Wage War - Never Said Goodbye 

After my first Wage War show ever, I returned home from the long drive home. I found out that my dad had passed away from cancer; and I've always had this personal connection with this band. They have saved me from my darkest years of life, and today I'm blessed by this song.

I usually don't cry, but this song brought me to tears. Metal bands making slower songs hit harder.

Wage War, pummelling you into the ground with their heavy songs and then comforting you with soft and emotional ballads. 10/10 band 🙌

I didn't say goodbye because we thought he would recover from covid.. but what I did say is "I love you" and "We miss you" the night before... didn't know he would be gone that next morning. I lost my mom in mid-August due to COVID. It was completely unexpected for my family and I. She died just a few days before I was supposed to fly cross-country with my wife to see her and my family. This song completely captured the feelings and actions I had. I didn’t want to believe it. I chucked my phone across the room after hanging up with my dad and I just burst out in tears. My mom meant so much to me. She was so young to lose her life. We were able to get our flight moved up to the next day so my wife and I were able to be there as fast as possible. On top of mom’s passing, my dad caught pneumonia after having COVID that would have also taken his life in the same time frame had there been no action taken to fight it. He’s doing much better now and is recovering. But his, my and my family’s hearts are broken for the loss of my mom. I listened to Wage War after my mom passed, but I never thought that a song would later come out by them that completely captured the essence of the pain I went through. Hearing this brought back the pain, but at the same time, it was healing. I never got to say good bye to my mother, and I will have to live with that for the rest of my life. But I also knew her character and her faith, and that she was worthy of a place far beyond this Earth. Knowing that has given me peace.

I think this is the most accurate song I've ever heard of a loved one passing. My father was recovering from a brain seizure when we found out that he was diagnosed with final stage bone and lung cancer. He passed 8 days after we found out. It's been a little over a year now and this song still captures every single feeling I had through the year. Even now. I miss you dad, one day we'll meet again ❤️

After I lost my grandfather, the man who raised me, I found myself returning to this song time and time again. I can only really listen to it at my strongest, because any other time results in me needed a second to gather myself. I miss him every day, this song helped me put it into words I didn't have.

Losing a parent at a young age hits you different when you’re older, it’s when you finally realize it’s time to move on and let their spirit continue their journey back home to the spirit world and to just know they’ll always be in our hearts. Damn this song hit me so hard and really helped me with the grief I’m still processing. My little brother and I were very close with our dad, we’ve always lived with him and not our mother. I miss him a lot, sometimes it doesn’t even feel real, but I know he’s proud of us and how far we’ve made it together. Wage War is by far one of the most heartfelt and genuine bands out there today, and I hope they know one day how much their music means to me and everyone else! ❤️🙏🏽🇨🇦

I don’t comment much but this song has me feeling like I have to say something. I lost my cousin last year. He was 2 months younger than me and we grew up together. We were inseparable. My first best friend. Someone I’d been more like a brother with than a cousin. I hadn’t gotten to talk to him much in the few weeks leading up to his death because his work was changing and things like that. This song hits home in so many ways. Both my mom and grandfather passed away. When my mom passed I was going through marital problems and work consumed my life. The day she passed I was just starting a new job and was scared I'd lose my job. She died and I never got to tell her goodbye. My grandfather died in a motorcycle accident and at that time I didn't really have my life together and I felt I was a disappointment in his eyes. If only they were here today I could apologize for my past actions.

3 years ago I lost my brother to an overdose, he was my best friend, I found him not breathing and I thought it was all a nightmare. After he was taken out of the house a officer came up pinched my arm and told me to let it go. I hit my knees and cried for days. I still can't help but cry when I think of him. He loved you guys. This one hits the heart differently. I lost my Grandfather a little under week ago to cancer and nobody had a clue. He seemed to be doing fine one day, then the next he was just gone... It hurts a lot more when there's never a chance to say goodbye or leaving the dying with one last good memory. In a way I know I couldn't ever control what happened, but I still wish I could have been beside him before he died.

2000's post grunge vibes

there’s this girl i had known since i was about 8. i always liked her, she was always cool and good at art. i never was friends with her but i was friends with friends of hers and we talked here and there. fast forward to senior year of high school. i had been in a relationship for 4 and a half years and just got out of it and took a liking to her. i talked to her much more and eventually at l east once a day. after seeing her so often i started to really have feelings for her and so of course i would mess with her a little bit. one morning she walked into the cafeteria and i was sitting at the table closest to the vending machine. she walked over and said “hey hold my shit” and threw her stuff at me. she got her chips and the bell rang. we had to go to class. i was listening to music so i had just given her her stuff and was walking away and she said, “not gonna say bye?” and i turned around and went “nope :)”, threw up a peace sign, and walked away. after that i hadn’t seen her for a couple days. she hadn’t gone to school. about 4 days after, in the morning, the teacher announces a student has died. my heart instantly sank as he read her name. i’m not going to get into the specifics of what it felt like because i could write a whole novel off that; a different time. i instantly thought of the last time i saw her, and i remembered holding her stuff at the vending machine. it sucked but long story short; my point is, i found this song a few days later and the chorus “whyd i never say what i meant to, all those things i wanted to tell you” really hit me because i never told her i even liked her, and i honestly think i might’ve been sort of in love with her. then, “i wish i would’ve known it was the last time cause i never said goodbye” hit me like a train. it finally hit me. i never said goodbye at the vending machine. it really was the last time i saw her and i didn’t say bye because i was messing with her. but i wish i would’ve known it was the last time because i would’ve told her everything. i miss you liz, every day. goodbye.

The first I heard this song by them was last year sometime after losing my mom October 25, 2022. I already loved Wage War, but never heard this song. I had never heard of Wage War until I saw them at Dreamhack Dallas this past weekend. I lost my mom on Valentine's Day in February of this year. She lived in Tennessee and I live in Texas. This is the closest I have lived to her in over 20 years. Getting the phone call that she was found unresponsive almost killed me. This song hits home so hard it's unreal.
