both countries can get to each other (barring a couple of other such borders) since there is effectively no people to people contact because travel visas are not issued to citizens barring exceptions. 2) The history between two countries is bloody, the 'peace' too fragile. We were, just sometime back, on the verge of fighting a conventional war (That is kind of unthinkable in 21st century in traditionally peaceful parts of the world). Day to day show of marches like these denote peaceful times between the two countries. If this flag march was to be suspended at any point of time, it will only be because the two countries are at war with each other. 3) What seems like a "tourist trap" to you, in reality, generates 1000s and 1000s of jobs across both sides of the border. There are hardly any avenues of income for common people in border areas, especially because the border areas are so hostile and volatile. The issues related are far too complex to be discussed here. Nonetheless, thank you again. PEACE AND LOVE! ✌🙏
Thanks for your detailed comments. You are 100% right. As I started researching the wagah border after wards, I realized how fragile the relationship between the two countries was. I was originally going to try and make a video that talked about the wars between tthe two countries and what this flag ceremony means to the two sides, but as I started researching and writing I realized I didn’t have any authority to write it and that it was very complicated and detailed, so I decided to just make this video that was from my perspective and more light. Thanks for your comment!
Can’t wait for you guys to visit India and enjoy the ceremony from the other side of the border as well. It’s my first time watching your video and I’m already in love with both of you, such charismatic and positive people.❤️😊 Edit: Not trying to be partial or anything but the ceremony is much more fun on the Indian side, it’s just so much more energetic with everyone dancing, singing and doing other fun activities the whole time. You will certainly won’t feel ‘tourist trapped’ for sure. 😂
it's Really amazing Justin !! You captured it in detail way. You can have much more to see in Bahria town asian efel tower, minare pakistan and fort in old city Lahore. But you will never forget your visit once in Islamabad, Hunza, Kilash and kaghan valleys..
To all those Indians who are saying (or implying) in their comments that Pakistan is somewhat of their extension or was a part of their country:- There was no BHARAT before 15th August, 1947. Pakistan, Bangladesh and Bharat (india of now a days) were a part of BRITISH INDIA before 1947. And before 1857 there was a MUGHAL GOVERNED/Ruled HINDOSTAN. Before British, for 1146 years (from 711 to 1857) Muslims rulers used to rule majority parts of Hindostan during the majority of that period. Your Bharat came in to being on 15th August, 1947. One day after Pakistan. And you stole the name India from the sub-continent to confuse people that you're still the whole (historical) sub-continent. So Pakistan was NEVER A PART OF YOUR BHARAT (that claimed it's independence 1 day after us). We were a part of British Ruled India, like your Bharat did as well, before 1947. Go Wikipedia it, Google it or challenge me from any other authethentic encyclopedia (not your bjp infected text books) on my statements, these are 100% real facts that NO ONE CAN DENY OR CHALLENGE. So better get your stats and facts straight and right about us, respectively.
+Vikash Sahu when majority of the Indians stop shitting on streets then we"ll talk about your economy and please don't compare it to England, you look like a fucking joke.
@X man X man brother facts are for those who can understand the meaning of hindustan he himself said that it was mughal ruled HINDUSTAN not homeland of mughals, He is not correlating his own facts that from where that HINDUSTAN came in existence which was ruled by mughals. Mughals ruled it only bcoz it exists before them simply
