Charles Gerhardt and the studio-only NPO were a great team, not only through their peerless Classic Film Score re-recordings but also in an obvious precursor to lavish film music such as these gorgeous Ring extracts. Magic Fire Music is an old favourite of mine and this performance is stunning.

Of course Gerhardt it's Amazing, and cosidering Wagner created the guidelines of Film Scores (and also the definition of a Total Work of Art, Cinema it's probably the nearest thing to that, knowing that Wagner also worried about the special effects). Also I listened to 3 albums of Gerhardt conducting Star Wars excerpts arranged by John Williams.

Did Stokowski conduct any recordings of this arrangement?

Yes. He made a superb stereo recording with the Houston Symphony around 1958. I believe he also recorded it in the 1930s in Philadelphia.

In poking around RU-vid, I also find a late 1940s recording in excellent sound for the period, made with the New York Philharmonic.
