Waheeda Rehman feels Dev Anand and Vijay Anand are very much similar. She feels that Dev Anand s very childish. She worked in many films with Dev Anand, which were directed by Vijay Anand or Goldy. She thinks only Vijay Anand can calm down Dev Anand. She enjoys working with both of them.

Guide was probably the best Hindi movie ever made till date. I have watched it at least 100 times and I am sure I will watch a 100 times more.

Agree. The film was decades ahead of its time. Bold subject. Excellent actors, ever green musical score by SD Burman and directed by, arguably, Hindi cinema's best ever director Vijay Anand. I've seen it around 8 times.

Vijay Anand had a small role opposite Waheeda in Kala bazar and had fantastic on screen chemistry. Coming to Guide... I liked the movie many times more than the novel. I saw many times this movie as school going boy to I grew up. This is the finest Hindi movie that I consider I have seen till date. Fantastic performance of Dev and Waheeda before the camera and outstanding magic of Goldie (Vijay Anand) behind the camera. To my mind, there has never been a better story teller than Vijay Anand in Hindi cinema.

@@AsadAli-jc5tg Never heard of NAU DO GYAARAH, KALA BAZAAR, JEWEL THIEF, JOHNNY MERA NAAM, TERE MERE SAPNE & GUIDE ???? These are frequently listed in ALL TIME GREAT movies, in a word CLASSICS. All of these were produced by Dev Anand, directed by Vijay Anand and starred Devsaab as the lead hero. No movie can be a masterpiece without great acting performances. The list is even bigger if the list is of films just produced by Devsaab. So, calling him a great hero is an understatement to the least.

Vijay Anand in his earlier days acted quite well. He didn’t have the charisma of a Dev Anand or Dharmendra but he was a much better actor than both of them. Natural actor and never went over the top. Acted brilliantly in Kora Kagaz and Tere Mere Sapne.

Waheedaji is an extremely graceful actor, which reflects in her body language and way of speaking. She never goes overboard in describing anything or anybody. Very few people know that she is born in a small town, Chenglepattu near Chennai in Tamil Nadu in a conservative muslim family. But surprisingly her father allowed her to learn Bharatanatyam, the classical dance form famous in South India. As she said it appropriately , that her dancing potential was realized by produces and directors only after Guide. But if I remember it correctly, she had done a dance before an idol of Nataraja in an old film along with later Raj Kapoor.

Very definition of elegance, grace dignity and classical beauty. And such divine simplicity. Interesting to note that she stood by her guns when all actresses tried all sorts of looks-blue contacts, bouffants and the like and was still appreciated just as much by the audience and looked better than the other ladies and achieved the position she did.
