The Wagley Ranch in Palo Pinto County is a haven for the endangered Golden Cheeked Warbler with nearly 20 nesting pairs returning each year and is believed to be the most northern breeding grounds of the bird in the world. Jay and Sue Wagley are conservationists as well as cattle and grass ranchers. Their robust Black Angus herd of 300 head provide healthy minded consumers with organic meat. The Wagley’s are unique in that they replant native grasses from seed off their 7600-acre ranch. Jay Wagley is also an investor in the 600-room historic Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells known for its healing waters and referred to as Crazy Water.
